The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2250: The Red King vs the Champions of the Root (II)

Radagon, Godfrey, Rykard, and Morgott all felt their eyes widen as the exchange unfolded before them. They were standing inside the Heart of the Root itself, within the deepest chamber of the great rotting world-body, where the cosmic principles that birthed their existence resonated in their purest form.

In this place, there was no diffusion, no interference from the Universe Matrix. Here, their power was absolute, unchained, heightened, sharpened to its intended design.

And yet the Red King had just crippled seven Alpha-Omega Overgod-tier Champions of the Root as if they were little more than unruly children. It wasn’t brute force alone. His strength was undeniably high, but still technically within the scope of an Early Alpha-Omega Overgod.

What made the performance terrifying was everything else—his technique, his precision, his battle-awareness honed over uncounted aeons, and above all, his perfect dominion over The Flow. Those factors elevated him far above raw numbers or known classifications.

Even so, even a divine figure had limits, and the eighth attack finally managed to make contact. The last Champion of the Root—a massive, musclebound abomination wielding a sword of pulsing flesh and bone—swung downward. The blade collided directly with the Red King’s chest, blasting him into the ground with a thunderous crash.

The instant his body struck the surface, the fleshy terrain trembled. Countless tendrils of rotted tissue erupted from the ground and ceiling alike, swarming toward him in an attempt to engulf his figure, to drown him under the billions of tons of broken corpses and mangled flesh.

Radagon and the others felt a flicker of triumph, but it was short-lived.

A sundering force ignited from the crater, forming a circular barrier that sliced every invading tendril down to the molecular level. The protective sphere dissipated, revealing the Red King rising from the shattered ground.

The injury left by the strike—a wound the Champion had poured all of its power into—was shallow, barely deep enough to draw a thin line of blood across his chest.

When the Champions of the Root saw that level of resilience, they clenched their teeth. They remembered the first battle in the void; they remembered the Scarlet King’s monstrous endurance. But even that memory paled in comparison to what now stood before them. This body was different; it seemed almost unbreakable.

The Red King himself looked down at the faint scar with mild surprise, murmuring to himself in a low voice. ”I concentrated the Light of the Flow into the impact point at the last moment... but even so, this degree of bodily refinement isn’t bad at all.”

After that mild surprise to Cain’s achievement, the Red King ignored the aboaiton gazeing at him and began analyzing the abilities and foundations of the Scarlet King.

”Do not hesitate. Attack!” Radagon’s command echoed sharply in the minds of all eight Champions, snapping them out of their shock. He could not allow the Red King even a second, as a battle of attrition seemed to be the only safe bet.

The Champions of the Root’s regeneration ignited visibly—bone knitting, spines straightening, torn flesh sealing and reforming at speeds visible even to the naked eye.

In any other place within the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe, their scattered blood and severed limbs would have been devoured by the Universe Matrix, lost forever. But here, nothing was wasted. Every fragment, every drop of their essence was reconstituted into usable energy. As long as they fought within the Heart of the Root, they could die and rise endlessly.

That was why Radagon had thrown them forward without hesitation. It did not matter how many times they were torn apart. If they needed to die a thousand times for him to understand the full extent of the Red King’s strength, then so be it. Their existence was expendable; the knowledge was not.

The Red King barely glanced at the charging Champions. And just as their combined assault converged on him, he took a single step forward, using his sundering Innate Ability to cut space-time before him. In that instant, he slipped past them, teleporting ahead.

Surprise flickered across the Champions’ faces, but they immediately turned and pursued, attacking again from every conceivable direction. Blades, claws, spears, tendrils, beams of marrow-light—attacks fell like a storm.

The Red King dodged all of them, weaving through the onslaught with minimal movement, as though each attack were a choreographed dance he had rehearsed countless times. His eyes narrowed slightly as he sank deeper into Cain’s memories, and then a faint, meaningful light crossed them.

While still evading, he extended one hand and forged a sphere—a swirling mass of dark starlight and white flame.

”Endsphere,” he said calmly. ”Good, but too crude.”

His eyes glowed, and a single red point materialized at the core of the sphere. Entropy and Nihility, eternally incompatible forces, began to revolve around that red center.

While Cain only managed to make Entropy and Nihility revolve around each other, compressing their collision into the core of the sphere, the Red King managed to complete the technique.

Nihility and Entropy compressed inward, collapsing into a single unified destructive power, a sphere of darkness wrapped in white halos swirling like a cosmic spiral.

Once he had it, the Red King didn’t hesitate.

As he slipped past another attack, he pressed the sphere against the chest of a Champion of the Root.

The Champion froze instantly, its eyes widening in raw, instinctive terror. It felt its body, spirit, and ego unraveling under the power of the sphere. It wasn’t simply being killed. It was being erased—its existence being rewritten as though it had never been forged.

The Heart of the Root trembled, channeling vast amounts of life force into the dissolving Champion. If the body and ego vanished entirely, restoring such a being would be no easy task—and certainly not cheap. The Heart forced regeneration at all costs.

But before the Red King could finish the job, Godfrey entered the fray with a crash, swinging his colossal weapon toward the Red King and forcing him back. The intervention bought the Champion precious seconds to stabilize.

Radagon clenched his teeth as he watched. The Red King had bypassed their immortality with a single technique. And matters grew worse as another sphere began forming in the Red King’s hand... only to twist and reshape into the form of a spear, its darkness and pale halos coiling around the shaft like living forces.
