Chapter 2597: Chapter 2597: The Grandson Coax His Grandmother To Take The Medicine

”But it is too bitter.” The old woman complained.

”Do you want to eat medicine that is not so bitter?” Yu Qi asked.

”So, you have them? Let me have them.” The old woman said as she nodded eagerly.

Yu Qi signalled the middle-aged woman. The middle-aged woman finally understood what Yu Qi meant by the medicine called not-so-bitter.

The middle-aged woman left the room and went outside to take the Western medicine that she had gotten from the hospital two weeks ago. Then she returned to the room with it in her hand.

”Mom, this is not so bitter medicine that the doctor talked about.” The middle-aged woman showed the medicine to her mother.

”Is this the Western medicine you got for me two weeks ago?” The old woman pointed it out immediately.

”Yes.” The middle-aged woman nodded.

”I don’t want to eat that.” The old woman refused to eat them. She then turned to Yu Qi. ”Are you a Chinese traditional medicine doctor? Why are you letting me eat those medicines?”

Yu Qi smiled gently. ”Western medicine is also medicine. I am a doctor. I want my patience to get better.”

”Mom, you don’t want to take the traditional medicine. You also don’t want to take Western medicine. How on earth will you get better?” The middle-aged woman felt frustrated and helpless.

The son came home and saw several people in his grandmother’s room. He quietly sneaked a peek inside the room.

”Oh... My sweet baby is back.” The old woman immediately saw her grandson.

”What is going on here?” The son asked curiously.

”Son, your grandmother does not want to see you grow up.” The middle-aged woman suddenly changed tactics, wanting to use her son to persuade her mother to take the medicine.

”Eh! What?” The son was shocked. ”Why?”

”What are you talking about? Of course, Grandma wants to see you grow up.” The old woman quickly denied it.

”Your grandmother is sick, but she refuses to eat and drink the medicine. The doctor already told Grandma, but she refuses to listen.” The middle-aged woman snitched on her mother.

”Grandma, why are you always telling me to eat the medicine when I am sick, but when it comes to your turn, you refuse to do so?” The son asked.

That was right. The old woman would become very worried whenever her grandson got sick. She would constantly urge him to take his medicine.

”I... I...” The old woman did not know what to reply to her grandson’s sentence.

”Grandma... You need to take your medicine.” The son tried his best to convince his grandmother to take it.

After thinking for a while, the old woman finally decided to take the Western medicine. It was much easier than drinking that extremely bitter traditional medicine.

The middle-aged woman felt happy and relieved. It seemed that using her son to persuade her mother was a very effective method. Well, she would definitely use this method from now on.

Yu Qi and Nurse Shin Teng excused themselves.

”I learn something today.” Nurse Shin Teng said.

”Huh?” Yu Qi tilted her head in confusion.

”If you want to force the elderly people to take their medicine, you should use their grandchildren.” Nurse Shin Teng laughed.

Yu Qi also laughed when she heard that. Well, the older generation was often very soft-hearted toward their grandchildren.

...

Everything continued in a good direction until the end. Yu Qi visited the elderly people in the village and told their families how to prepare the traditional medicine since the elderly people refused to take Western medicine.

Before they left the village, Yu Qi and Long Hui went to see the fellow cultivators.

”We are leaving.” Yu Qi said to Lu Chong.

”I see. Then you are going to come back later, right?” Lu Chong asked.

”Of course.” Yu Qi nodded.

Lu Chong smiled after getting the confirmation from Yu Qi.

When Yu Qi and Long Hui returned to the village, the bus had already arrived. They packed up everything and put their belongings into the bus.

The village leader and the villagers bowed their heads to the medical team for coming there and giving them free medical check-ups. The medical team also thanked the villagers for their cooperation.

They rode the bus and prepared to leave. Yu Qi opened her messages and saw that she had received one from Ming Xuehai. He was handling the case from the previous village. Upon investigating, it was discovered that the men in that village were often abusive toward their wives. Some of the women had even died because of the abuse.

But no one had dared to report it to the police. They even buried the bodies secretly in the village. The police retrieved about ten skeletons behind one of the houses in the village.

Some people eventually spilt the truth to the police. They were the wives of the villagers who came from outside villages. Most of them had married into the village. They were afraid that they might become the next victims who would be buried behind their own houses.

The case quickly caught the attention of the media. Many reporters wanted to report the news and obtain the details. However, the police were still conducting their investigation in the area, so the reporters did not manage to get the scoop they wanted.

”Doctor Yu Qi, what did you read? You look so focused.” Nurse Shin Teng, who sat beside Yu Qi, asked curiously.

Yu Qi showed the message to Nurse Shin Teng. Nurse Shin Teng began to read it and soon looked shocked.

”They found skeletons?” Nurse Shin Teng exclaimed in shock.

”Hmmm...” Yu Qi responded quietly.
