“Okay, okay, okay. I’ll definitely cooperate with you.”

Under the combined threat of Lin Yi and Zhou Liang, the driver didn’t dare to make a move and could only drive carefully.

The car wasn’t moving very fast. Lin Yi’s gaze scanned every corner of the city, observing everyone’s movements.

Fortunately, the two of them sat in the car and did not attract the attention of the others.

They all thought that the person sitting in the car was their companion.

A few minutes later, the car had traveled about 200 meters. A small group of people could be seen every few dozen meters on the street.

This scene made Lin Yi feel a lingering fear.

It turned out that they had not given up on searching the city. They had only temporarily relaxed their control over the area they had been in.

Instinctively, Lin Yi pulled the scarf higher up his face, trying to cover himself more tightly.

Time passed slowly like water.

Cold sweat seeped through their clothes. When they were about to leave the city, the number of people on the streets slowly decreased. Only then did the two of them heave a sigh of relief.

Once they were out of Santa Clara, they would not be in too much danger.

At this moment, the two of them saw bright headlights ahead.

Lin Yi looked over and saw two Meiguon soldiers and a roadblock dozens of meters away.

However, because they were exhausted, the two of them were half-lying on the chairs, as if they were resting.

This made Lin Yi and Zhou Liang cautious again. They never thought that the other party’s lockdown would be so tight.

“Boss…” Zhou Liang whispered.

“Don’t panic.”

Lin Yi held the scalpel tightly and said to himself, “Can you get leave?”

“They’ll verify our identities and check us before we leave. I, I don’t know…”

“Verify our identities? What’s there to verify?”

“They want to check if you have ore on you. They won’t let anyone away.”

The driver was also very nervous. If the Meiguo soldiers in front saw these two people in his car, he would definitely be recognized as an accomplice and die miserably.

Lin Yi reached under his feet and touched the base of the floor before smearing the ashes on his face.

Seeing this, Zhou Liang followed suit and disguised himself.

“We can only beat them at their own game now. If we find anything wrong, we’ll shoot them immediately,” Lin Yi said in a low voice.

“Understood!”

After reminding Zhou Liang, Lin Yi groaned and said in a low voice,

“Keep driving.”

“I know, I know…”

The few dozen meters between them was not considered far. The car quickly stopped in front of the roadblock.

One of them didn’t move. He gave the man on the other side a look. The latter came over with a weapon and leaned over the window to look at the three men in the car.

“Stop the car. We need to check. Where are you going?”

“We haven’t seen anyone yet, and we’re planning to pull out from here,” Lin Yi said in everyday English, leaning back in his chair. He yawned, shifted his position, and turned his face away, urging, “Hurry up and clear the way, I need to sleep.”

The Meiguon soldier in charge of the checkpoint didn’t seem to suspect Lin Yi’s identity because his accent was so authentic, clearly Meiguon, with nothing apparently worth scrutinizing.

“Let’s go.”

Zhou Liang breathed a sigh of relief. How did the boss develop such mental fortitude?

How could he act so convincingly?

The roadblock was lifted, and their vehicle left Santa Clara city without any interference, ensuring their safe departure.

“F*ck, we’re finally out!”

Zhou Liang was half-slumped in the back seat, panting non-stop. He was like a drowning person who was now gulping at air.

After leaving the city, the car began to speed up. Not long after, they had traveled a few dozen kilometers.

The driver gripped the steering wheel tightly and said shakily,

“I-I’ve already brought you out. Can you let me go now?”

“If you didn’t bring this up, I would have already forgotten it.” Lin Yi said.

“Let’s stop the car first.”

The driver was overjoyed. He slammed on the brakes and parked the car at the side.

“Thank you for bringing us out. To show you my appreciation, I’m going to give you a ride.”

“Do you want to drive the car away? You can just do it. I’ll walk back myself. I don’t need you to send me.”

The driver opened the door and prepared to get out.

“No, no, no. You can’t find your way back by yourself, so I have to give you a ride.”

“Huh? Boss, where are you sending him?”

“Sending him to God.”

Lin Yi held the scalpel and stabbed it into the man’s heart. At the same time, he covered the other party’s mouth!

In less than a minute, the driver died without making a sound.

After dealing with the enemy, Zhou Liang took off his equipment, threw it to the side of the road, and drove away.

“Boss, it’s almost dawn. Where are we going now?”

“I’m not familiar with this place, let’s drive along the road.” Lin Yi said.

“It’s safe now. Don’t worry too much. Let’s think of a way to fill our stomachs first. If I don’t eat now, I’ll starve to death.”

“There’s a mole in the Central Guards Brigade. Can we still contact the base?”

“Of course.” Lin Yi said.

“However, we can’t give them the real address this time. If we give them a fake address, we’ll be safer.”

Zhou Liang instantly understood what Lin Yi meant.

A mole had appeared in the Central Guards Brigade. If they reported the exact location, their pursuers would also arrive immediately.

However, if they reported a fake location, the problem would be resolved. They would be completely safe, and they would not have to worry too much about anything in the near future.

Lin Yi drove down the highway, and a bright light appeared in the distant sky.

The sun that was about to break the horizon signified the hope of a new life.

“Brother Lin, I feel that our experiences will be like a movie when we go back. It’s too f*cking exciting.” Zhou Liang grinned.

“Even a movie wouldn’t do that.”

“That’s true. Who would have thought that the two of us could stay in the sewers for three days and three nights? I’m f*cking impressed with myself.”

Zhou Liang sighed, and so did Lin Yi.

It felt like everything that had happened in the past few days was a dream.

It was so unexpected.

The person who was playing this game of chess behind the scene was still a mystery.

The corners of Lin Yi’s mouth moved slightly as he muttered to himself in an inaudible voice.

“Wang Tingshan, could you be the mastermind…”

The car sped along the highway. The rays of the morning sun shone on the ground from afar.

It was as if a ball of hope had arisen, and this great escape was finally about to end.

At this moment, Lin Yi’s pupils dilated, and all the hair on his body stood on end. His face was pale!

Dozens of meters away, Lin Yi saw two cars, one red and one black.

His heart beat faster like a clap of thunder.

His eyes were focused on the red car!

A Civic Type-R!

The car belonging to the man in black!
