First Magician

Chapter 8 On the RoadChapter 8 On the Road
”Father, there are only two of us, why do we need to buy three sets of clothes?” Moranxiu changed into the clothes he just bought in the store, looking much more refined than before.

”Hehe, these three sets of clothes are all for you. You must have a change of clothes when you live in the academy.” Moder said with a smile.

He took the other two brand new clothes and handed over four silver coins and five hundred copper coins to the clerk.

”But...” Moranxiu seemed to have something stuck in his heart, but he couldn’t speak.

”Mo Lanxiu, as long as you can become an intermediate magician in the future, our Algu Village will undergo great changes. Now, don’t worry about me and the village, understand?” Moder interrupted Moranxiu’s words , took Moran out of the clothing store.

Moranxiu nodded. Although he was still young, he understood everything.

After buying some dry food for the road in the town, Maud brought Moranxiu to the station. It takes three days to get to Sophie City, which is the second closest city to Qinghe Town. The nearest city to Qinghe Town is Hughes City, and it only takes one day and one night to get there by carriage.

”Father, have you ever been in a carriage?” Moran Xiu asked looking at the carriage.

”Of course I’ve sat in the carriage, it’s very comfortable.” Maud hesitated slightly. He did ride in a carriage, but that was eight years ago when he was married. As for what it was like to ride a carriage, he had already forgotten it, and what he remembered was probably quite comfortable. When you get married, it is certainly comfortable to ride in a carriage.

Maude and Moranxiu entered the station and began to negotiate the price with the groom.

To Sophie City, a person needs to spend three silver coins. And Moranxiu is just a child, and only needs two silver coins.

Maude and Moran got into the carriage and saw that there were already several people in the carriage. In addition to a woman and two children, there was also an old man who was dressed in black and had a sallow complexion. He seemed to be seriously ill and was coughing non-stop in the carriage.

”Mo Lanxiu, let’s go inside.” Maude said to Moranxiu when he saw that there were still vacant seats in the carriage.

”Okay.” Mo Lanxiu responded and walked over first.

After a while, two more people came up from the outside. These two people were well dressed, and they were not very old, only in their 20s.As soon as they got into the car, their eyes rolled around, sweeping over several people, and then fixed on the position next to the woman.

”Sister, there is only so much space in the carriage, can you give the child a little space for the two of us to sit?” one of the two, a young man with a mustache, said to the woman.

The woman looked up at him, then nodded and did not speak, she just pulled up the girl on the left and sat on her lap. Then two young men sat down beside her.

”Everyone, we are leaving now. We are taking the official road, and there are very few stops on the road until Sophie City. Do you understand?” Two drivers stood outside the carriage and said to everyone.

Seeing that no one answered, one of the two drivers also entered the carriage, while the other went to drive. The two coachmen will take turns driving day and night, without stopping too much on the road, until the terminal of Sophie City.

The carriage started slowly and headed slowly in the direction of Sophie City.

At first, it was really comfortable to sit on.But after two hours, Moranxiu moved his butt unaccustomed, the carriage was really bumpy.Thinking about sitting for three days and three nights, Moranxiu frowned. He looked at his father, who seemed to be very used to it, and didn’t respond at all.

Moranxiu sat up straight again, he wanted to do what his father did.

”Damn, it’s really crazy.” The small eyes of the two young people moved their bodies and said uncleanly.

”Hmph, now I know it’s bumpy. I said earlier that the carriage is bumpy, so you insist on sitting.” Mustache snorted.

”Damn it, if you have enough money, do you think I’d be willing to live in this crappy place?” Small eyes and eyeballs stared, mouth tilted and said angrily.

Mustache didn’t seem to want to argue with him, so he stopped talking and turned to look at the girl lying in the woman’s arms. The girl is about four or five years old, while the boy on the right side of the woman is about six or seven years old. Both children are well behaved, neither talking nor crying.

The old man sitting in the carriage closest to the door remained silent, with no expression on his sallow face.

”Hey, big sister, what’s the matter with you going to Sophie City?” Mustache asked with a smile.

When the woman heard the question, her face showed a trace of unnaturalness, as if she didn’t often deal with people.

But she still said: ”My husband works in Sophie City, and I took the children to find him.”

When Xiao Huzi heard this, he forced a smile on his face and said: ”This kid is really good, he doesn’t cry or make trouble.”

”Yes, the child has been obedient since childhood.” The woman nodded and smiled.

”Cough...cough...” The old man coughed again at this moment.

”Damn, unlucky, don’t die halfway.” Xiaoyan squeezed out a few words from his mouth and said meanly.

Although his voice is not loud, but the compartment is very small, if the old man has no hearing problems, he can definitely hear it.But the old man didn’t seem to hear anything, and didn’t even look up.

Moranxiu and Maude didn’t talk much, and they took out some dry food when they were hungry on the road, and so did the others. The mustache and the woman hit it off quite well, and they became more and more familiar with each other.

On the afternoon of the second day, the carriage had arrived in William Town.Although William Town is just a town, it is much larger than the average town, barely counting as a small town.William Town is located in the center of the traffic arteries, and there are many traffic roads between cities in all directions, which run through William Town, so it has gradually formed a traffic hub-like place.

The carriage stopped in William Town for half an hour, and everyone bought some supplies before continuing on the road.

”Half gone already.” Maude said to Moranxiu.

After running around for a day and a half, Moranxiu felt that his butt was about to swell. He touched it with his small hands from time to time, but fortunately, there was no obvious swelling feeling.

”Father, are you going back to the village after you send me?” Mo Lanxiu looked at his father, and he was still a little apprehensive about living alone in a strange place in the future. After all, he was just an eight-year-old child who had never traveled far.

”Well, Moranxiu, you have grown up. Every year, I will go to Sophie City to see you once.” Moder touched Moranxiu’s head and said with a smile in his eyes.

”Hey, what are you going to Sophie City for? It looks like you want to send the child there?” The mustache seemed to be talking a lot, and at this time he heard the conversation between Mod and Moranxiu, so he interjected and asked.

”Oh, Mulan Academy of Magic is about to recruit students, and my child is going to take the assessment.” Moder said directly.

Son is a magician, make him proud!
”What? Magnolia Academy?” The mustache blew up all of a sudden, and the young man with small eyes widened his eyes to the maximum, magician?
”You mean, your child is going to study magic at Mulan Academy?” Mustache took a few breaths and asked in a trembling voice.

”That’s right!” Maude nodded, and said in an affirmative tone.

”Hehe, I’m afraid you don’t know that not all the children are recruited by Mulan Academy. Even if you are rich, if you don’t have talent, you won’t be able to get in. Besides, judging by your attire, it seems that you came from the mountains, right?” Mustache looked at Maude and Moranxiu, and he felt that these two mountain people seemed to be daydreaming.

”Hmph, don’t cats and dogs want to learn magic now?” There was a sneer in his small eyes, and Hao couldn’t hide his contempt.
