The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2214: Triggering a massacre across multiple Empyrean Worlds

Naturally, with that realization came desire. If Cain possessed the ability to forge Alpha-Omega Overgod treasures, then every being present wanted that power for themselves.

The hunger in their eyes was unmistakable. Some of them harbored thoughts of using force to seize that ability. The temptation was simply too great.

Cain saw every flicker of greed, every flash of calculation, but he only smiled.

When he was younger, he had been forced to hide his abilities constantly, terrified that someone stronger would take everything from him. But those days were long gone. He was no longer a frightened child or an unknown prodigy. He stood now as a paragon of power—an entity whose battle strength rivaled that of an Alpha-Omega Overgod. None of the figures gathered here could defeat him in single combat.

Of course, if all five joined together against him, the fight might become troublesome.

But he was not alone.

The coldness in Anark’s eyes made that fact unmistakable. With Cain’s smile and Anark’s murderous indifference radiating through the room, any lingering thought of attempting to coerce the Scarlet King vanished immediately. None of them wished to test the combined wrath of the True Primordials.

Things might have been different had these champions truly trusted one another—had they been capable of working as a unified force. But that very inability was one of the core problems Cain faced, and one of the reasons his plans were so complicated. If they somehow overcame that issue now, he would have been surprised... though not disappointed.

Yet no such miracle occurred. One by one, the six champions let the tension drain from their bodies and remained seated.

”What do you propose, exactly?” Cipher asked. The man from the Godslayer Humankind had been the first to stand beside Cain against High Lord Godfrey, and for that, Cain held a measure of respect toward him.

”Simple,” Cain replied. ”I can obtain Alpha-Omega Overgod treasures for each of you. The exact form they take may vary, but I will do my best to align them with your powers and battle styles. As for what I want in return...”

The five champions stiffened. An Alpha-Omega Overgod treasure was beyond priceless—it could determine survival or annihilation in their current war. They would pay nearly any price to acquire such a thing, so each of them braced themselves for the demand. They expected rare materials, sacred inheritances, or perhaps a vow of service.

But instead, Cain said something entirely unexpected.

”I want wicked and evil cultivators. The stronger, the better.”

A wave of confusion swept across the group.

Of all the possible exchanges, this was not one any of them had imagined. They stared at Cain, trying to understand his motives. Wicked cultivators? Why would Cain desire them of all things?

Then their thoughts shifted to the Scarlet Throne—the dimension that devoured its occupants and grew stronger from the act. The memory of its predatory nature made their expressions tighten.

Cain noticed exactly where their minds were going. A faint, meaningful glint crossed his eyes.

The fact that he did not care whether others noticed pieces of his secrets did not mean he intended to reveal them outright. If he could mislead them while keeping his true intentions hidden, so much the better.

The confusion faded from the champions’ eyes, replaced gradually by something else: greed and ruthless practicality.

There were many benefits to walking a wicked cultivation path—rapid growth, destructive power, and an absence of moral restraint. But there were severe downsides as well. No one cared whether such cultivators lived or died. And if there was profit to be gained from their demise, few would hesitate to make them disappear.

Cain’s smile widened slightly. He could already envision the carnage that would soon sweep through the Empyrean Worlds. Billions would die. Entire sects would crumble. The hidden filth of each world would be dragged into the open and eradicated.

To most, it would seem impractical to eliminate so many cultivators in the middle of a cosmic war. But Cain understood perfectly why it must be done.

Wicked cultivators could never be trusted. They would always put themselves first, and they would betray allies without hesitation for the sake of personal power. And since the Root promised immortality and limitless strength, those corrupt cultivators would be the first to fall under its temptation.

So Cain would remove them from the board entirely.

And in doing so, he would accomplish a goal that had eluded him for far too long: the completion of the Samsara Runic Set and the awakening of his Samsara Immortal Body.

Enhancing the other champions would simply be a convenient bonus.

”Let us reunite in six months,” Cain said calmly. ”Bring me the sacrifices, and I will immediately hand over the treasures.”

The moment they heard the time limit, frowns appeared across the faces of the super-powerhouses. They were eager—desperate, even—to trade with Cain. Alpha-Omega Overgod treasures could save their lives. And none of them cared in the slightest about the fate of wicked cultivators.

However, six months was far too little time.

Empyrean Worlds were vast. The wicked and corrupt were deeply hidden. And even for beings of their caliber, hunting so many cultivators would be no easy task—especially once their prey realized what was happening and began to scatter.

”Two years would be more appro—” Arkham was in the middle of speaking when Cain’s eyes transformed into twin abysses of darkness and ruthless authority.

”Six months,” Cain said. The oppressive weight of his intent filled the room, and every champion flinched involuntarily. ”There will be no change.”

Waiting even six months was an enormous risk. He would not offer a single additional day.

”Bring them all,” Cain continued, his voice cold and absolute, ”and I will grant you treasures capable of helping you take the next step. Fail, and you will receive nothing—while the others grow stronger.”

At that, the powerhouses shifted uneasily, turning their attention away from Cain and toward one another. They were allies in the war against the Root... but none of them wished to fall behind the others. Being weaker than one’s peers was a dangerous position.

”Very well,” Cain’s eyes regained their usual clarity, and his amicable smile returned. ”Since there is nothing more to discuss, and time is of the essence, we will take our leave.”

The sudden shift only made the room more tense. None of them could read his mind. None could sense his true intentions.

And that uncertainty frightened them.
