The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 540 - 285: Little Seagull Magic: Predictive Miracle_2
”Okay, I’m done,” Li Yuntang signaled to Su Xiaoou.

”Is it under... the number three cup?” Su Xiaoou closed her eyes briefly, then said.

”Right.” Li Yuntang’s eyes widened, but she wasn’t shocked just yet, after all, it was really just a fifty-fifty chance.

”Very good, everything just now was but a prelude, its purpose to let you clearly feel how imaginary magic happens. What follows is the main event,” Su Xiaoou continued, speeding up her speech.

Beside her, Jiang Shu also blinked, seemingly having sensed something.

It always seemed like Su Xiaoou’s performance pace had suddenly quickened.

”Okay,” Li Yuntang said.

”The same three cups, numbers one to three, which one will you choose?” Su Xiaoou asked, her tone urgent, ”Don’t hesitate, just tell me.”

”Number two,” Li Yuntang said without thinking.

”Now imagine a die, roll it at will, and tell me what number you got?” Su Xiaoou continued.

Li Yuntang paused for a moment, then replied, ”Five.”

”Alright, now place your banknote in the number two cup you chose, then pour it into the adjacent cup, doing this five times in a row. Remember, you can only pour into adjacent cups, you can’t go from one to three,” Su Xiaoou explained swiftly with hand gestures, making sure the rules were clear, ”Tell me when you have done all of this.”

After a while, Li Yuntang came back to her senses and nodded, ”I’m ready.”

”Good, now roll the die again and tell me what number you got?” Su Xiaoou stared at her, her eyes seemingly able to see through Li Yuntang completely.

”Three,” Li Yuntang answered.

”Then follow the same rules and pour three more times, then remember your cup,” Su Xiaoou instructed.

”Okay,” Li Yuntang mentally repeated the process.

”Now, look into my eyes...,” Su Xiaoou gazed into Li Yuntang’s eyes, shimmering like water ripples, and slowly said, ”Let’s confirm that everything just now happened in your imagination, and that everything was randomly obtained, right?”

”Right.” Li Yuntang recounted and didn’t spot any apparent flaws.

She had chosen the cup herself, rolled the die herself, and poured the money in the direction she had chosen.

There was nowhere for any tricks; the cup, die, and money were all products of her imagination and couldn’t have been due to any magic props.

”So...” Su Xiaoou drew out her speech, ”is it the number two cup?”

”Eh? How did you know?” Li Yuntang was stunned. Although she was mentally prepared, she did not expect Su Xiaoou to state it so effortlessly.

How could she possibly know the result that existed only in her imagination?!

And the audience in the auditorium also blinked, understanding what had transpired and that it seemed quite impressive, but since it was not happening in reality, they were less immersed, simply feeling a sense of bewilderment.

All of this was naturally captured by Jiang Shu.

In that case, this would be considered a flaw.

Other than Li Yuntang herself, the audience’s sense of participation was weak, so this little magic trick might not be suitable for inclusion in a stage magic show but was better suited for one-on-one performances.

”Of course, you might still think that this is just a one-in-three chance and nothing strange,” Su Xiaoou shrugged her shoulders, ”And now, the real prediction begins. Think of a name in your mind, best someone you’ve been paying attention to and contacting lately, the more recent, the better, the more recent, the more accurate the prediction will be.”

”Okay,” Li Yuntang frowned slightly, seemingly still pondering the magic trick, but she couldn’t comprehend how Su Xiaoou had accurately hit the cup in her imagination.

”Now, write the initials of each character of this name on the side of this deck of cards, right here,” Su Xiaoou handed Li Yuntang the deck, pointing at the side formed by the thickness of the cards, ”Of course, you can check if it’s a normal deck of cards; I assure you, it hasn’t been tampered with.”

”Yes, this is a regular deck of cards,” Li Yuntang flipped through it casually, nodded, and then took the marker Su Xiaoou handed her.

”Now you can write. I hope you write it big, standing tall,” Su Xiaoou continued.

”Oh,” Li Yuntang then wrote two capital letters ”J” and ”S” on the side.

Jiang Shu’s brow twitched.

JS?

Isn’t that me?

Er...

Suddenly, he seemed to think of something, and his expression turned strange again.

Su Xiaoou!

I urge you to be kind!

Don’t bring up any godforsaken fated romance!

Jiang Shu maintained a gentlemanly smile on his face; at such a moment, he couldn’t stop Su Xiaoou and could only look towards Liu Tingruo in the audience.

Liu Tingruo, sitting center stage, had an unchanged expression, not perturbed in the least.

”Okay, give me the deck of cards.” Su Xiaoou said, taking the deck from Li Yuntang.

”Now let me shuffle the cards a bit.” She started an impressive shuffling routine and said, ”Now imagine there are four squares in front of you, number them from left to right one to four, please choose one.”
