Struggling to Survive with Regression Power in the Primordial Saint Sect

Chapter 550: “Hong Yun Deserved to Die!

The Sacred Sect has fallen!

Lu Yang was stunned for quite a while before he could react to this shocking news. Once he connected it with the history of the current world, he quickly figured out the cause and effect:

『Because of True Lord Feixue.』

『【Soaring Sky】 disappeared, the Sacred Sect declined—if not for the Sacred Sect’s Founding Ancestor, and without the sudden rise of True Lord Feixue, they really would have been wiped out by the Dao Court!』

And yet, this section of the【Pseudo-History】really had nothing—no Dao Lord, and True Lord Feixue had also gone to the current world. Naturally, the result was the Sacred Sect in the【Pseudo-History】getting completely screwed. Looking at it this way, it was no wonder the Sacred Sect’s Founding Ancestor wanted to knock some sense into the World-Honored One. After all, this course of history was just too irritating.

『Hm... wait a minute.』

The next second, Lu Yang suddenly froze:『That’s not right. If the【Soaring Sky】in the【Pseudo-History】didnʼt attain the【Great Forest Wood】, then why did he disappear?』

Thinking of this, he abruptly looked up and asked in a deep voice:

“You all said just now that someone once emerged from this place who became a True Lord. Does anyone know who it was? What was their background? Male or female? What did they look like?”

Hearing this, Chen Dao was momentarily stunned, then shook his head:

“I don’t know. That esteemed figure was shrouded entirely in smoke, and no one knew their origins—only that their strength was unprecedentedly powerful!”

Shrouded in smoke!

In an instant, Lu Yang’s pupils contracted sharply:『It was【Soaring Sky】. The【Soaring Sky】of the current world! Did he come to this segment of the【Pseudo-History】before entering the Underworld as well?』

“What did he do?” Lu Yang pressed on.

At this, awe immediately appeared on Chen Dao’s face: “What did he do? That lord... in one breath, he killed two True Lords of the Demonic Sect!”

“I once worked at the Grand Historian’s Pavilion of the Celestial Court, sorting jade slips, and read related intelligence. When that lord appeared, he headed straight for the Jiangbei Demonic Sect and, in front of all the world’s True Lords, directly beheaded the then-strongest of the Demonic Sect—【Lingxiao】. Then he disappeared from everyone’s sight.”

“The second time he showed up, he killed True Lord Hongtian.”

“Since then, he vanished completely without a trace... In fact, many people believe that the World-Honored One who attained Dao is actually him.”

“Wait a minute!”

Lu Yang suddenly interrupted Chen Dao’s narrative, his eyes shining as he grasped the key point: “【Soaring Sky】... appeared before the World-Honored One attained the Dao?”

How could that be!

Until now, Lu Yang had always believed that this【Pseudo-History】was created by the World-Honored One after achieving Nascent Soul, so its starting point should also be【The World-Honored One Achieving Nascent Soul】. Yet now, Chen Dao’s account made him realize with a jolt: the World-Honored One might not be the creator of the【Pseudo-History】!

The creator was someone else!

In the next second, a perfectly reasonable name floated into Lu Yang’s mind:

The Sacred Sect’s Founding Ancestor!

That man really was the Ancestor!

『Indeed, if the【Pseudo-History】was solely crafted by the World-Honored One, then how could there be a pathway from within the Sacred Sect leading to this place?』

『However, after the World-Honored One attained the Dao, the ownership of this【Pseudo-History】was probably seized by him, since this place was likely his lifeline.』

Just as that thought settled, another question popped up:

When exactly was the World-Honored One from?

『Theoretically speaking, the history of the World-Honored One could be traced back tens of thousands of years—this, the Old Dragon Lord could attest to. After all, he had seen the World-Honored One back then.』

However, this current section of【Pseudo-History】was obviously unrelated to anything from tens of thousands of years ago; it covered only the last five thousand years. In other words, if the World-Honored One attained Dao via this history, then he should be a contemporary of【Soaring Sky】—but that was clearly impossible...

The more he thought, the more Lu Yangʼs head throbbed.

“These powerhouses... not a single one plays fair!”

Lu Yang rubbed his brow and decisively gave up thinking further. If he couldn’t figure it out, then he wouldn’t bother. After all, matters concerning Nascent Soul Dao Lords were none of his Foundation Establishment business.

Securing the Golden Core was still more important!

At that thought, Lu Yang immediately focused his attention on another name Chen Dao had just mentioned:『True Lord Hongtian—that’s a name easy to recognize.』

No doubt about it, that’s Hong Yun from the alternate timeline!

For a moment, Lu Yang’s expression turned strange:

『What grudge did【Soaring Sky】have with Hong Yun? Was one kill in the current world not enough—he actually came to this segment of【Pseudo-History】to kill him again.』

That said, Lu Yang already had a grasp of【Soaring Sky】’s thinking.

『Probably... just using him for practice.』

At the time, it was clear that【Soaring Sky】had not yet reached the late stage of Golden Core. He must have been planning to strike at Hong Yun, but couldn’t be sure what hidden cards Hong Yun had.

So he first came to find the counterpart of Hong Yun within the【Pseudo-History】—that True Lord Hongtian—to train against. Although it was only a【Pseudo-History】, the connection between counterparts was still quite significant. From that True Lord Hongtian,【Soaring Sky】gleaned enough intelligence to easily kill Hong Yun later.

Thinking of this, Lu Yang couldn’t help but sigh:

『Hong Yun... really didn’t die unjustly.』

Don’t be fooled by how easily【Soaring Sky】took him out—behind the scenes, he had done thorough research and made ample preparations. That alone was already showing Hong Yun a great deal of “respect”.

This made Lu Yang all the more intrigued by that True Lord Hongtian.

『Compared to Hong Yun, this Hongtian was actually quite lucky—because【Soaring Sky】was only using him for practice and didn’t take further action.』

Whereas in the current world, Hong Yun had been utterly wrecked by the【Obstacle of Perception】.

By comparison, according to the intelligence from Yu Zhou, the True Lord Hongtian in the【Pseudo-History】had even managed a comeback and once again attested to the【Heavenly Fire】.

Although he ultimately failed again, even if a True Lord reincarnated and failed to obtain gold, it wouldn’t result in Dao backlash. He would simply reincarnate once more. Without interference from【Soaring Sky】, that True Lord Hongtian had either already reclaimed his place, or was still in peak Foundation Establishment, painstakingly planning another attempt to attest to【Heavenly Fire】.

At this point, Lu Yang suddenly asked:

“Where is that True Lord Hongtian now?”

As his words fell, Chen Dao was first stunned, then quickly replied: “I was just about to say—True Lord Hongtian is now the third True Lord of the Yama Dao.”

“But that was in the past. After he was first slain by that mysterious man, he defied fate and returned as an External Dao True Lord, and directly joined the Yama Dao. However, after failing to attest to【Heavenly Fire】, that lord seemed dissatisfied and has yet to reclaim his former status.”

Pausing to think for a moment, Chen Dao continued:

“As for where he is now... it should be overseas. It’s said that the lord has recently been recruiting dragons, probably planning another attempt at【Heavenly Fire】.”

“Overseas?”

Lu Yang’s eyes gleamed. Having obtained the intel he wanted, he vanished from the spot, leaving the two behind to continue chatting unaware.

『As expected, the Sacred Sect’s Founding Ancestor sent me into this segment of【Pseudo-History】at just the perfect moment—not by chance, but by exquisite design.』

『Hongtian is going to try for【Heavenly Fire】again?』

『Perfect!』

Lu Yang immediately made up his mind to meet this True Lord Hongtian and help him attain gold by any means necessary—to probe for potential threats.

As for how to find someone overseas, Lu Yang already had a plan.

The best way to locate someone was, of course, to find a local guide—and in the overseas region, those worthy of being called “locals” weren’t many.

『Tianqiu counts... but he has the Old Dragon Lord behind him. True Lords in the【Pseudo-History】don’t hide, and although I just confirmed that pseudo-Golden status can still be used here, unless absolutely necessary, I shouldnʼt provoke such a strong enemy for no reason.』

So it was best to find a local with no backing.

Then... who fit that condition?

After a moment of thought, Lu Yang took out the Myriad Spirits Banner and gave it a gentle shake, summoning Suo Huan, who was in seclusion within the banner. Then he injected a wisp of divine sense.

“...So that’s how it is.”

Suo Huan absorbed the divine sense and immediately understood everything, a smile appearing on his face: “At this moment, I should be overseas networking with various forces.”

“My lord, come with me.”

“I shall lead the way for you!”
