Super Electric Eel Avatar

134 Money Laundering
Walking around the campus, looking at the familiar grass and trees, Chen Fan could not help but sigh and shake his head. Chen Fan led Yun Meng through a road of bluestones, pine trees, and green bamboo bushes to the Octagonal Building.

Knock Knock...

Chen Fan tapped on the door of the principal’s office.

”The door is unlocked. Come in!” As the banging on the door continued, a loud voice came from the room, issuing an invitation for Chen Fan to enter. Pushing open the door, Chen Fan stepped into the room.

”You are?” The voice of inquiry came from behind a pile of documents on the table, where a man in his forties with a square face was peering out at him.

”Principal Huang, my name is Chen Fan,” Chen Fan waved at Yun Meng, who stood outside the door. ”It’s Uncle Zhang, the one who asked me to come to you…”

”Oh, I see!” Principal Huang rose from his chair with a smile. ”Mr.Chen is very young! When Zhang Aiguo spoke of you to me, he said that you were his business partner. You are so young to have reached such success!”

”Not at all,” Chen Fan smiled, answering him humbly. He felt awkward in his heart. It turned out that this guy was Huang Guangyu! He used to quarrel with him at the school assemblies! Chen Fan could tell that he did not recognize him.

”Mr Chen, which grade will she be joining?” Principal Huang drew an application form from the desk and handed it to Chen Fan.

”Grade 12!”

”Ok, then, if it’s grade 12…..” Principal Huang knocked on the table in front of him. ”I shall assign her to Class One, which is the key class for the third year. The teacher for this class has three teachers, who have all won the title of ’Senior teacher.’”

”Thank you, Principal Huang.” Chen Fan was a former student of this school, so he knew that he was telling the truth.

”As for the fees, the book expenses for half a semester, plus other expenses, come to a total of five thousand and eight hundred!” Principal Huang drew out a receipt and wrote a note. ”Take the note to get the book first, and I will introduce you to the teacher in Class One.”

”Ah…” Yun Meng, who was standing behind Chen Fan, was stunned, her little face full of surprise.

Pulling out a stack of cash from the chest pocket of his jacket, Chen Fan passed some to Principal Huang. He then took the note, ready to go to the Academic Affairs Office to get the books.

”Chen Fan, you have been cheated by that man! Five thousand eight hundred is too much!”

As soon as they were out of the principal’s office, Yun Meng refused to hold back her comments, as he hurried forward to pull Chen Fan’s arm. Just now, in the principal’s office, she had even tried to interrupt Chen Fan several times, but she knew in her heart that it would only have made the situation awkward, so she had waited to approach Chen Fan with her concerns.

”This guy didn’t lie to me,” Chen Fan grinned. ”When I was in school, it was only a few hundred dollars cheaper than this fee. In fact, the fees here are all like this.”

”After six years of school, that would be more than 60,000….” Yun Meng was completely stunned.

...

The number of books assigned in grade 12 was more than 20, before even counting the review material texts!

”Go to class first, then I will buy you a satchel and wait for you at the school gate,” Chen Fan instructed, while walking in the corridor of the white teaching building. ”According to my experience, most of the grade 12 courses are to consolidate your knowledge from before, so as long as you take your time, you should be able to catch up gradually.”

”Okay…” Yun Meng replied absent-mindedly. This would be the first time that she had entered a classroom in three years. Obviously, she was pretty nervous.

The door of the classroom was ajar, and the students could be heard being given a mathematics equation that gave even Chen Fan a headache! Chen Fan carried the books to the green door.

He coughed twice and interrupted the female teacher mid-speech. Hearing someone coughing outside her door, the old woman turned her face and shot Chen Fan a suspicious look.

This….This….

Isn’t he too old?

He seems to be in his twenties, so surely he can’t be entering a grade 12 class?!

Although the teacher was surprised at how old this person was, this arrangement had been made by the principal, so she did not have any right to refuse it.

”Class, let’s welcome our new student with a big round of applause.” The female teacher smiled at Chen Fan. ”New student, would you please introduce yourself at the podium?”

Clap...clap...

There were more than 40 pairs of curious eyes, staring up at Chen Fan.

”What!?”

Chen Fan quickly turned his head to look for Yun Meng, only to find that she was shrinking into the corner of a wall at the back of the classroom, staring nervously at him. The expression on her face was the same as that of Chen Fan’s, when he had first started kindergarten!

”Go!” Chen Fan encouraged her.

Hiss...

”Okay...”

As Yun Meng timidly walked to the front of the classroom, the whole class, including the teacher, issued a jointly amazed gasp.

”Hello, everyone….” Yun Meng started, still very nervous, ”My name...is….Yun Meng….”

Clap clap clap...

Under the invisible pressure, Chen Fan put a thick pile of books in the empty seat, completely ignoring Yun Meng’s helpless signals to him. He then left the classroom quickly.

”This is not a nice place to stay,” Chen Fan mumbled to himself, while walking out of the classroom and ruthlessly loosening his collar.

At that time, the mindset of Yun Meng was no better than Chen Fan’s, as she sat there alone in a vacant seat. The contents of the teacher’s lecture, for her, was no less than the scripture from the wizards. She didn’t understand a thing!

Fortunately, after five minutes, there was a nice chiming sound that came from outside the window, which caused the female teacher to stop teaching and walk out of the classroom with her lesson plan.

”The class is over?” Yun Meng looked around in confusion.

”Where are you from, young lady? How old are you?”

At this time, a beautiful lady sat down beside Yun Meng, and before Yun Meng could even answer, the lady added, ”Who was that man with you just now?”

”He…..is…..my…..brother….”

”Your brother? I don’t think so.”

The young girl touched Yun Meng’s shoulder with her left hand, then lifted her scattered hair on her forehead with her right hand. ”My name is Ma Ruoxi. If anyone dares to bully you, just say my name!”

...

”Boss, how much is this thing?” Chen Fan asked, as he pointed to a satchel with a rabbit’s face on it.

”One hundred and twenty-seven.” the tall and thin shopkeeper ran up and pointed to the satchel. ”This is the latest style, which just came out last week, and the shops around the school are selling them like crazy….”

”Then, give me two.” Chen Fan took out three bills from his wallet.

After buying two satchels, Chen Fan walked into a mobile store and chose a relatively small Nokia phone. These days, even the children in elementary school all carried mobile phones. By giving Yun Meng a mobile phone, Yun Meng could contact him if anything happened.

”School is over at 11:50…” Sitting in the car, Chen Fan looked at the watch, seeing that today’s class had two and a half hours to go.

With some time to kill, Chen Fan drove to the seaside pier. Since the first poisonous sac became Ghost Moon Incense, it was eaten by the electric eel. So far, there were nine cysts, six of which had achieved a successful metamorphosis, while the remaining three were left by the umbrella-body ghost jellyfish. However, their metamorphosis’ are estimated to be soon!

Opening the dock’s gate, Chen Fan turned off two electric fans and solar lights, then climbed onto the roof and uncovered the fire blanket, allowing some natural light to reach the remaining three crystal surfaces. The other five Ghost Moon Incense had been picked up by Chen Fan for the eels to consume when they returned.

These three poisonous sacs, which had not yet completely metamorphosed, had gradually begun to exude a charming scent. Whenever Chen Fan smelled it, the electric eel body in his mind would accelerate the secretion of the adrenal gland. The strong desire to devour it, brought the intention to immediately jump in the water and consume one.

”Oh, my Ghost Moon Incense.” Chen Fan stared at the three gray-white spheres that had now become the size of a washbasin. These days, Chen Fan had been looking for information on the Internet to see if he could find out more about the big cave in the Tonga.

But, the results had been disappointing. Not only was there no information about the cave, but not even a single word could he find about the species of the ghost hair jellyfish!

Although Chen Fan did not know much about the ocean, he understood how strange the cave was, not only because of its huge space, but also because it could breed so many strange creatures within it!

”Don’t reproduce something like Godzilla.” Chen Fan muttered to himself, the corner of his mouth twitching as he sighed.

Chen Fan straightened up and moved his legs, then turned on the electric fan and the sun lamp, covered the fire blanket, and drove in the direction of Yu Chai Middle School. At the gate of the middle school, Chen Fan looked at the time. He still had 10 minutes left before school ended.

After he turned on the car’s radio and listened to three songs, the school’s door slowly opened. Stepping off his car, Chen Fan came to the side of the electric gate and stretched out his head to look inside, trying to find Yun Meng.

After waiting about two minutes, Chen Fan saw a lady elf standing amid the countless sea of students, holding a stack of books in her arms.

”Hey?” Chen Fan was stunned.

Wasn’t that the little girl who had walked with Yun Meng, Ma Rongtao’s daughter, Ma Ruoxi?

Why is she at this school?

At this time, Yun Meng rushed towards Chen Fan, passing through countless people to get to him. In this completely strange, completely confused environment, Chen Fan was her only consistent thing. Hence, she really depended on him. In fact, if Chen Fan did not wait for her at the school gate, she would not have even known how to get home!

”Greetings, Big Brother Chen Fan.” Ma Ruoxi saw Chen Fan, then followed Yun Meng to say hello.

”Are you in the same class with Yun Meng?” Chen Fan quickly looked for a topic to talk about casually.

”Yeah.” Ma Ruoxi raised her eyebrows at Chen Fan. ”Put your trust in me! I can guarantee, no boys will hit on her at school.”

This promise directly turned Yun Meng into a ripe persimmon, as a touch of red spread under her eyes, quickly travelling towards her neck. It was a deep, shy blush indeed!

A bashful face always strikes a man’s heartstrings, especially one that belongs to a pretty girl with a pretty face. So, seeing her, Chen Fan was naturally shaken. But, luckily, Chen Fan was a man who knew to bind his instincts with propriety and integrity!

”You….” Chen Fan shook his head. When he was eating at Ma Rongtao’s house, Chen Fan had thought that she was very quiet and ladylike, but the truth that he had ultimately found was disappointing...

”Goodbye Big Brother Chen Fan! My ride is waiting for me at the gate!” Ma Ruoxi pushed Yun Meng towards Chen Fan, then stuck out her tongue and ran away.

”Well, did you understand the stuff the teacher said today?” Chen Fan led her to the left side of the car, while curbing his desire to replace the word stuff with ”sh*t.”

”I didn’t understand…” Yun Meng looked at Chen Fan, confused by him. She felt a lot of pressure lately, regarding her new schooling.

”It doesn’t matter if you know it or not, as you will probably forget it anyway!”

Chen Fan handed her the cell phone in his pocket and said, ”I bought you this phone. It contains my phone number and my parents’ number. If anything happens, please call us immediately.”

After hesitating for a long time, Yun Meng accepted the mobile phone, trying not to blush. In her heart, she already regarded Chen Fan as her future husband.

”Chen Fan, my teacher said that every student must wear a school uniform…” Yun Meng held the satchel that Chen Fan had bought for her, as she whispered the words.

”Well!” Chen Fan took some money of his pocket and handed it to her. ”After paying the school uniform fee, keep the rest to buy some food and other things. Tell me if you need more.”

Back at home, Yun Meng put down the satchel and went to the kitchen, saying that she wanted to have lunch. But, she didn’t know how to use the modern kitchen, so she had to ask Chen Fan for help.

Chen Fan tried to teach her how to cook, but ended up just ordering two takeout meals instead. At the dinner table, neither of them were that comfortable or familiar with each other’s interests, so there were no topics to talk about. After Chen Fan finished his meal, he went into the bedroom.

After Yun Meng cleaned up the table, she went to her bedroom to study. Back in his bedroom, Chen Fan turned on the computer and continued searching for information.

This time, he was not looking for the cave in the Tonga, but rather was researching a high-tech criminal activity that he started yesterday...Money laundering!

The sum that Chen Fan was dealing with was about $500 million USD! If it was just a small amount, and a little bit of spending, or involved only using the company’s accounts and slowly spending it, that would be fine.

But, Chen Fan knew that he couldn’t leave the nearly full truckload of dollar bills at home and change it day by day. At that rate, he would not finish ever, even by the time that he died! So, it was very necessary for him to study how to launder money correctly and secretly.

When he searched the Internet, there was a lot of information that he found online, some of which was very lively. Other than data on antiques, the stock market, casinos, securities and overseas companies, there were other detailed steps regarding operations also provided. There were even various websites that popped up, which shed some light on specific companies connected to that niche.

But, Chen wouldn’t be stupid enough to find or deal with those companies, as he knew that there were all kinds of illegal businesses on the Internet, 99 percent of which were utterly fraudulent!
