“Now that you mention it, I also thought of something strange.” Gao Zongyuan

said.

“A few days ago, when Director Qi was sent back to the country, Yuanyuan and I went to see him and met his secretary, Wang Nan, who had returned to the

country with him.”

“She told me that Brother Lin went to Panem with eight other people. From her description, it sounded like they were the eight people who ate with us that

day.”

“That’s right. They went together.” Liang Jinming said.

“Also, did you guys notice? When we were eating, those people either called him Brother Lin or Boss. They must be Brother Lin’s subordinates, so their identities and connections are definitely not straightforward.

“Then you might be right about this.” Qin Han said,

“It’s really possible that Old Lin isn’t a victim of this matter, but a participant.”

Liang Jinming and Gao Zongyuan trembled.

If Brother Lin was a participant in this matter…

Then it would be hard to predict what the current situation was.

Moreover, with his ability and intelligence, he should be able to get out of danger very quickly and contact them.

But up to now, there’s been no news at all, not a single message, which indicated that he was still not out of danger.

After such a prolonged silence, they can’t imagine what could be keeping Lin Yi

so occupied that he couldn’t even send a message.

The same thought has begun to emerge in everyone’s minds.

It was also the outcome they least wanted to face.

“What should we do now? Are we just going to wait here like idiots?” Liang

Jinming lit another cigarette and said angrily.

“I feel like we’re idiots. We can only stay here and worry. We can’t help at all.”

“Should we ask Secretary Liang?” Gao Zongyuan asked.

“Brother Lin seems to have a good relationship with her. She’s also an official, so she should know the details.”

“F*ck, what are we waiting for? Let’s go over now.”

Qin Han threw away his cigarette butt and the three of them got into the car together and drove towards the courtyard.

When they reached the entrance, Qin Han and the other two revealed their identities one after another.

The guard did not stop him.

These were all famous entrepreneurs in Zhonghai. Thus, he couldn’t stop them.

When they entered the building, they found out that Liang Ruoxu had gone to Yanjing for a meeting and was not in Zhonghai.

They didn’t know when she would be back, which cast a shadow over their hearts.

An Audi A4 stopped at the entrance of the Huarun Group.

“Wait here for me for a while.”

The driver was Chen Yan. When she found out that Liang Ruoxu was coming back, she went to the airport to pick the latter up.

“Got it.”

Liang Ruoxu wore a mask and walked into the building with her head lowered. Then, she took the elevator and went straight to Shen Shuyi’s office.

Shen Shuyi, who was handling documents, was not surprised to see Liang

Ruoxu return.

She had even predicted it.

“What’s the situation over there?”

As soon as she entered the room, Liang Ruoxu went straight to the point.

“Coming back after such a long time, and the first thing you do is ask about his situation. All these years raising you seems wasted,” Shen Shuyi said.

“It’s because you all were so evasive over the phone, never telling me anything directly, otherwise I wouldn’t have come back.”

Liang Ruoxu had been very busy with work in Zhonghai, and since the incident occurred, she had been constantly calling home to inquire about the situation.

However, the information she received was always vague and unhelpful.

This morning, she had postponed all her work and took a flight back to Yanjing.

“I’m not lying to you. I really don’t know about Lin Yi’s situation.” “How can you not know? I don’t believe my grandfather and father wouldn’t have told you anything.”

“Calm down,” Shen Shuyi said.

“If you continue to have such a bad temper, you won’t be able to achieve anything great in the future.”

After being scolded by Shen Shuyi, Liang Ruoxu sat back in her chair.

“You know Lin Yi’s abilities and techniques. Ordinary things won t be a problem for him, but it’s been three to four days, and there’s no news. How can I not start worrying?”

Shen Shuyi’s eyes darkened. After a few seconds of silence, she said, “To tell you the truth, what I told you on the phone was not to brush you off. I really don’t know his situation. And it’s not just me. No one in the world knows where he went now.”

Liang Ruoxu’s eyes widened.

“The whole world doesn’t know? How is that possible?”

“What I’m going to tell you next is the most sensitive of secrets. Only you can know this. If it’s leaked, the impact on the Liang family will be irreversible.

Liang Ruoxu did not expect her mother to speak to her with this kind of tone.

It meant that this matter had already escalated to the highest level.

“I know, I know.”

“Lin Yi and the rest were expecting shipments from Bazil to Huaxia. You should know about this, right?”

Liang Ruoxu nodded. “I do.”

“There was a problem with those goods. They found bass ore inside.

“Bass ore!”

Liang Ruoxu about the Central Guards Brigade, but she was quite unfamiliar with Bass ore. She had only heard it mentioned occasionally when the elders

were chatting.

She only knew that it was a very important energy source, and it was the mission of the Central Guards Brigade to locate them.

She was still not sure what these things were used for.

However, she knew very well that its strategic significance was so great that every country was fighting over it.

“Why would there be such a thing on the ship? With Lin Yi’s personality, he wouldn’t hide it.”

“That’s the problem. No one knows where these ores came from,” Shen Shuyi said.

“After the ore was discovered, the foreign forces infiltrated the local area and attacked LinYi and the others, wanting to steal the item. So now, Lin Yi is stuck in the conflict with them. I won’t elaborate. You should be able to imagine the

scenario.”

Liang Ruoxu’s face turned pale as she clenched her fists tightly.

She knew all too well how dangerous this matter was because she had grown up listening to these stories.

“But with Lin Yi’s ability, it should be easy for him to escape danger and find a safe place to contact the country.”

“This is also the crux of the problem,” Shen Shuyi said.

“I heard from your grandfather that Lin Yi contacted the Central Guards Brigade, but he lost contact very quickly. Until now, there has been no further news. That’s why I said that no one in the world knows where he went.”

Shen Shuyi combed her hair. “But I don’t think you have to worry about this.”

“The Meiguons sent people to Panem under the guise of peacekeeping. If Lin Yi is really dead, there would be news from there. It’s still calm now, which means that Lin Yi might be hiding. It’s just that external conditions don’t allow him to contact Huaxia yet. Coupled with the local signal being blocked, he’s in unreachable. Don’t worry, things aren’t as bad as you think.”
