Reborn As a Snake, I Can Absorb Fear

Chapter 129 Approaching the Mainland of the United StatesIt was not just President Trump; Obama and the Secretary of Defense also wore grave expressions.

”Mr. President, there is no way the Dragon Kingdom could have known about this nuclear strike on the Big White Snake in advance, yet the Big White Snake still escaped. I fear it has the ability to teleport.”

Obama analyzed the situation rationally, immediately deducing the most logical explanation.

”Keep attacking it with nuclear bombs. I refuse to believe it can escape every time,” President Trump ordered.

A chill rose from deep within his heart. This Big White Snake was too bizarre; he hadn’t expected it to actually escape.

”Mr. President, please calm down. Frequent use of nuclear bombs will deplete our nuclear arsenal,” the Secretary of Defense interjected to stop him.

”Good god, calm down! Do you not see the Big White Snake heading towards our country, towards our cities? If we don’t stop it now, how will you stop it when it reaches our cities?” President Trump gave the Secretary of Defense no face at all; these people were all useless, miserly wretches.

Obama, standing to the side, shook his head inwardly; he had no intention of dissuading him.

A new nuclear launch order was issued again, this time directly from the USA mainland.

Several covert nuclear bases began to operate quietly, standing by at all times.

President Trump was no fool; he wouldn’t just throw nuclear bombs around as if they were free.

He intended to launch them one by one, vowing not to stop until the Big White Snake was killed.

Otherwise, if the Big White Snake descended upon the USA mainland, it would be a massive catastrophe, and even if he, the president, were executed by firing squad, it would be hard to clear his name.

Damn that Takaichi Wanmiao; this stinking woman must have known the Big White Snake was not easy to kill.

She actually dared to set a trap for our USA. Once the Big White Snake is dealt with, I must make that woman kneel and dance naked.

”Mr. President, the first nuclear bomb has been launched,” someone came over to report.

”Keep a close watch. If you detect the Big White Snake escaping, launch the second one immediately,” President Trump urgently called for more people to monitor the Big White Snake.

Jiang Feng was moving forward rapidly, the seawater being cleaved by him into waves several zhang high.

The fish nearby were scared and fled in all directions.

[fear points + 5]

[fear points + 10]

...

Some very low fear points drifted in from the surroundings; he couldn’t even scrape together a thousand points in half an hour.

This was because only the fish that Jiang Feng accidentally collided with and killed would generate fear points before dying; the other fish that he didn’t hit wouldn’t generate any at all.

These fish had too little intelligence and had no idea what Jiang Feng was, or why they should be afraid of him.

It was just like how ants might fear other ants, but would not fear humans, because in the world of ants, such a thing as a human does not exist, and they cannot imagine what a human looks like.

Just then, Jiang Feng saw a familiar ball of light ahead. It was another nuclear bomb.

Jiang Feng reacted instantly, and the Star Escape Technique began to operate.

This time, there was plenty of time; when the nuclear bomb was still a thousand meters away from Jiang Feng, his figure had already vanished.

In the USA presidential office, a monitor screamed in terror, ”Mr. President, the Big White Snake suddenly vanished a second before the nuclear bomb drew near.”

”What?” President Trump and Obama were shocked.

Both men had terrible expressions; although they had expected it and knew the Big White Snake might have the ability to teleport, it was still hard to accept when it actually happened.

It was like the feeling of knowing your partner might be cheating, and then actually catching them in the act.

It was a feeling that made you completely give up, a feeling that all hope had been shattered. That was exactly the mood President Trump and Obama were in at that moment.

”Quick, find the tracks of the Big White Snake immediately,” President Trump said anxiously.

The monitors began searching for the Big White Snake around the nuclear explosion. Over an hour later, ”Mr. President, we found it. The Big White Snake is eight hundred kilometers away.”

Several monitors wiped the cold sweat from their foreheads; heaven knows how anxious they had been just moments ago.

They hadn’t found it for so long, and President Trump’s face had become increasingly ugly; his gaze towards them was like he wanted to eat them alive.

If they still couldn’t find it, they would surely be dragged out and executed by President Trump on trumped-up charges.

Fortunately, at the critical moment, Obama gave them a clue, telling them to search in the direction of the USA.

The search area was immediately reduced by more than half, and they finally found it.

”Keep launching nuclear bombs at it,” President Trump said without the slightest hesitation, issuing the launch order again.

Over a thousand kilometers away from the USA coast, Jiang Feng’s figure was rapidly approaching.

More than an hour had passed since the previous nuclear bomb, and Jiang Feng had only used the Star Escape Technique once at that time. Afterward, he continued to rush toward the USA rapidly.

He had already sensed that the USA seemed to intend to use nuclear bombs to intercept him and keep him from getting close.

”Heh, the more you don’t want me to get close, the more I intend to.”

In order to successfully reach the USA mainland, Jiang Feng decided to use the Star Escape Technique sparingly.

His current Mental Energy was enough to use the Star Escape Technique for over forty kilometers more than ten times. Having already used it twice, he could still use it eight more times, which was enough for him to reach the USA mainland.

Moreover, as time passed, his Mental Energy was also slowly recovering. Even if his Mental Energy was insufficient later, he could just move twenty kilometers, which would consume much less Mental Energy.

In fact, as long as he stayed five kilometers away from the nuclear explosion zone now, he probably wouldn’t suffer any damage at all.

However, Jiang Feng still wanted to be safe because, with his memories from his past life, he knew that nuclear bombs also varied in power.

If a hydrogen bomb happened to be headed his way and he only escaped a few kilometers, he might very well be killed by the hydrogen bomb.

Jiang Feng looked toward the horizon from time to time; as soon as he spotted a fireball, he would immediately use the Star Escape Technique.

Just as he was thinking about this, a fireball suddenly appeared in his line of sight. Jiang Feng did not hesitate at all and cast the Star Escape Technique; when the fireball was still two thousand meters away from Jiang Feng, he had already vanished.

This time, he escaped even faster.

Forty kilometers away, Jiang Feng glanced at the rear with contempt. A flash of light suddenly appeared there; the nuclear bomb had detonated.

The speed of light was not at all slower than his Star Escape Technique. However, Jiang Feng didn’t care; just because light could catch up to him didn’t mean the Star Escape Technique was slower than the speed of light.

It was just because the distance of his Star Escape was relatively short; if he were to Star Escape for thousands or tens of thousands of kilometers, the speed of light might not necessarily be able to catch up with him.

Jiang Feng suddenly thought that if one day his spirit became strong enough, perhaps he could use the Star Escape Technique to escape into the starry sky and catch up to Qin Shi Huang. To catch up to the light emitted from the Blue Planet thousands of years ago.

Would this be traveling back in time? Of course not.

Jiang Feng quickly dismissed the meaningless thought; catching up would only be witnessing a projection. At most, it could only be called time regression.

The USA had waited so long to launch the second nuclear bomb this time, which made Jiang Feng feel a bit puzzled.

However, this suited his intentions perfectly, and Jiang Feng continued to swim forward with all his might. The speed of swimming on the surface of the sea was far faster than swimming in the deep sea.

This was also the reason Jiang Feng chose to swim on the surface of the sea; the Giant Beast Legion had also fallen into humanity’s trap for this very reason previously.

More than half an hour later, Jiang Feng saw the fireball on the horizon again, and he was slightly surprised.

How did the USA react so quickly this time?
