Super Electric Eel Avatar

121 The Success Of The War
Now that he had found the nest of the ghost hair jellyfish, the essential thing Chen Fan felt like doing now was to rush in and kill all of them!

However, it was only a mischievous thought. Chen Fan was not going to do that

”Seven Benevolences by Wen Zi’ said,”Do not drain the pond to fish, do not burn the forest to hunt.” Of course, Chen Fan understood the meaning of this sentence which meant promote sustainable development and be far-sighted.

Chen Fan was ready to make this cave his long-term future goal. He would take three months for a small hunt, and ten months for a large hunt, slowly making the electric eel stronger.

After resting for more than an hour, the electric eel took a deep breath and headed down into the trench. This time, Chen Fan’s goal was to dive to the large rock near the cave. The main reason for this dive was to retrieve his alloy spear that was still on the rock!

Ten minutes later, the electric eel carefully reached the depth of three thousand meters, then slowly adjusted its voltage output to three thousand volts and was prepared to slip away anytime.

What made Chen Fan happy and disappointed at the same time was that the horizontal spear was still intact on the rock. But the ghost hair jellyfish had disappeared, according to the trace the spear made as it was moved. It must have been the other ghost hair jellyfish that came and dragged the dead ghost hair jellyfish back to their cave.

Extending the voltage to six thousand volts, Chen Fan found no traces of the jellyfish in the 100-meter circumference around the cave.

Boom...

The electric eel had become very gutsy, and it increased the voltage power to the highest!

The electromagnetic induction in his mind showed Chen Fan that there was still no sign of the jellyfish at the end of the released voltage.

After two seconds of hesitation, the electric eel held its breath, and with several swings of its tail it dove to the huge rock, then grabbed its spear with its fore claws.

Holding the spear pointing downwards, it swam close to the top of the cave. It was prepared to attack at any time. The electric eel again released a bluish white electricity from its body. Chen Fan was carefully trying to detect just how big the cave was.

With a distance that close, the electric eel could detect at the depth of nearly 600 meters.

The structure of the cave was strange. The top was about 300 meters above the floor, but it was just the height, excluding the features, that the electric eel could not detect.

With the detection limitations, he could not detect the end of the cave. The cave was still sloping downward, which meant that the more it went down, the thicker the wall.

Five hundred meters away, there was no sign of any ghost hair jellyfish.

Chen Fan thought that the cave could only hold about a dozen ghost hair jellyfish, but now it seemed that this thought was too conservative.

Including the young jellyfish, the one that was dead, and the two big ghost hair jellyfish with the big 20-meter diameter umbrella body and one hundred and thirty meter long white whiskers, they required at least a space of a thousand meter area for them to move freely.

But now...?

Within five hundred meters, there was no movement at all!

What does this mean? This represents an increase of 500 meters and at least one kilometer in height!

”The deeper the better, of course!” The bigger the cave, the more ghost hair jellyfish were living in it, and that meant the power of the electric eel could be increased.

Floating at two to three hundred meters, the electric eel used its claws to hold the cliff of the cave and stood motionless. It used a voltage of 1,500 to detect the environment above the hole.

Since the electric eel couldn’t go deep into the cave to hunt, it would just hide outside to wait for its prey.

The electric eel could only spend 15 minutes at this location, then it had to float a few hundred meters above. The voltage used to detect was getting weaker. Chen Fan prayed that his prey would appear within 15 minutes.

Seven minutes later, he was startled again and his jaw dropped!

It was not a 20-meter ghost hair jellyfish that Chen Fan found difficult to deal with!

But...

From the bottom of the cave, came a creepie... monster.

It was black, and from the middle of the forehead was a long, thin, red bar straight to the end of the terrifying fish.

The monster was 26 or 27 meters long, with a duck beak-shaped mouth, a black thick cylindrical body with no scales, and a long thin tail that was one and a half times longer than its body that spun like a wheel.

”What the hell is this?” Chen Fan couldn’t find any information about the creature in his mind. But his subconscious mind told him that if this creature could live in a cave with the ghost hair jellyfish then he believed that this fish had some special ability.

Swish!

This terrifying monster that looked like a huge elongated tadpole, lifted its tail above its head like a scorpion and motionlessly gazed at the electric eel.

Animals have two kinds of posture when they encounter enemies: one is to run away, and one is to guard against.

When they are on guard, they will display their most aggressive parts first.

The serpent’s fangs, the tiger’s claws, the scorpion raises its poison sting...!

There was no doubt that this monster’s tail was the most offensive tool of its kind and 10,000 percent that it was poisonous.

Chen Fan muttered secretly in his heart. ”You are not impulsive, then I am not impulsive too!”

He did not want to provoke any creature that was poisonous. Who knows if it was like the ghost hair jellyfish that could rely on the thick greasy tissue to resist high voltage.

After staring at each other for 30 seconds, the creature slowly lowered its tail and then swam out to the deep sea. The electric eel relaxed its grip on the spear!

The deep-sea creature was a challenge to his comprehension. All kinds of extraordinary things always appeared.

After encountering them so many times, Chen Fan even thought that if he saw the ”goddess of the world” one day, he would be very uninspired to face her.

However, it was not surprising that Chen Fan’s knowledge of Marine life was very poor. So far, 90 percent of the deep-sea species were waiting for the humans to name them; large and small.

Just in the year 2006, a deep-sea detector from the United States found more than 100 new species in the process of diving to more than 6,000 meters depths.

After a few minutes of waiting, the electric eel still had no trace of the jellyfish, and Chen Fan had to float to the shallow water.

An hour later, he came back to the spot, and he had good fortune. After waiting for seven or eight minutes, an eight-meter ghost hair jellyfish came out of the cave.

The electric eel finally caught the eight-meter-long ghost hair jellyfish, after a dozen minutes of stalking it. By the time it was ideal to attack with the spear, it killed the ghost hair jellyfish.

...

After three days into Chen Fan’s stalking process, he felt that his comprehension had become more and more inadequate. At first, he thought the cave could be thousands of meters in size. But now it seems that even tens of thousands of meters was considered a conservative estimation.

Of course, the tens of thousands of meters would not be the height, since the deepest part of the ocean is just over 10,000 meters.

If counting the length and width, Chen Fan didn’t think this was an exaggeration. Just in stalking the past two days, he saw the ghost hair jellyfish five times. The electric eel killed three ghost hair jellyfish that were less than 12 meters in diameter, and left two of them that were too large and did not float high enough. Now that he had found the nest he would not have the risk involved in hunting them.

Nine other times, he found other unrelated creatures that were found in two forms. All of them had greasy skin and were large and odd-looking.

Two forms of fish appeared. The ”scorpion fish” appeared five times, and was on average ten meters long. The other one was a blue striped fish that appeared four times. This big, blue-striped fish was by no means a good thing. There was an arc that grew out of its forehead like a horn that looked like a narwhal’s.

Chen Fan would never have considered the five-meter hollow horn to be a result of osteoporosis.

What does all this mean?

It meant that this cave was a ”one hundred percent”, huge, self-contained ecosystem. In this ecosystem there was an unknown material and if not for this material there would not be that many weird looking, poisonous creatures. This was not surprising. There was a deep pool on the Canglong mountain in the suburb of Zhongyun city where there was a fish that was called ”the pearl of the night”, that had not been found in any part of the world.

”The pearl of the night” was the size of the palm. Its body was completely transparent. With close observation, the skeleton could be seen, but not clearly. During the day, people couldn’t find traces of this fish at all. They could only spot it in the middle of the night by the dim light it released from its body. The fish had already been listed as a key conservation project three years ago by the endangered species protection association. In fact, not only in Zhongyun city in China were there many such deep pools, but they were also found in all parts of the country. Some unique species could more or less be found less frequently whereas finding the ”pearl of the night” was more typical.

The next day...

After resting for a while, the electric eel cleaned up the seven-meter-diameter ghost hair jellyfish. He did not dive directly into the deep sea, but wandered around the shallow waters looking for a large fish’s trail.

These days, the number of ghost-haired jellyfish had dwindled, and Chen Fan wondered if it was the same as the Javanese rhinoceros that lived in Indonesia, with fewer than 60 of them in the world.

He waited at least half a day just to hunt this ghost hair jellyfish.

Chen Fan had now killed ten of them, excluding the one that was lost, leaving nine of the poison sacs that were of different sizes. Judging by their sizes, the nine would at least double the eel’s power.

Chen Fan decided to stop hunting and come back again after some time. Maybe he would be able to get into the cave and get a glimpse of it at that time.

As for why he wanted to find a large fish’s trail?

It was simple: the poisons were still watery, and it was the poison that prevented the scent from coming out. Chen Fan still thought that it was better to find a large fish skin to wrap them up in.

Finding and capturing a large fish in the shallow sea would be like a little kid encountering a deep-sea monster. The electric eel was able to release tens of thousands of volts over the course of a dozen seconds which was strong enough to turn over an eleven-meter-long whale.

Dealing with its hunger at the same time, it used its four claws to rip the skin for about half an hour, fortunately, he did not burn the skin when he attacked it with his high voltage.

He carefully excavated the poison sac buried in the sand with the whale’s jaws and then put it inside the fish skin. The front claws held the nine ghost hair jellyfish’s poison sac wrapped in the fish skin.

Feeling reluctant to leave, the electric eel wagged its tail and swam towards the Zhongyun city.
