Basso’s shout made Lin Yi and Zhou Liang’s hearts rise to their throats again.

It was obvious that they were here to look for them!

However, they had just arrived here less than two hours ago!

Why was the other party so fast?!

“Boss, what should we do now?”

Zhou Liang’s expression was extremely ugly.

Just as they were about to contact their own people, something like this happened.

This difference was like falling from heaven to hell!

Lin Yi suddenly turned around and grabbed Maxa’s neck.

“Give me your car keys and the phone.”

“Here, here’s my phone…”

Maxar trembled as he handed the phone over. “The car keys are in the cabinet by the door. You can drive it as much as you want.”

Lin Yi didn’t waste any time. He took Maxa’s phone and ran towards the door, taking the keys to the Ford Raptor wth him.

“Let’s go!”

” What should we do with this woman? Should we take her as a hostage?”

Maxa’s daughter’s face was deathly pale. Tears fell from the corners of her eyes, and her body trembled. She was so frightened that her face had lost its color.

“Forget it. Bringing her along is a burden. Let’s leave now. It’ll be too late later.”

“Okay!”

Releasing Maxa’s daughter, the two of them grabbed the stolen weapons and gasoline. Together, they got into the Raptor parked in the yard and fled down the back path.

Zhou Liang heaved a sigh of relief when he heard the gunshots behind him fade away.

“We’re finally safe.”

“Don’t be careless. The danger isn’t gone yet.”

While driving, Lin Yi reminded, “Keep an eye on your surroundings. Danger can appear at any time.”

“Understood!”

Zhou Liang took out his weapon and sat in the back row to cover Lin Yi.

“Boss, we’ve only been in Cullen for less than two hours. How did those people catch up?” Zhou Liang said.

“Did Maxa tip them off?”

“That’s unlikely. He doesn’t know us. Secondly, we didn’t give him a chance to tip him off. They probably found their way here.”

“We ran eight kilometers to get here. How could those people know our exact location?”

“I’m puzzled too. It’s too strange.” Lin Yi frowned.

“F*ck, I can’t believe I was discovered even while hiding in a place like the Cullen District. It feels like there’s nowhere else to go.”

“We definitely can’t stay in Panem City. There’s a small city called Santa Clara dozens of kilometers away. Let’s go there and lie low.”

“Santa Clara? Isn’t that a county in Meiguo?”

“There’s another one here with the same name.”

Lin Yi looked around and said,

“You have the phone, right? Use it now and see if you can contact Boss Liu.”

The signal around the embassy had already been blocked, which included connection to the people from Team 1. It was very likely that their service had been restricted too.

In Lin Yi’s further plans, Panem City was no longer an option.

They needed to find a way to contact headquarters.

Zhou Liang took out his phone, attempting to call the Central Guards Brigade headquarters.

However, upon hearing the doa; tone, Zhou Liang cursed,

“It’s a waste of time, international calling isn’t enabled.”

“Then go online and send an email. Let’s inform them of our situation and try to get someone sent over to help.”

“Okay!”

Yanjing, Central Guards Brigade base.

The command center was engulfed in silence, as they had completely lost contact with Lin Yi.

Even within the city, due to signal issues, the information transmission was intermittent.

Liu Hong felt like he was blind, possessing great strength yet unable to use it.

“Don’t worry too much, Old Liu. With Lin Yi’s capabilities, he’s likely fine.”

The speaker was Cao Jiadu, the head of Teams 5 to 8 of Central Guards Brigade, who was primarily responsible for scientific research tasks.

Looking at the data available, Liu Hong analyzed,

“We’ve received a report of a fire on Sangma Street, caused by a vehicle ignition. The vehicle involved was a Land Cruiser, which is very likely the one Lin Yi and Zhou Liang were driving.”

“I guess Lin Yi did this on purpose. The two of them should have escaped.”

Liu Hong held the map of Panem City in his hand and pondered carefully for a few seconds.

“The area near Sangma Street is considered a suburb. After burning the car, I don’t think Lin Yi would stay there. It’s very likely that he went to Cullen District eight kilometers away. That’s the largest slum in Panem. It’s a place with all kinds of people. It’s very suitable for hiding.”

It had to be said that Liu Hong didn’t become the leader of the Central Guards Brigade by luck.

His tactical literacy and combat strength were also on another level.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to guess Lin Yi’s movements with this information.

“However, the problem now is that even if we know this information, it is useless. The local area has been sealed off. Our people will not be able to enter,” Cao Jiadu said.

“I’m guessing that Lin Yi had also thought of this. With his personality, he should think of a way to contact us after ensuring his own safety.”

Liu Hong sighed. “I reckon that in another ten hours, the people from Team 2 and Team 3 will arrive. If we can give them enough support via firepower, we won’t have to be afraid.”

No one said anything. All they could do now was wait.

As time passed, the combat conference room was filled with smoke as cigarette butts littered the ground. This seemed to represent everyone’s anxiety.

After more than two hours, the communications officer in front of the computer exclaimed,

“I’ve received news!

“They’ve been attacked in Cullen. They’re moving toward the western city of Santa Clara!”

As soon as he said that, everyone in the conference room became excited.

No one expected the news to come so suddenly!

“How did you get the message? I want to talk to them!”

“I can’t talk to them yet. They sent it via Twitter.”

“Let’s confirm their situation first and see if they’re injured. Ask Lin Yi about his next step.”

The communications officer followed Liu Hong’s instructions and sent all the messages over. Soon, they got a reply.

“The two of them are in relatively good condition, but they hope we can send reinforcements. They’re short on equipment and are in a very passive position!”

Liu Hong fell silent and turned to look at Lu Beichen.

The problem now was that their own side was constrained. Aside from Groups 2 and 3, providing firepower support was extremely difficult.

“I’ve already sent out the notice, and we’re negotiating with the other side. If we can’t reach an agreement within the next three hours, we’ll proceed with a forceful intervention into the city.”

“Forceful intervention…”

Lu Beichen spoke these words lightly.

However, it resonated powerfully when the others heard it.

The implication was clear.

Three hours was the ultimatum. If the other side still disagreed and refused to cooperate, then they would take direct action!

Then!

He would just start fighting!
