“President Lin, don’t say that.” Harper gestured as he said,

“We reflected on our previous actions and also did a self-check on the company’s cars. We discovered many problems. We decided to recall all the problematic cars and compensate customers for all the cars that had malfunctioned over the past three years. We will also apologize to the owners of these problematic cars in the Huaxia market.”

Harper’s plan was comprehensive, and his attitude was also very sincere.

He was no longer as high and mighty as before.

If it was possible, or if there were other options, Harper would not be like this.

But that was no longer possible. Tesla had no way out.

If they did not stop the losses in time, they would completely lose the Huaxia market.

Meanwhile, he himself was being completely suppressed by Lin Yi and didn’t dare to act rashly.

“If you said that before, this matter would have been resolved long ago, but now, I’m afraid it won’t work.” Lin Yi said lightly.

“Are you not satisfied with what we’re doing?” Harper asked excitedly.

“There’s nothing else we can do.”

“Even if you recall the problematic car and apologize in the Huaxia market, who can guarantee that such a thing won’t happen again?”

“President Lin, don’t worry. We promise that we will investigate this problem strictly. This won’t happen again.”

“We’re all from the business world. A guarantee like this doesn’t have any credibility with me.”

“What do you want us to do? If we continue to waste time, it won’t do the two companies any good.”

“No, no, no, don’t say that.” Lin Yi shook his finger.

“There’s something you’re mistaken about. Our Lingyun Group’s subsidiary company’s shares are soaring now, so much so that my net worth has soared again. Therefore, this matter only affects Tesla. To be honest, I am waiting for this matter to ferment for a while more.”

Harper became agitated.

“But what you’re doing doesn’t align with business logic. You are in the semiconductor industry. If you insist on this approach, then in the future, there will be no possibility of cooperation between us,” Harper argued.

“My business logic is correct, it’s you who are mistaken,” Lin Yi said:

“According to our Huaxian customs, once we spot a vulnerability or weakness in a competitor, we strike hard. There’s an old saying, ‘Attack him where he is sick, go for his life.’ So I think it’s better to drag this out. Even if we can’t force you out of the Huaxian market, we can further squeeze Tesla’s market share here and create breathing space for other Huaxian electric vehicle companies. It’s a good move.”

“Well…”

Harper’s expression was ugly, but he suppressed his anger.

He knew that he could not win against the person in front of him, so he could not be angry.

“But this matter has to be resolved eventually,” Harper said.

“If President Lin is not satisfied with our actions, you can tell us your ideas. We will consider it carefully.”

“It’s really nothing. I’m just worried that there will be another problem with your things. As long as we can address this, everything else will be resolved.”

“But I’ve already given you my word that it won’t happen again.”

“Your word is meaningless. We often feel that it’s safest to hold our lives in our own hands.”

Harper could tell that something was wrong. Because of the cultural differences, he didn’t completely understand what Lin Yi meant.

“President Lin, can you make yourself clearer?”

“To put it bluntly, we hope that you can provide us with the core data on your vehicle safety. Only then can I be at ease.”

“That’s impossible. That is daylight robbery. We definitely won’t agree!”

Lin Yi shrugged and looked at his watch.

“You can refuse, but this is only today’s condition. If you don’t agree, we’ll continue to waste time. However, let me remind you that tomorrow, this condition might change again. Your call.”

With that, he picked up the landline on the desk and spoke to the secretary outside.

“Come in and see the guests out.”

A few seconds later, the secretary walked in and gestured for Harper to enter.

“Mr. Harper, this way please.”

Haber and his secretary were stunned as they sat on the sofa. They didn’t expect this meeting to end like this.

His mind was in a mess because he couldn’t think of a solution.

If he did not agree, this storm would not end!

He had no other choice.

“President Lin, I thought about it seriously just now. We can put today’s conversation on hold.”

“What do you mean?”

“We’ll think about your terms carefully, but right now, I can’t promise you anything. I don’t have that much authority. I hope you can give me some time.”

Lin Yi shook his head and said expressionlessly,

“There’s no room for negotiation on this matter. If there’s no result today, the conditions won’t be the same tomorrow. As for what to do and who to discuss it with, that’s up to you. However, I do hope that you will try to fight me to the death.”

With that, Lin Yi waved his hand. “See the guests out!”

“Mr. Harper, this way please.”

The female secretary was also a little excited. President Lin was too domineering!

Harper wasn’t angry, he just looked a little dejected.

With his secretary in tow, he dejectedly left the office.

“Why did you only ask for the core safety technology and cause such a huge commotion? Aren’t you letting them off a little too lightly?” she asked.

“First of all, it’s very difficult to discuss such a big matter in a short period of time. This way, I have room to make more demands.” Lin Yi said.

“Secondly, even if they reach a decision before midnight, I can still make an issue out of the safety issues to maintain control. The initiative is still in my hands.”

“What do you mean?”

“While domestic electric cars are flourishing, Tesla indeed has its unique strengths,” Lin Yi said.

“For example, their thermal management systems, battery management systems, and extensive operational data are all very impressive.”

“So what? This has nothing to do with safety, right?”

“Look, you’re missing the point,” Lin Yi said leisurely.

“Back then, when Meiguo attacked Saddaq, they claimed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction that threatened global security, and so they went to war. In the same way, I will be the person who sets the boundaries this time. Now you understand, right?”

Ji Qingyan rolled her eyes and looked at Lin Yi sneakily.

“You’re such a bad person. I feel like you’re going to toy them to death.” Ji Qingyan covered her mouth and laughed.

Lin Yi chuckled. “The worst is yet to come.”

“What would that be?”

“You’re about to find out.”

“Ah! Hooligan, you actually touched my thigh!”
