Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 1121: Multiple Chosen Ones?

”Our race has been at the very top in this universe. We are aware of other worlds and their living beings, along with the power slumbering within them.

”We have studied many living beings. As a result, we’ve sent envoys, believing that they have the chance to become an unexpected variable in our battle against the singularity.

”However, the singularity uses our race to exterminate them. Out of desperation, our gods are using their power to peek into the future.

”There are 3 waves that can make it possible. The first one was 500 years ago, the second one is the present, while the third one is 300 years into the future.

”We don’t know which one will be effective, so we have sent out our people to the planets that can make the change, including this world.

”500 years ago was one thing, but they failed to make any big impact, especially the ’chosen one’ in your continent. I had received the report about that human not planning to make any big changes.”

Nathan raised his eyebrows. He was probably the only one who understood everything. Everyone could see that the chosen one was Mikhail Havengard, the hero.

However, only Nathan had heard the story from the pope. When one became the very peak existence to defeat the first peak existence, one would become the next target.

That was why the Pope asked him about his visions. Mikhail Havengard knew what would happen to him if he became the chosen one.

According to history, Mikhail Havengard was a farmer before he was a hero. The reason he became one was due to the alien that helped him.

There were a lot of reasons why he couldn’t become the chosen one. For a normal farmer, rising through the ranks would be like a dream, but after getting involved too deep in politics, Mikhail probably thought back and believed that being a normal farmer was what made him the happiest.

Still, he completed the mission and formed the Holy Kingdom as well as spread the summoning power. He might also not want to become the next target of humanity.

Whatever his reason was, Mikhail definitely didn’t get to become the chosen one.

And this time, it was his turn. The Pope was probably asking him because of the will Mikhail left behind.

For the Pope, Nathan was precisely someone who could be categorized as the chosen one if he followed the description of the chosen one according to the alien.

Still, instead of answering the call, Nathan asked, ”If you know there are chosen ones, why would you bother with other continents? Is it simply to make them able to resist the attacks so that the attacks won’t be concentrated on a single continent?”

”!!!” The others were surprised. They didn’t think of this question, but this question reminded them that both of the chosen ones came from their continent.

”Not at all. The reason each continent has one of us is simply because we don’t know where the chosen ones come from.

”In addition, the instruction given to each of them is to select the chosen one on the continent and bring them to me. In other words, during the period of prophecy, all four of them will pick the chosen ones of their own choice.”

Nathan raised his eyebrows. ”So, that means each time, it’s not just one?”

”No. There will only be one each time. These four will pick a human they deem to be the chosen one. Even if they don’t know which one is the true chosen one, it is my duty to discern the real one.

”Even if they’re not the true chosen ones, the people they pick are definitely people who can make great change. If they can aid the real chosen one, there’s a high chance they will succeed.

”However, there is one slight misunderstanding. The chosen one from your continent 500 years ago might be good, but he’s not the one I’m waiting for. Instead, it’s someone from the opposite side of the planet.”

”!!!” Nathan gasped. ”No, wait. Don’t tell me... Did that person come here?”

Evelyn and the others were confused about why he acted this way.

”Although there’s already a discussion about coming to this place, that person never came. He fell on the battlefield.”

”!!!” Nathan gasped before turning to Evelyn, Bella, and Vivian.

The three tilted their heads in confusion, wondering why Nathan had reacted that way.

”What’s wrong?” Evelyn asked.

”Did you not feel anything from that explanation?”

”What do you mean?” Evelyn frowned while the other two were trying to figure out what he meant.

Nathan chose to reveal the reason for his reaction. ”I’m talking about the bloody banquet. There was a discussion about crossing the sea to reach this place. Doesn’t that mean that person has figured out there’s a land across the ocean?

”What if there’s a record about it and those people discover it, which ultimately caused the bloody banquet?”

”!!!” They widened their eyes in shock. That was right. What if the terrorists figured out their continent because of that record?

”I don’t know what you’re talking about, but I could sense those four, including their locations. So, Rol’te must have given that person the locations of other continents. It looks as though that discussion has inconvenienced you. For that, I extend my apology.”

”...” Nathan frowned. He hesitated for a moment but chose to reveal it. ”The reason we reached this place originally is revenge. People from other continents had brought tragedy to our continent, and we came for revenge. So, while we’re at it, why not visit this place?”

”So, the matter of meeting me is a secondary thought?” Cthulhu was amused at the reason. ”As expected of the person who killed Roggoth.”

”!!!” Nathan’s heart skipped a beat as he raised his guard. Evelyn and the people from the Sleeping Garden were wary of him as well, thinking Cthulhu was trying to avenge Roggoth.

Cthulhu paused for a moment before dispelling the tense atmosphere. ”Please be at ease. I’m already aware, and even Roggoth has prepared for his own death before even coming here, so I don’t plan to do anything.”
