First Magician

Chapter 11 Before the ExamChapter 11 Before the Exam
”Hehe, we’ll still pay the fare, but I don’t want us to encounter robbers on the way.” Moranxiu said with a light smile, not picking up the few silver coins.

Although he knew that these two coachmen were not good people, it would be useless to kill them now.Besides, without them, who would drive the car?

”Yes... yes...” The two coachmen nodded gratefully. They had a strange feeling, as if this little mage knew everything, which made them break out in a cold sweat.

The second time Moranxiu and Maude boarded the car, they felt that the space in the car had suddenly become much larger. The two young men crowded into a small corner, and even the woman with the two children looked at Moranxiu with a look of horror. The reputation of a magician can be seen in the Holy Spirit Continent.

There were no accidents on the next journey. The two coachmen were much more diligent than before. Every time they arrived in a town, they would ask Moranxiu and his son if they needed to buy anything.

Moranxiu enjoyed this feeling quite a bit, magician, but it was different.

After another day, the carriage finally entered the city of Sophie.

As one of the top ten cities in Carlisle, Sophie is indeed extremely prosperous. There are as many stores on both sides of the street as there are stars, and there is a constant flow of people on the street, and carriages can be seen everywhere like bricks.

Through the back door of the carriage, Moranxiu was full of curiosity about everything he saw.As for Mod, it was also the first time he came to such a prosperous place, and the most prosperous place he knew was Qinghe Town.Looking at it now, that was really watching the sky from the bottom of a well.

After walking on the streets of the city for a while, the coachman stopped the carriage and had already arrived at the station of Sophie City.

Everyone got out of the car and bid farewell to Moranxiu cautiously. The seriously ill old man looked at Mo Lanxiu with his strange eyes again, and Mo Lanxiu always felt that there was another meaning in those eyes.

With the sound of coughing, the old man disappeared into the vast crowd.

The streets are full of swordsmen with long swords on their backs. They are in groups of three or four, wearing gorgeous swordsman costumes, walking proudly on the street. And the primitive animal skin clothes worn by Maude became a special sight on the street. No matter where you go, you can always attract a lot of attention.

The Moranxiu father and son didn’t care about it, they didn’t care.

After asking about the location of the college, Moranxiu and Moder rushed towards the college. But when they arrived at the academy, they found out that the original assessment time was a week later, and it was a potential test at the Magician’s Guild.

At that time, not only Mulan Academy, but also some other magic academies would recruit new students.Of course, the total number of people recruited by these colleges in Sophie City is only a few hundred people. As for Mulan College, the number of people enrolled in Sophie City will not exceed fifty.

Then, Moranxiu and his son came to the Academy of Magic and filled out an application form. They didn’t know that there were more than 1 people who came to Sophie City to participate in the assessment this year.Of course, not everyone can sign up. They must have the ability to absorb magic power, that is to say, they must be at least a magic apprentice, and they must be under the age of 15.

Registration fee, ten gold coins.

When Maude heard that only the registration fee would cost ten gold coins, he almost fainted from fright.Ten gold coins are enough for an ordinary hunter to live for ten years. And a simple registration costs ten gold coins, what about the tuition?

”Father, your complexion is not very good?”

After walking out of the Magician’s Guild, Moranxiu looked at Maude suspiciously, his father’s face was a little pale.

”Cough, hehe.” Maud smiled.

It was as if there was a big drum in his heart, beating non-stop.Originally, he thought that maybe more than 100 gold coins would not be used up no matter what, but now it seems that it may not be enough. But he couldn’t let Moranxiu see his difficulties. As a father, he couldn’t put any burden on the child, and he had to bear it firmly.

”I’m fine, Moranxiu, let’s find a place to live, and we’ll take the assessment in a week. After you pass, I’ll go back to the village.” Mo De and Moranxiu walked on the street, constantly beside them Pedestrians walked by.

Most of the ladies covered their mouths and smiled when they saw Maud’s outfit.

After all, in the city of Sophie, it is rare to see people who directly put animal skins on their bodies.

In a small hotel in a side street, Maud found a nice room for a silver coin a night. This price seems to be the cheapest in Sophie City. They asked more than a dozen people one after another, and they wanted at least two or three silver coins for one night.

”Father, it seems that a lot of money is needed to live here.” Moranxiu sat on the bed, watching his father close the door.

”Yeah, the life here is not comparable to that in our small place. You see, at this time, there are still so many people on the street.” Maud stood at the window and looked out. With so many people, there must be more people on the street.

……

As long as there is a little time, Moranxiu will use it to practice.

A week passed by quickly.During this week, Moranxiu and Moder spent one gold coin for accommodation and meals.

How much prey do you have to kill to earn it back?Maud thought distressedly.

The Magicians Guild ushered in the busiest day of the year. All the magic academies in the kingdom will enroll students on this day, and the Magician’s Guild is where they enroll. Here, every student who signs up for the assessment must pass the potential test.

This potential test also indicates what kind of achievements this person will achieve in the future.

The potential test is to test a person’s elemental perception and spiritual power. These two things are the foundation of a magician.Perception and mental power are divided into seven levels from one star to seven stars. The more stars, the greater the potential.

Moranxiu and Maude didn’t understand this at all, anyway, they just followed others to do it.

When they arrived at the Wizards Guild, it was already crowded with people, even the steps were full of people. These people are almost all nobles. The profession of a magician requires an expensive price when practicing. If you are not a nobleman, you must be a businessman.

”Hey, Rob, look, that guy seems to be bringing a child to participate in the assessment.” A nobleman wearing a splendid dress and a velvet felt hat pointed at Maude and laughed loudly.

”Ha, these days, it seems that nothing is worth being curious about.” Luo Bo looked in this direction and said with great interest.

”By the way, your child is ten years old this year. How is it? Are you sure to pass the test?” Led Baoding said about the child, his eyes lit up.

He has full confidence in his own children, and he specially spent money to hire an intermediate magician to train the children, which is not a small expense. For this he had to cut his entertainment in half.

”Who knows, he will know the result.” Luo Bo’s expression suddenly became a little ugly, as if he didn’t have much confidence in his child.

”Everyone be quiet!” At this time, an old man wearing a magician’s robe came out, raised his right hand to signal everyone not to make noise, he had a long white beard, and seemed to have strong magic.

”Look, Great Mage Crowe.” A person below said.

”Now, please come to the front to draw lots. When the assessment is done later, it will be done in the order of drawing lots.” Crowe’s voice was not loud, but everyone present could hear him clearly. He used a magic spell.

”Mo Lanxiu, do you know what to do?” Maude looked a little unnatural. It was his first experience of this scene, and he almost couldn’t figure out what was going on.

”Father, I know how to do it. I’ll go draw lots now.” Moranxiu smiled.
