Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1123: The Origin of Summoning Power

Nathan looked down, contemplating. He was trying to get a full grasp of the current situation. It looked like the aliens had their own plan to beat the singularity. However, they lacked the keys to succeed. Besides, this wasn’t the only planet they sought.

While Nathan was in deep thought, Charlotte couldn’t help but ask, ”What is the summoning power? Not many have realized it, but I am one of the few familiars who have realized it. In my original world, I’m supposed to die. So, how come I am here?”

Only Nathan knew about this secret. She never told Vivian because Vivian wasn’t interested. As for the rest, none of their familiars had realized they were already dead.

Cthulhu looked hesitant to talk about it. However, since the matter had been brought up, he decided to reveal it.

”It’s because you are a fragment of existence.”

”Fragment of existence?” Charlotte widened her eyes in shock.

”That is correct. Do you know what happens to your world right now?”

Charlotte shook her head. ”No. In the familiar space, there’s a kind of space that feels like home. Although we’re alone there, it’s not that bothersome. We can even recover our power there.”

”Indeed. What if I tell you that space is a fragment of your world?”

”Fragment of my world...” Charlotte’s body shook as she couldn’t help but clench her fists. The answer wasn’t something she wanted to find. ”My world has been destroyed?”

”!!!” The people were stunned.

”That’s right. The singularity first appeared exactly 2,396 years ago. Of course, we resisted the singularity, causing the first great war of our race.

”As a result, countless worlds around us were destroyed.”

When Nathan heard it, he couldn’t help but raise his head, thinking of one thing. ’Don’t tell me... The Great Nothing? What’s it called again? The Bootes Void? An enormous region that is remarkably devoid of galaxies, stretching for hundreds of millions of light-years.

’But we’re talking about 2,000 years ago. Not millions of years... but since we’re talking about the time for light to travel, it should still be millions of years, right? Or maybe they’re talking about aliens’ years.

’But we’re talking about a war that can create that kind of void. Maybe it’s just a difference in time? Einstein? Kuhh... I can remember this kind of information, but I’m not intelligent enough to figure out the rest.’

While Nathan became even more confused, Cthulhu continued, ”Fortunately, you were not among these planets.

”However, the singularity didn’t stop there. After defeating us in the first great war, it sought other entities like us who could threaten it.

”It used our bodies, the rulers of this universe, to invade countless worlds outside the war zone.

”As a result, more worlds began to fall. Among them, there was a planet called Blue Star.”

”!!!” Nathan raised his head, not expecting Cthulhu to mention it.

”They possessed mighty warriors. Some of them even possessed strength equivalent to our gods. However, they, too, failed to do anything. Hence, all the mighty warriors chose to sacrifice themselves in order to maintain their existence.”

Nathan was stunned. He couldn’t help but think, ’Is that the reason there are many mythologies on Earth? They’re an existence that has indeed existed, but all of them were defeated in their fight against the singularity?

’And they chose to bring the planet far away so that humans could escape from the singularity so that they could rise once more to take them down?

’However, what is left behind is nothing but remnants. Because there’s no other way of replicating that power, humanity has never possessed that power again, leaving behind only the knowledge to advance in technology.’

Cthulhu didn’t know what Nathan was thinking. Since his answer had dispelled some doubts in Nathan’s heart, he continued to answer Charlotte’s question. ”I’m sure that your world is among them.

”The singularity invaded your world. However, this was not a simple extermination. It was a complete erasure.

”The reason the familiars in this world don’t have knowledge about our race is that those who fought the battle against the singularity were erased by it.

”We couldn’t let this continue. The reason for them to lose is the same as Blue Star. Despite possessing mighty warriors, they lacked knowledge about us or the singularity.

”We, too, realized this a bit too late. We should have extended our hands to work together. As a proud race, who has governed this universe for countless years, we simply didn’t think working together with lesser beings could do anything.

”After realizing we needed you, we sent envoys to other worlds like me.

”Still, we tried to help those who were not too late. The singularity managed to erase those who fought against him, but we tried to preserve the world as well as the existence that didn’t fight the singularity.”

”!!!” Charlotte gasped. ”So, those existences...”

”Yes, you.”

”Each world is like a source of information. It records everything from the beginning to the end.”

”Database.” Charlotte muttered that one word. It was terminology from Nathan, but she could finally confirm it was true.

Cthulhu didn’t respond to her words. Instead, he casually added, ”Not long ago, we found this world. This world functioned as a storage, but at the same time, this world could integrate fragments from other worlds.”

”So, that’s how it is...” Charlotte didn’t expect this was the truth of the world. ”By integrating fragments from other worlds, this world recorded existence outside the world. They are familiars.”

”That is correct. However, this world originally only had humans as its dominant species. When integrating fragments from other worlds, it could only accept things outside its original fragment, which was human.

”As a result, the humans of this world have gained the ability to access the fragments of other worlds. This is the reason they can only summon beings outside their species. At the same time, it has to be humanoid, because the world has already accessed this base information because of its original inhabitants, which makes the integration possible.

”All we need to do is facilitate by giving you the knowledge to access those fragments. And that is the summoning power.”
