Chapter 2373: Tempting

Long Hui and Yu Qi turned to enter the town when they suddenly saw a large number of people gathering at the entrance of the town.

”Who are you and what are you doing here?” The chief town braved himself and asked the couple the question.

”We are travellers and we would like to stay here for a night.” Long Hui spoke up.

The chief town and the people looked sceptical about Long Hui and Yu Qiʼs reason for coming to this town.

”How can you ride such a beast?” One of the people asked.

”That is my contracted beast.” Yu Qi stated.

”What? Your contracted beast?”

”How do you tame such a beast?”

”Where do you find such a beast?”

Long Hui and Yu Qi looked at each other in confusion. They did not know that there was a decline in the beasts. Not many people own the contracted beast nowadays. If someone was lucky, he would have a contracted beast.

”So, can we stay overnight in the town?” Yu Qi asked.

To be honest, they could have just entered Sere and stayed inside, but Yu Qi wanted to experience the feeling of staying at the inn.

”Sure... Sure...” The chief town nodded.

The people welcomed Long Hui and Yu Qi into their town. They even introduced a nice in for Long Hui and Yu Qi to stay. Two of them thanked the kind people and checked in.

Long Hui took out a pen and paper. He wrote something.

ʼWe have been watching.ʼ Long Hui wrote it.

Yu Qi glanced over and nodded. She also noticed it. The night might be exciting.

The chief ordered some people to watch the couple. Then he and his trusted people gathered at his house to discuss Long Hui and Yu Qi.

”Chief, judging from their appearance, they might have come from a big family. It would not be wise to target them.” One of his trusted people expressed his opinion.

”But the pills that the girl has are so tempting. Do you see that glass jar? She has a lot of them.”

”But she has a contracted beast. If we attack them, she might call her contracted beast. We might be doomed.”

”We attack them, take what we want and kill them. Give the girl no time to call her contracted beast.”

”How a waste.”

Someone said that and everyone was confused.

”What are you talking about?”

”That girl is very beautiful. Sleeping with her once would be amazing.”

Someone hit the manʼs head.

”You also think something like that. Be serious.”

”I just think about that. Even I donʼt dare to do with her.”

”We need to act tonight because they will just stay for tonight.”

”Yes. Letʼs get the inn involved as well. It would be easier.”

”Yes... Yes...”

”Then, letʼs attack them.”

Long Hui and Yu Qi were enjoying the night from their balcony. They noticed a few men entering the inn. Not long after that, someone was knocking on their door. Yu Qi gave a look at Long Hui and Long Hui nodded.

Long Hui went and looked at the door. It was the man who dealt with their check-in process earlier. He was holding someone.

”Dear guest, you are lucky to be our 1000th guest for this month. So, we would like to reward you with our finest wine and some food that you can enjoy with your partner.” The man said.

”Is this really for us?” Long Hui narrowed his eyes.

The man became panicked. He tried to compose himself and smiled at Long Hui.

”Of course, you are our 1000th guests for tonight.” The man said.

”What is it, dear?” Yu Qi appeared from Long Huiʼs back. She looked at the wine and food. ”Oh, what is this? Is this for us?”

”Yes... Miss... Indeed, we celebrate you as our 1000th guest who stayed this month. Congratulations.” The man said.

Yu Qi grabbed the items and thanked the man. ”Thank you.”

The man froze.

”Is there something else?” Yu Qi asked the man.

The man startled and shook his head.

”Then, good night.” Yu Qi did not wait for the manʼs response and closed the door.

One cm away and the door might break the manʼs nose.

”You dare to accept their wine and food?” Long Hui raised his eyebrow.

”If we donʼt accept it, they will be suspicious. Those things in the food and wine would not be affecting us. Well, we can just put them in Sere and take out our own wine. So, when they come, we can act.” Yu Qi grinned.

”It is up to you.” Long Hui said.

So, Yu Qi took out her own wine and they enjoyed drinking the wine.

”It is about time they came.” Long Hui said.

”So, letʼs act, shall we?” Yu Qi said.

Yu Qi lay motionless on the chair, acting like she had lost her consciousness. Long Hui also followed Yu Qiʼs acting.

The door was opened. It was locked. Obviously, the innʼs owner was also involved in this matter. They entered the room. Seeing the woman and man lying on the chair, they grinned.

They immediately searched for the things that they wanted. They searched and searched but they found nothing. They almost flipped out of the room, still found nothing. They became flustered.

”The pills must be kept hidden by this woman.” The chief turned to the unconscious Yu Qi.

”Yes, she might keep it with her.” One of them stated.
