Bear School Astartes

The battle style of the Golden Lion is similar to an enraged ape.

There are as many subtle deadly tricks as there are brutal punches.

After its body was activated by the Kirin’s blue horn with more considerable power, now having an enemy delivered to its doorstep made this Golden Lion utterly ecstatic!

”Roar! Roar!”

Sounds like long cries of an ape rang out excitedly.

According to the Grand Commander, the Golden Lion is indeed a creature that is rather difficult to hunt.

But its ’difficulty in hunting’ is not due to a lack of ability; on the contrary, the reason Golden Lions find it hard to acquire food is because of their overwhelming presence!

Even after a long walk, the footprints left behind can still carry a frightening oppression.

They don’t know how to restrain their presence, or perhaps they scorn to conceal such powerful aggression.

In short, every time they enter a hunting ground, their presence scares away the prey in it first.

They themselves are the type of monster focused on combat, and lack any particular skill in tracking, which leads to the difficulties in hunting.

And now, with food and combat delivered to their doorsteps right when they are most excited about their newly gained power!

The Golden Lion is practically overjoyed beyond measure!

With a forceful push of its two hind legs, its entire body soared skywards!

Then at the peak in mid-air, its bodies black and gold formed a solid sphere, plunging sharply down toward the two Hunters!

The Grand Commander seemed well-acquainted with the Golden Lion and immediately dashed aside to dodge.

Lann followed suit, and at the same time, his gaze deepened.

[Spirit Vision] activated.

Since the Golden Lion was described by the Grand Commander as a ’monster that even the Elder Dragons fear to some extent,’ Lann automatically became extremely vigilant.

Indeed, the Golden Lion with its magnificent and flamboyant golden fur displayed an agility surpassing any monster Lann had encountered before.

Generally speaking, the heavyweights of monsters in the wild nature are their greatest advantage.

But when faced with small, nimble, and high-damage Hunters, large-sized monsters, while not slow, struggle to be agile.

It takes them over a second to turn a corner, almost half a day to readjust balance after an attack... things like that.

And Hunters often rely on their experience and reflexes to use agility to suppress monsters.

But when facing the Golden Lion, the Hunters’ advantage in ’agility’ is completely erased!

The whole body construction similar to a gorilla, along with a not particularly large size and weight, makes the Golden Lion’s body flexibility comparable to even the Hunters!

When attacking, punches come fist after fist, leaving no so-called ’gaps’ at all.

This made Lann feel as if he was fighting against not a monster, but a powerful and reckless ’human’!

[Turbid Stream • Destroy] isn’t suitable for this scene, at least not before [Spirit Vision] collects enough information about the Golden Lion for Lann to visually judge its movements.

But Lann doesn’t even have time to swap weapons now!

Because the Golden Lion’s attacks are too powerful and continuous!

The battle immediately elevated into a high-intensity state.

The splinters from the coral reef might have the destructive capacity of shrapnel, blasting down with oppressive brutality making breathing involuntarily heavy and rapid.

This indeed is a terrifying power equivalent to the Elder Dragon!

”Bang!!!”

The distinctive reverberation of [Turbid Stream • Destroy] like that of a cathedral’s bell echoed.

Lann, who blocked with his greatsword, was forced to take the Golden Lion’s Turtle Fist head-on.

This punch didn’t so much involve technique — it was pure battle instinct of the Golden Lion.

But facing this overwhelmingly superior physical strength, the Turtle Fist is a deadly move!

The Golden Lion with golden fur in full bloom, every punch of its almost comparable to those towering strikes from the Extinct Dragon’s paws — leveraging weight and power.

In sheer impact force alone, it’s at minimum over a hundred tons!

However, the faint red aura of fighting spirit around Lann burst open with the Golden Lion’s fist almost simultaneously.

Even though [Spirit Vision] hasn’t gathered enough intel from the Golden Lion’s insides, Lann’s sheer skill and reflexes make him undoubtedly a top-tier Warrior.

The Hunter system’s greatsword skill [Iron Mountain Lean] was seized upon perfectly with that transient window of time.

Bracing it precisely when the Golden Lion’s might was not entirely unleashed!

Thus a punch carrying at least hundreds of tons of impact, ended up just numbing his palm, hurling him seven or eight meters backwards.

But before Lann’s body — propelled backwards by the impact — could stabilize, a massive shadow covered him.

The Golden Lion now stood upright, its terrifyingly muscular arms raised above its head, posing like in a bodybuilding competition.

Yet Lann did not perceive any comical element of ’a gorilla striking a bodybuilding pose’.

Facing those ferocious eyes overlooking him, he only felt like the nerves in his brain were about to snap!

Striking a bodybuilder’s pose was for the Golden Lion to expand the crushing area!

In a mere instant later, this Golden Rakshasa lunged forward, its entire body plummeting with the force of a mountaintop collapse.

Its destructive plunge power didn’t just come from its weight but also from the object’s hardness.

Though the Golden Lion’s weight isn’t the largest among massive monsters, its muscles, which previously withstood Kirin’s lightning and have evolved yet again, when tense are harder than even steel weapons!

If an ordinary Hunter faced such relentless assaults, even if the body could withstand it, psychologically they’d be in chaos.

But Lann, accustomed to dancing on the knife’s edge, even relishes in this ’art’.

Thus in a hair’s breadth instant, the faint red fighting spirit aura exploded again with a ’boom’!

[Iron Mountain Lean]! Two combo!

Once more using shoulder to bear the wide and heavy greatsword blade, locking all joints to become as a ’whole’.

Thus the downward crushing force of Golden Lion from above once again pushed Lann back.

But this time, his pupils within those cat-like eyes sharpened.

Abandoning the full-body mounting of a mountain pressing down also requires the Golden Lion’s flexible physique some time to once again stabilize pose.

And now, after two rounds of [Iron Mountain Lean], Lann’s fighting spirit activity directly breached through two thresholds!

Reached the level capable of executing [True Charge Slash]!

The fiery combustion-like fighting spirit aura, with the breathing completely weighed down on the greatsword and body surface.

[Turbid Stream • Destroy]’s hilt was held beside Lann’s face, while the wide, heavy blade so lengthy it stabbed downward into the ground behind as it hung.

The entire body akin to a fully drawn bow! Ready to unleash!
