Struggling to Survive with Regression Power in the Primordial Saint Sect

Chapter 532: Supermodel!

Sun and moon shone together, stars glittered in unison, all orbiting around the silhouette of Lu Yang.

At this moment, all creation fell silent. Lu Yang stood with hands folded, wordless, yet as if he stood upon heaven and earth, the only existence in this world.

In the present world, no one cultivated 【Heavenly Fire】.

Yet at this very moment, 【Overturning Lamp Flame】, 【Fire Below the Mountain】, 【Fire Atop the Mountain】, 【Furnace Fire】, 【Thunderclap Fire】… all Foundation Establishment True Persons and Qi Refining cultivators who had cultivated any of the other fire-aligned Fruit Positions could not help but kneel down, prostrating toward that solitary figure high above the firmament in reverence!

【Heavenly Fire】 was the supreme among fire alignments.

It carried imperial aura, the imagery of dominion over the world. Naturally tyrannical, it regarded all other fire-aligned Fruit Positions as subordinates, and directly conscripted them.

All fire cultivators under heaven—were its bearers of tribute!

This sudden transformation caused the once-confident 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 to freeze in place, his 【Sun-Bearing Scroll】 continuously shifting through profound changes.

And yet—none came forth.

His 【Myriad Transformations】 was, after all, an external path Fruit Position—how could it possibly manifest something to counteract 【Heavenly Fire】? No matter how it changed, it was like a mayfly shaking a tree!

“Huff!”

In the next second, Lu Yang fully unfurled his qi mechanism. Though it too was a Pseudo-Holding, the feeling brought by 【Heavenly Fire】 was entirely different from 【Overturning Lamp Flame】.

What was a Supreme Fruit Position?

It was not merely a matter of strength—but a difference in essence. The status of 【Heavenly Fire】 stood a whole level above other fire Fruit Positions!

‘And this is only a Pseudo-Holding, merely tethered to 【Heavenly Fire】 without fully mastering it. To truly grasp its profundity, I must refine a Cave Heaven and take residence within. Yet even without wielding its mysteries, its imagery alone seems more than enough.’

At this thought, Lu Yang finally lifted his head and looked toward the 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】.

“Hiss—!”

Almost simultaneously, the 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 inhaled sharply, his form suddenly dimming, entirely devoid of any intent to continue the duel. He turned, ready to flee!

“Return.”

Lu Yang did not stop him directly—he simply said those words calmly. But as soon as the sound fell, a line of script appeared suddenly in the heavens:

【Those who flee before battle shall suffer severe punishment】

“Rumble!”

In the next instant, the dim figure of the 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 solidified once more, his expression twisted in terror. All around him, brilliant flames suddenly flared to life without warning, engulfing and consuming him. All he saw was blinding light—he could not move an inch!

‘What is this thing!?’

The 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 panicked, quickly chanting incantations. Like a cicada shedding its shell, he cast off his golden body and narrowly escaped the sea of flames in a flash of divine light.

Turning back, he saw that golden body already reduced to ash within the blaze.

‘This is…’

Gnashing his teeth, he looked up to that line still suspended in the heavens, and at last understood what he had just experienced.

‘That rule… manifested through the imagery of the Fruit Position… commanding all beneath the heavens. Once violated—even a True Lord would immediately suffer the punishment of heavenly fire…’

The 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 was utterly dumbfounded.

‘Setting rules for the world—those who comply may live, those who defy are executed… what a tyrannical imagery! And the worst part is—it even works on True Lords!?’

Such an image was already on par with the mysteries of ordinary Fruit Positions!

Was this even fair?

Fear grew within him, and he no longer dared to flee. Just then, another flare of flame erupted in the sky, revealing yet another script:

【Those who resist stubbornly shall suffer severe punishment】

——What?

Just as the 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 pondered this new rule, Lu Yang moved. He raised his right hand, five fingers curled as if lightly pulling something.

“Rumble!”

In the next instant, the 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 trembled violently as the 【Sun-Bearing Scroll】 in his hand abruptly lost all control, completely severing its connection to him. It excitedly flew toward Lu Yang without hesitation—as if defecting to the enemy!

Mine! All mine!

‘Stop!’

Gritting his teeth, the 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 tried to resist. The 【Sun-Bearing Scroll】 was his life-bound treasure, forged through immense effort—how could he let it go?

But then he realized—

‘Wait, no!’

Too late. The moment he forcibly suppressed the 【Sun-Bearing Scroll】 to prevent Lu Yang’s seizure, heavenly fire once more burst into existence and ignited him.

‘Again!?’

Punishment by heavenly fire!

A bitter taste filled his heart as he finally grasped the meaning of 【Those who resist stubbornly shall suffer severe punishment】—one could not defend against attacks, only accept them. His attempt to suppress his own treasure clearly violated that rule, thus heavenly fire descended again, giving him no chance to react!

“Ahhh!”

Flames consumed him, brilliant light scorching his soul. This was no ordinary pain—even the firm will of a True Lord like the 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 could not stop him from screaming.

Though it was just venting.

As a Bodhisattva of the Pure Land, a manifestation of the World-Honored One, he naturally inherited the noble tradition—if it hurt, he wouldnʼt hold back, and he didnʼt mind letting out a few cries.

So he remained very calm.

‘Setting rules… seizure… seizing my treasure… the rule forced me to accept being robbed… are all these so-called Supreme Fruit Positions this shameless?’

‘Even if it’s truly that shameless, it can’t be without weakness. There must be a reason—how could a single rule possibly harm a True Lord?’

His mind raced, rapidly deducing the truth.

‘These rules, formed from the imagery of the Fruit Position, must also be effective on him! Only this way could their binding force reach the level of injuring a True Lord!’

The moment this thought surfaced—he struck!

Counterattack!

In the next second, the 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 revealed his own Fruit Position—a gray, churning mist filled with endless transformations.

“Boom!”

Self-sacrificial collision!

Even as an external path Fruit Position, its impact was still tremendous. More importantly, he had calculated Lu Yang’s previous two rules—no fleeing, no defense. If both were active on Lu Yang, he would have no choice but to take the hit!

At that very moment, a third flame ignited in the heavens:

【Those who battle bravely shall suffer severe punishment】

“Boom!”

Heavenly fire descended once more. But even so, the 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 did not stop—instead, he accelerated within the blaze.

‘I’ll endure the fire if I must…’

‘But I will wound you at least!’

With hope in his heart, the 【Myriad Transformations】 Fruit Position charged straight toward Lu Yang.

Then—Lu Yang smiled.

In the next moment, Lu Yang’s figure flickered.

And the 【Dragon-Serpent Coiling Shadow Bodhisattva】 watched in disbelief as the Fruit Position he had entrusted with everything… missed entirely. A stunned look took over his eyes.

‘How can this be…?’

Instinctively, he looked to the sky—to the three rules hanging above. To his shock, only 【Those who battle bravely shall suffer severe punishment】 remained. The other two had vanished entirely.

In that instant, he felt his chest clog, countless emotions lodged in his throat—but he could not speak.

In the end, it condensed into one bitter curse:

‘You beast!’

His deductions had not been wrong. The rules did bind Lu Yang—only Lu Yang could also freely cancel them at will.

How the hell do you fight that!?

【Heavenly Fire】?

Supermodel!
