Reborn As a Snake, I Can Absorb Fear

Chapter 148 Godzilla AppearsJack did not see the legendary giant beast; there was only a mountain in front of Kong, and it was empty.

Could this not be the place?

Why would Kong stop?

Jack was puzzled, and he picked up the microphone to explain.

But just at this moment, he caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye that the mountain in front of Kong moved slightly.

Could it be...

An outrageous thought suddenly rose in Jack’s mind.

It seemed to be confirming Jack’s conjecture.

The mountain began to shake.

Stones began to crack and split, and pieces of rubble rolled down from the top of the mountain.

A muffled groan emanated from within the mountain, and the deep sound reverberated for ten miles around.

Jack could not hide his excitement; he was dumbfounded for a moment, even forgetting to provide commentary.

Boom!

The mountain suddenly exploded, and the rocks transformed from rolling to flying in all directions.

A figure as massive as a mountain emerged from the crumbling rocks.

The size of that figure was unimaginable; even the hundred-meter-tall Kong looked petite and delicate before him.

Jack opened his mouth wide in shock, as did the viewers behind the screens in the livestream.

Everyone stared in silence at the figure slowly becoming clear amidst the dust and smoke.

It was covered in scales, each one the size of a house, layered from its spine to the tip of its tail, with edges sharp as blades, shimmering with a cold, metallic luster in the sunlight.

On its back, a row of dorsal fins protruded diagonally, like giant blades, extending from the back of its neck all the way to its tail.

Its head emerged from the clouds atop the mountain. It was a shape between a dragon and a crocodile, with a thick, broad jaw and masticatory muscles bulging like rocks. Its golden eyes had slitted pupils that were contracting.

Neck, shoulders, forelimbs—its body freed itself from the rubble section by section.

Its thick forearms pressed onto the mountainside, five fingers digging into the rock layer, each finger as thick as an ancient tree, with pitch-black, hard hook-claws at the tips.

When it propped up its body, the scales on its chest and abdomen were relatively fine, expanding and contracting slowly with its breathing, revealing dark red markings underneath that looked like magma flowing beneath its skin.

Its tail finally pulled out from the foot of the mountain, and its three-hundred-meter-long body was fully revealed.

It stood amidst the rubble, like a deity having just broken out of its shell from within the mountain.

Roar!

An ancient, melodious sound was emitted from its mouth, audible within a hundred miles.

Kong pounded his chest violently with both hands and let out a long roar toward the sky.

This was his state of excitement upon seeing an old friend.

The giant beast before him, as massive as a mountain, was indeed the good friend with whom he had turned from enemies into allies.

Godzilla!

Jack was trembling all over with excitement.

Godzilla, he had actually seen a living Godzilla!

At this moment, he picked up the microphone, speaking incoherently.

”Everyone, Godzilla, do you see it? It is the real Godzilla, Godzilla, oh, God, how should I express my feelings.”

All the viewers around the world on the other side of the livestream collectively erupted the moment they saw the full appearance of Godzilla.

If the sensation caused by Kong’s appearance was a level-four tsunami, then the sensation caused by Godzilla was a level-five tsunami.

Tokyo, Sakura Country.

The moment Major General Kobayashi Masasho saw Godzilla appear in the livestream, his eyes widened, and he stood up abruptly.

Tioda Natsuko, who was lying on him, was immediately knocked to the floor, letting out a delicate groan.

”Ah!”

”Yosh, yosh, Sugoi.”

”Kobayashi-kun, you hurt me.” Tioda Natsuko pouted, dissatisfied.

”Natsuko, did you see it? Godzilla, how does the USA have Godzilla?”

Major General Kobayashi Masasho paid no attention to Tioda Natsuko’s dissatisfaction; at this moment, his eyes were only on that figure on the screen.

If there was any country in this world whose love for Godzilla was deep in its bones, it was undoubtedly their Sakura Country.

Godzilla originated from their Sakura Country, and to the people of Sakura Country, it was like a national treasure.

Haicheng, Dragon Country.

When Godzilla appeared on the large plaza screen, everyone around was excited, especially the young people.

They were all loyal fans of Godzilla, and their level of adoration was in no way inferior to Sakura Country.

In fact, if one were to ask which country had the most Godzilla fans, it was undoubtedly Dragon Country, because Dragon Country had many people.

Even if every citizen of Sakura Country were a Godzilla fan, they still wouldn’t surpass Dragon Country.

Dragon Country was where the largest group of Godzilla fans resided.

The appearance of Godzilla caused the eyes of the world to focus here.

Everyone maintained goodwill toward Godzilla, firmly believing that Godzilla was a friend to humanity.

Just like in the movies.

At this moment, humanity seemed to have suddenly gained infinite confidence regarding the increasingly worsening giant beast incidents.

They had Godzilla as a partner; Godzilla would not let giant beasts destroy humanity.

Major global newspapers and news websites followed the current events closely, reporting extensively on the appearance of Godzilla.

Associated Press: ”Godzilla Makes a Shocking Entrance; Is It Humanity’s Salvation or Disaster?”

Reuters: ”Can Godzilla Stop the Big White Snake from Ravaging the USA?”

Agence France-Presse: ”Godzilla’s Appearance Is So Coincidental; Is It Chance or Premeditated?”

Global Times: ”Godzilla Appears in the USA; Suspected to Be Related to Yesterday’s Big White Snake City-Slaughtering Incident.”

...

Presidential Palace, USA.

President Trump and a group of people had already begun to collectively perform a hypnotic dance.

Godzilla gave them incomparable confidence; it was a kind of faith.

It was the deep-seated, subconscious influence of movies and television: justice must triumph over evil.

The gloom of all the people of the USA was swept away; they seemed to have already seen the scene of Godzilla tearing the Big White Snake apart with its hands.

”Brother, do you see it? The Big White Snake is about to face judgment; you can rest in peace in heaven!” James Marsden said happily to the portrait of Major General Marsden.

Yesterday, upon hearing the shocking news of his brother’s death, James Marsden was overcome with grief. After witnessing the terror of the Big White Snake, he had to extinguish any thoughts of avenging his brother.

But now, the appearance of Godzilla allowed him to see hope once again.

Godzilla would definitely eliminate that devil.

Justice will surely triumph over evil!

This was the common faith of humanity; no one would doubt it.

Kong and Godzilla were indeed good friends; the two giant beasts howled at each other for a full ten minutes.

Seemingly competing to see whose voice was louder.

Alice, sitting on Kong’s shoulder, felt dizzy and faint; she was almost shaken to death by the airwaves.

”Dear, stop, I’m about to meet God.”

Alice shouted at Kong with all her might.

Kong’s ear was very close to Alice, and he heard her easily.

Kong quite liked Alice as a human.

Therefore, he was very obedient.

”Godzilla, let’s stop; my Alice can’t take it anymore.” Kong spoke to Godzilla; this time, it was finally not a howl.

”Kong, are you talking about that little thing on your shoulder?”

”Yes, Godzilla, she is my friend.”

”A human friend?” Godzilla fell into contemplation, seemingly reminiscing.

”Godzilla, I came to find you this time because I want you to go with me to deal with a troublesome guy.”

”Oh! A troublesome guy? Has another bad beast that destroys peace appeared in this world?”
