Chapter 29: The magnificent mountain capital! The remnants of the evil god?Chapter 29: The magnificent mountain capital! The remnants of the evil god?

At the speed of the Iron Wall Caravan, it would take about three or four days to reach the Mountain Capital. However, since Rorschach and his companions chose to go first, it was naturally because they could go much faster if they walked alone.

When Ah Dai no longer had to worry about the caravan’s overall speed as before, it took them less than a day to reach their destination.

”What a mountain capital!”

When Rorschach saw the mountain capital’s walls that were tens of meters high, even though he was used to seeing tall buildings, he couldn’t help but feel a little amazed.

All we can say is that buildings that are tens of meters high and city walls that are tens of meters high have completely different visual effects.

It should be noted that, whether in Luo Xia’s previous life or on the Blue Water Planet, an ancient city wall that was ten meters high was already considered to be of upper-middle level.

The height of most city walls is less than ten meters.

However, according to Rorschach’s visual estimation, the mountain capital in front of him was probably about fifty or sixty meters high, and the visual impact was extremely shocking!
”Isn’t it spectacular?” Rex seemed to have expected Rorschach’s reaction and said with a smile, ”The scale of the Mountain Capital is quite impressive even among the four major capitals, second only to the Storm Capital.”

”It’s really spectacular.” Rorschach exclaimed.

My predecessor had lived in Huanghun Village since childhood and had never traveled far, so it was normal for him to be shocked when he saw this scene for the first time.

So he didn’t need to hide the fact that he was also shocked.

”You two, stop!”

While Rorschach was still marveling at the sight, the two were stopped by the city defense guards who were on guard at the city gate.

The guards’ eyes were still very poisonous. After just a glance at the two men, the guard leader asked, ”Knight?”

The person he was asking the question to was Rex.

He may not be sure whether Rorschach is a knight, but based on his years of experience in observing people, he basically concluded that Rex must be a knight.

He himself is actually a Black Iron Knight, otherwise he would not be qualified to be the chief guard of the city defense army in a place like the Mountain Capital.

”Yeah.” Rex nodded slightly and did not deny it.

”Sorry, because the remnants of the evil god have been plotting rebellion recently, all suspicious people must have a clear origin before entering the city.” said the leader of the guards.

”Are you saying I’m suspicious?” Rex glanced at him.

”Please don’t misunderstand me. I have no intention of targeting you... Let me put it another way. Anyone who appears to be able to threaten public security must have their origins clearly identified before entering the city.” The guard leader said neither humbly nor arrogantly.

He was not clear about the strength of the two people in front of him, and he understood that the other party might be more than just a Black Iron Knight, but he didn’t care.

As long as he doesn’t take the initiative to bully others, at least few people dare to cause trouble in the mountain capital.

Because his identity at this time was no longer a Black Iron Knight, but the leader of the Mountain Capital City Guards!
What he represents is the rules of the mountain capital!

If he is in the right, touching him would be tantamount to not giving face to Mountain Capital, and not giving face to Mountain Capital would be tantamount to not giving face to the Pound family.

Even members of the Storm Royal Family would not deny face to the Pound Family over such a small matter, let alone ordinary people.

When Luo Xia heard this, he secretly thought that something was wrong.

Although they have nothing to do with the remnants of the evil god, their identities do fit what the guard leader called ”unidentified persons”.

After all, the clear identity mentioned by the guard leader does not mean as simple as just stating the origin verbally.

Compared to the Blue Water Planet, although the social development in the Gray Domain is much more backward, it also has things like road passes.

For example, the Iron Wall Caravan came from Rock City, so if they want to enter the Mountain Capital, they must have a pass issued by Rock City.

For the local residents of Mountain City, entering and leaving the city is not that troublesome, but they also have other ways to prove their identities. However, Rorschach and Rex, one grew up in Dusk Village, and the other’s identity is not yet public, so it is indeed impossible to determine their origins.

”This is too unlucky.” Rorschach was speechless.

From what the guard leader said, the checks are probably not so strict during normal times. Apart from those caravans that obviously come from far away, there is nothing to check about the other three or two people coming in and out.

Right now, the remnants of the evil god are plotting chaos, so we are taking the initiative to investigate them.

”teacher?”

Rorschach looked at Rex, wanting to ask whether they should retreat first.

If it really doesn’t work, you can also go and meet up with the Tiebi Caravan first, and then enter the city together with the caravan using their identity.

Rex had no intention of retreating. He took out a brown token from his sleeve and threw it to the leader of the guards.

The moment the guard leader saw the token, his expression changed slightly, and then he caught the token in mid-air with both hands.

After carefully examining it for a few times, he held the token with both hands with a respectful look on his face and returned it to Rex, saying, ”I am truly sorry, I am sorry that I was not able to recognize your identity, my lord guest. Please forgive me for that.”

”Ignorance is not a crime, and you are just doing your job conscientiously.” Rex took back the token and said calmly, ”Any more questions?”

”No, no, please feel free to do as you please.” The guard leader immediately stepped aside and shouted at his men, ”Get out of my way!”

The main reason why he scolded was that he was afraid that some of his subordinates might be so foolish as to offend the guest official Rex, and this was also a kind of protection for his subordinates.

”gone--”

Rex tapped Ah Dai with his heel, signaling him to keep going forward.

Ah Dai calmly carried the two people inside.

When they passed through the long city gate passage and officially entered the mountain capital, Rorschach could not help but ask curiously:
”What was that just now?”

”I asked my cousin Elsa for a guest token for the City Lord’s Mansion just to avoid this kind of trouble.” Rex said.

Obviously, the two days that Rex was away were not just for catching up.

”Teacher is wise.” Rorschach finally understood and gave Rex a thumbs up.

Rex’s strength is undoubtedly beyond doubt, but he is obviously very cautious in doing things, and this alone is something that Rorschach should learn from.

”Here, take it and play with it--” Seeing that Rorschach was interested in the token, Rex threw it to Rorschach and said casually.

”Isn’t this a bit strange?” Rorschach was a little surprised after receiving it.

”There’s nothing wrong with it. I just asked for it to save trouble. I’ll ask her for another one later.” Rex said indifferently.

Rorschach agreed. With Rex’s strength and status, this kind of thing, which seemed extremely precious to others, was really nothing to him.

”Let’s go and find a place to stay. You can also take this opportunity to rest for two days. You must have worked hard to get here.”

Rex patted Rorschach on the shoulder.

Rorschach naturally had no objection to this. He had just arrived and didn’t know where to go even if he didn’t rest. He decided to take a look at the situation first.

As he was thinking about it, a familiar mechanical prompt sounded in his ears:
”The replacement is about to end, half an hour countdown.”

”Please prepare yourself——”
