Struggling to Survive with Regression Power in the Primordial Saint Sect

Chapter 525: Bald Donkey, Face the Sword!

Out in the wilderness, every word from Guangming the Buddha Child rang with steely clarity, brimming with righteous energy.

Chongguang couldnʼt help but laugh upon hearing this. “What now? You’re saying the people from the Ten Cities of Jiangdong weren’t killed by you?”

Upon hearing that, Guangming the Buddha Child furrowed his brows tightly. “Benefactor, do not speak nonsense. How could this humble monk kill anyone? They all came willingly to help this humble monk with his【Buddha Cultivation】.”

“Buddha Cultivation that ends with them being cultivated to death?” Chongguang retorted.

Guangming the Buddha Child immediately shook his head, revealing an expression of sorrow. “It was due to their insufficient karmic affinity. After all, attaining true Buddhahood is no easy task. Still, it can be considered a form of blessing.”

“You call that a blessing?”

“Isn’t it?”

Guangming tilted his head, face solemn. “The reason they came to【cultivate Buddhism】was precisely because the mortal world held too much suffering. They sought refuge in Buddha, did they not?”

“This humble monk did not force them.”

“On the contrary, this humble monk even provided compensation. Everything was by mutual consent. It was their own inability to let go of the Three Poisons—greed, anger, and delusion—that prevented them from achieving true Buddhahood.”

“But it matters not. Even though they failed to become Buddhas, they already have Buddha in their hearts. In their next lives, they will naturally be reborn into purity. When they descend upon the Pure Land, they will realize their true selves, and from then on be free of all worldly suffering, dwelling eternally in bliss and tranquility. Tell me, Benefactor—

is this not a blessing?”

After finishing, Guangming the Buddha Child looked earnestly at Lu Yang and Chongguang.

As if awaiting their rebuttal.

Yet upon witnessing this scene, Lu Yang and Chongguang simply exchanged a glance—

the next moment, identical smiles appeared on their faces, while divine powers had already coalesced in their palms.

“Boom!”

In the blink of an eye, a palace of radiant splendor surged up like blazing fire, mingled with a phantom image of a bronze furnace, layer upon layer swallowing Guangming the Buddha Child whole.

【Guiyuan Palace】.

【Rigid Flame Furnace】!

Two divine techniques crashed down from the sky. Guangming the Buddha Child could only shake his head at the sight. “I thought you two benefactors might offer lofty insights, but in the end, you still resort to lowly violence.”

Lu Yang merely sneered at his words. “I’ve no interest in reasoning with you. Youʼre not worthy to hear it.”

With that, he summoned his innate divine ability—

【Chongli Imperial Edict Mountains and Seas Map】

—which pressed down from the heavens, radiant and resplendent, as if a second sun had risen in the sky.

Yet soon after, Lu Yang’s pupils shrank—

for he saw that neither his nor Chongguang’s divine techniques stirred even a ripple upon Guangming the Buddha Child. Their grand spiritual force disappeared like stones sinking into the sea, wholly devoured by the broken Buddha statue behind him.

“Benefactor, shall we make a wager?”

Guangming’s voice drifted out from within the【Chongli Imperial Edict Mountains and Seas Map】, calm and unhurried. “If Benefactor wins, I shall lead all Pure Land followers to submit to the Dao Court.”

“The stake—

shall be this great Buddha behind this humble monk.”

“This humble monk came to Jiangdong only to【cultivate Buddha】. No matter what means you use—

if you can help this humble monk complete this Buddha statue, then you win.”

“If Benefactor loses, there is no need for much.”

“Simply continue to help this humble monk【cultivate Buddha】until the great Buddha is complete. Then Benefactor may come and go freely, and I shall still lead all Pure Land followers to submit.”

“What say you?”

In response—

was a brilliant beam of golden light.

『Clear Sovereign Rule』！

This profound technique had one major flaw—

it required brushing down with mystical light, making it slow. Even if the opponent couldn’t withstand it, they could still dodge or flee.

Thus, before using it, Lu Yang usually laid out elaborate traps—

just like he had against Empress Xiao—

to ensure its success.

But this time, he found that Guangming the Buddha Child, relying on the broken Buddha behind him, made no attempt to evade at all.

A devious thought took root in Lu Yang’s mind.

Outwardly, he activated the divine technique. Secretly, he made precise seals.

Suddenly, the radiance surged forth—

drowning Guangming the Buddha Child entirely.

■ Stripping Divine Technique！■

In that instant, Guangming the Buddha Child’s body trembled, and Buddhist light burst forth—

within it sat five figures, forcibly drawn out by Lu Yang’s divine technique.

Yet Guangming showed no fear—

instead, he burst into hearty laughter:

“Benefactor truly shares affinity with my Buddha!”

“Amitabha!”

“Amitabha!”

Meanwhile, Lu Yang’s eyelid twitched.

The five figures displayed different expressions—some dumbfounded, some joyful, some wrathful, some compassionate, one even utterly sorrowful, and another fully resolute.

—They were all Dharma Aspects!

『Manifested World Aspect』, 『Observer of the World Aspect』, 『Listener of the World Aspect』, 『Purifier of the World Aspect』, 『Dweller of the World Aspect』…

Motherf—

Even the World-Honored One has no shame left!

In the previous life, Guangming had only one【Manifested World Aspect】, and he was already virtually unbeatable at the Foundation Establishment stage. Apart from Real Person of Demon-Cleansing, no one could oppose him.

Yet this time—

the World-Honored One sent five Dharma Aspects!

Not only that, but there appeared to be some kind of formation-combination technique among them!

“Amitabha.”

Next second, the five Dharma Aspects spoke in unison, letting the divine light of【Clear Sovereign Rule】fall upon them—

and then directly flew toward Lu Yang!

In an instant, chanting resounded in Lu Yang’s ears.

Simultaneously—

【Immortal Nation Dao Law】descended from the void, covering his body and silencing the “Ugh!” that nearly escaped his lips.

Lu Yang almost immediately wanted to sever【Clear Sovereign Rule】—

yet the five Dharma Aspects forcibly maintained the connection, staring hungrily at him.

Were it not for the【Immortal Nation Dao Law】’s protection, they likely would’ve already converted him on the spot.

‘Trying to cling to me?’

Lu Yang frowned, hand in his sleeve already grasping the Fortune Gold Nature.

At this point, perhaps only a feigned Gold Position could break the impasse?

But something felt wrong.

‘Feigning the Gold Position is my trump card, but not the first time I’ve used it. I already did once when I sent off Emperor Jiayou.’

If you act, someone will know.

No matter how well-hidden the deed, it leaves a trace.

Would the World-Honored One not be aware of his ability to feign the Gold Position?

‘A trap?’

Lu Yang hesitated.

More importantly, he still didn’t understand the true secret behind that broken Buddha statue—

what exactly did this so-called【Buddha Cultivation】conceal?

‘Still too weak…’

Lu Yang lamented—

even though the World-Honored One had not acted personally, this setup alone, using Guangming as a proxy, was enough to place him in a dire dilemma.

Thinking of this, Lu Yang cursed inwardly—

Damn it, where the hell is the Dao Court Dao Lord?

Didn’t you say I’d be the one doing the dirty work? Said you wouldn’t be a coward?

Well, I’m doing it now. Where the hell are you? Hurry up and drop from the sky and slap Guangming the Bald Donkey to death for me!

At that moment—

Guangming the Buddha Child calmly said:

“Benefactor, this humble monk knows your aim is to attain the Gold Position, and that Jiangxi is the last piece. In that case, why all this fighting and killing?”

“Even if you kill this humble monk, could you kill the countless Buddhist cultivators in Jiangxi?”

“Why not sit down and wager, as I previously suggested? Such would be a meritorious act.”

“Clang Clang!”

A sword cry rang out—

cutting off Guangming’s words.

He lifted his brows to look—only to see a three-foot longsword reflected in his pupils.

“Pfft!”

A spray of blood bloomed in mid-air.

The blade slashed upward, leaving a deep gash across Guangming’s face, skin split open and flesh torn.

Had he not instinctively retreated a step—

avoiding the tip—

and if not for the broken Buddha’s protection—

that sword would’ve split his entire head in two.

“It’s you…!?”

Guangming the Buddha Child, hand clutching his bleeding eye and glowing wound, turned in shock and fury toward the blade’s wielder.

“You’re in Jiangnan. I never harmed Jiangnan. Why—”

Before he could finish, the blade gleamed again—

accompanied by a voice, cold as frost:

“After slaughtering the innocent, how dare you speak of harm not done?”

“You and I are already mortal enemies!”

“Bald Donkey—

Face the Sword!”
