Struggling to Survive with Regression Power in the Primordial Saint Sect

Chapter 549: What? The Sacred Sect Is Gone!?

Fly-Snow Sleeping Palace.

Lu Yang led Yu Zhou as they walked through the spacious great hall. Before long, a large bed veiled with a thin gauze curtain appeared in his line of sight.

However, Lu Yang’s gaze immediately focused on a full-length mirror beside the bed. From it emanated a karmic fluctuation akin to that of the Zouyu clan—something that couldn’t be calculated outside the sleeping quarters but became glaringly obvious once inside.

“It’s this.”

After a brief calculation, Lu Yang confirmed this was the entrance to the disordered history. At the same time, Yu Zhou revealed a somewhat nervous expression.

After all, the Zouyu clan had been gone for five thousand years.

Yu Zhou was already the eldest among the current descendants of the Zouyu. Yet even so, he had only read records of the disordered history in the clan annals.

Now, after five thousand years, those records were likely obsolete.

Thus, Lu Yang hadn’t even bothered asking about the details of that disordered history. He planned to send someone else to investigate after they arrived.

“Let’s go.”

As the words fell, Lu Yang clenched his large hand. Under the influence of 【Heaven】, the space around Yu Zhou collapsed, Sumeru becoming mustard seed, and he was stored away.

The next second, Lu Yang stepped toward the mirror.

At the same time, in the 【False History】, Jiangdong, at the ruins of Zouyu.

Once, this place had been an Immortal Dao holy land, with ten thousand cultivators paying homage and several True Lords overseeing it. It had briefly stood as the mightiest among the Four Great Powers.

But now, all had come to an end. It was said that the Zouyu royal family vanished here. To prevent any revival of the old dynasty, the newly ascended Tianwu royal clan turned the place upside down. Yet they found nothing and ended up sealing it off, turning it into a forbidden zone.

Now, all one saw were crumbling walls and broken ruins.

Besides that were countless tiny insects hidden in the sand and concealed within the spiritual energy, seemingly in a state of silent dormancy.

【Qi-Devouring Insects】.

It was said these extraterrestrial aberrations had once wreaked havoc inland until True Lords subdued them. Later, they were released into this region—

—just to prevent anyone from approaching.

On the forbidden zone’s edge stood a pitch-black watchtower. Inside, two figures sat cross-legged, sweeping their divine senses across the perimeter.

“Chen Dao, what did you do to get stationed here?”

“After all, this place is a dumping ground for exiles. Everyone knows the Zouyu descendants are all long dead—it’s impossible they’ll ever return.”

“Don’t be so sure. The soul plaques of the last batch of Zouyu are said to remain unbroken. If not for that, why do you think the higher-ups made such a fuss? Tossing Qi-Devouring Insects here, assigning us to monitor this place day and night? Even a True Lord’s divine sense might be watching!”

“And also—”

At that moment, the cultivator named Chen Dao suddenly paused, making the brawny cultivator beside him show a curious look.

“And also what?”

Chen Dao hesitated for a moment, then spoke in a low voice: “It’s said someone once walked out of this place… a mysterious True Lord.”

“True Lord!?”

The brawny cultivator was shocked. After all, since the World-Honored One attained Dao, Golden Core True Lords were the peak cultivators of the world.

Suddenly, a thought stirred in the brawny cultivator’s heart.

He couldn’t help but sigh. “Speaking of which, when the World-Honored One attained Dao, all Nine Heavens resounded. Even now, it remains a grand era like no other.”

“Indeed.”

Chen Dao nodded in agreement. “To this day, no one knows the origin of the World-Honored One. All we know is that after attaining Dao, he ascended.”

“Since then, no Dao Lords have ever appeared again.”

“What a pity. If the World-Honored One had stayed, founded a sect, he could’ve established a supreme Dao lineage, outshining even our Immortal Court and Jiangnan Sword Sect.”

“Liu Xiao, what do you think lies beyond the sky?”

“What?”

The Sacred Sect is gone!?（Supplementary Update）

Fly-Snow Sleeping Palace.

Lu Yang led Yu Zhou through the wide hall. Soon, a large bed with sheer curtains came into view.

Yet Lu Yang’s attention instantly locked onto the full-length mirror beside the bed, where karmic fluctuations similar to the Zouyu clanʼs emanated. These fluctuations had been imperceptible before entering the chamber but now stood out glaringly.

“It’s this.”

A quick calculation told Lu Yang it was the entrance to the disordered history. Yu Zhou also looked visibly nervous.

After all, the Zouyu clan had vanished five thousand years ago.

Yu Zhou was now the oldest among their descendants, yet he had only ever read of disordered history in clan records.

Those records must surely be outdated after so long.

Thus, Lu Yang hadn’t asked for details but planned to send someone else to investigate once they arrived.

“Let’s go.”

With that, Lu Yang clenched his hand. Under the power of 【Heaven】, the space around Yu Zhou collapsed, Sumeru turned to mustard seed, and he was taken in.

Lu Yang stepped toward the mirror.

Meanwhile, in the 【False History】—Jiangdong, Zouyu Ruins.

This had once been a sacred Immortal Dao land, visited by ten thousand cultivators, guarded by multiple True Lords—once the strongest of the Four Powers.

Now, all had crumbled. It was said the Zouyu royal family vanished here. To prevent any resurgence, the Tianwu royal clan razed the place. Finding nothing, they sealed it off as a forbidden zone.

Now only ruins remained.

Among the sand and spiritual energy, countless tiny bugs lay dormant—

【Qi-Devouring Insects】.

These extraterrestrial species had once troubled the interior until True Lords subdued them. Later, they were dumped here to prevent entry.

At the zoneʼs edge stood a dark watchtower. Two figures sat cross-legged, divine sense sweeping outward.

“Chen Dao, what did you do to end up here?”

“This is a place of exile. Everyone knows the Zouyu descendants are all long gone.”

“Not necessarily. The last soul plaques are said to still be intact. Otherwise, why all this fuss—dumping Qi-Devouring Insects, placing us on constant watch? Even True Lords may be watching.”

“And—”

Chen Dao suddenly stopped. His companion raised an eyebrow.

“And what?”

Chen Dao hesitated. “It’s said… someone came out of here once. A mysterious True Lord.”

“True Lord!?”

The other gasped. Since the World-Honored One attained Dao, Golden Core True Lords had been the peak.

He grew thoughtful.

“Back when the World-Honored One attained Dao, even the heavens rang. A glorious time.”

“Indeed.”

“Still don’t know where he came from. Just that he ascended.”

“No Dao Lords since.”

“Shame. Had he founded a sect, it would have surpassed even the Immortal Court and Sword Sect.”

“Liu Xiao, what lies beyond the sky?”

“Who knows? Even True Lords can’t reach beyond. They can only occasionally pull down a star or two. Only a Dao Lord could know that.”

In the eerie forbidden zone, the two men’s voices rang sharp. A breeze passed between them.

Then, a white-robed youth standing silently nearby suddenly asked, “So, if there are no Dao Lords, who are the current True Lords?”

His voice was calm, his tone gentle.

He stood among them like one of their own—blending in naturally with the conversation.

“You idiot.”

Chen Dao shot him a glance. “Today’s True Lords? Naturally, the Immortal Court stands supreme. The Jiangnan Sword Sect follows.”

“As for third… hmm, probably Yama Dao.”

Lu Yang listened with interest—Immortal Court, Sword Sect—clearly corresponding to the Dao Court and Sword Pavilion in the real world, with only slight differences.

Then he froze.

“.Yama Dao?”

He immediately recalled the equivalent power in the real world—but the conclusion was too absurd. He had to double-check:

‘How many True Lords does Yama Dao have?’

“Three!”

Chen Dao answered without hesitation. “It’s well-known that after the World-Honored One attained Dao and the Zouyu fell, the world plunged into chaos, with dragon and snake vying for gold.

“The standout was none other than Yama Dao’s first True Lord—formerly the number one rogue cultivator, now the 【True Lord of Overflowing Source】 Mu Changsheng. Without him, Yama’s Patriarch might’ve lost to the highly senior Chengde True Person from the Sword Sect.”

Lu Yang clicked his tongue in amazement.

‘Mu Changsheng, Yama Patriarch, Chengde True Person… completely divergent history. But what was the cause?’

He calculated and immediately understood.

‘It was 【Soaring Sky】!’

‘As I thought… back then, 【Soaring Sky】 attained 【Great Forest Wood】 only because the Sacred Sect’s Founding Ancestor—a Dao Lord-level existence—intervened.’

But in this 【False History】, there were no Dao Lords!

Thus, 【Soaring Sky】 couldn’t attain Great Forest Wood, nor could he interfere with the fruit positions corresponding to Morning Star Earth. Mu Changsheng benefited instead.

‘Without 【Soaring Sky】, Mu Changsheng could’ve attained 【Endless Flowing Water】 without scheming for 【World Without Worry】... of course, in this 【False History】, he’s Mu Changsheng. His success directly affected the version of Ancestor Tingyou here.’

Why had Ancestor Tingyou failed to compete with 【True Lord of Heaven-Bearing Virtue】 back then?

Because the latter had the Sword Pavilion’s backing, a seniority advantage, and support from True Lords—thus securing the fruit position of 【Wall Earth】 ahead of Tingyou.

But the 【False History】 was different.

Due to Mu Changsheng’s butterfly effect, the Tingyou counterpart in the 【False History】—the Yama Patriarch—also gained support from True Lords.

Naturally, he emerged victorious.

‘Wait a second…’

Lu Yang suddenly paused, then asked Chen Dao and Liu Xiao: “Immortal Court in Jiangdong, Sword Sect in Jiangnan—then who rules Jiangbei?”

Why was Yama Dao third?

The Pure Land could be dismissed—after all, in this 【False History】, the World-Honored One ascended right after attaining Nascent Soul and didn’t pass on the Pure Land Dao Lineage.

But what about the Sacred Sect!?

The two were momentarily stunned before replying: “Jiangbei… you mean the Demon Sect? It was destroyed by the Immortal Court long ago.”

“...”

Lu Yang blinked blankly, hardly believing what he just heard.

What? My Sacred Sect is gone!?
