Reborn As a Snake, I Can Absorb Fear

Chapter 138 The End of Los AngelesIt took Jiang Feng just over half an hour to arrive at Los Angeles. Looking at the bustling metropolis with its forest of high-rise buildings before him, a surge of excitement ignited in Jiang Feng’s heart; endless fear points were hidden within this city.

According to memories from his past life, a metropolis like Los Angeles had a permanent population of several million, several times that of San Francisco.

”Hehehe! The Big White Snake has arrived.”

Jiang Feng let out a wild, cackling laugh. The sound seemed to pierce through the soul, reaching the ears of everyone in the city.

Everyone instinctively looked in the direction the sound came from. On the horizon, a massive body that reached straight into the sky stood at the edge of the city.

The head of that figure disappeared into the clouds, and the sound came from within them.

Everyone could not help but tremble in their souls.

It was simply too large; even the tallest building in Los Angeles looked like a tiny toy in front of this behemoth.

[fear points + 100]

[fear points + 90]

[fear points + 80]

...

After arriving in Los Angeles, Jiang Feng felt his rate of gaining fear points increasing exponentially.

”Hahaha, this feels great. A real-life disaster movie is about to unfold!”

In his past life as a human, whenever he watched disaster movies, Jiang Feng would feel nervous for the protagonists during their narrow escapes.

But now, the roles were reversed; he was the source of the disaster. So, who would worry for the protagonists now?

Jiang Feng looked up at the sky. Were there spectators beyond the fourth wall? Was he perhaps the main villain in the film?

Thinking of this, Jiang Feng suddenly felt a surge of excitement; he seemed naturally cut out to be a villain.

There had never been a villain in this world who survived to the end of the script. Who would come to put an end to him, the villain?

If someone really came, he would definitely rewrite the fate of the villain.

With a trace of inexplicable anger, Jiang Feng slammed his body down toward the small buildings below. At that moment, it was as if the sky had collapsed.

Niu Jinshan was a citizen of the Dragon Kingdom, and he was the second-in-command of a real estate company there.

During the company’s glory days, he had used his position to amass countless wealth. With an annual salary of hundreds of millions, he raked in money daily.

As the industry slumped and the company went bust, he vanished, taking with him the emptied wallets of countless homebuyers and the blood and sweat money owed to suppliers.

In reality, he was hiding here in Los Angeles, having purchased a high-end villa in a luxury residential estate.

To evade debt collectors, he had long ago transferred the villa to his wife’s name, and now he was living freely in the villa with his son.

His son attended an expensive elite school, and he spent his days living it up in high-end clubs.

He had thought this life would continue forever because the wealth he had transferred to his wife and child was enough for him to squander for several lifetimes.

However, the arrival of the Big White Snake shattered his peaceful and enjoyable life.

At first, upon hearing about the Big White Snake’s invasion, he didn’t pay it any mind. In the USA, such bizarre disaster rumors often dominated the daily lives of the impoverished lower class.

He had no interest in paying attention to such news; even if many poor people died or caused a huge commotion, it had nothing to do with him.

Even when he heard about the attack on San Francisco, he didn’t take it seriously at all.

As a wealthy man, he knew that the country served people like them, and when disaster struck, they would prioritize protecting the wealthy.

Therefore, Niu Jinshan did not join the throngs of lower-class people crowding their way out of the city.

If it really was an invasion by the Big White Snake, where could those people possibly run to? The USA wouldn’t care about those poor people.

The other wealthy people in the luxury residential estate stayed in their homes calmly; they were all deeply convinced that the upper echelons of the USA would not abandon them.

Carrying this immense confidence and sense of superiority, they successfully waited for the Big White Snake to arrive.

The moment they saw the Big White Snake, their confident hearts instantly collapsed. They could no longer remain calm, and fear occupied their entire minds.

Niu Jinshan grabbed his ten-year-old son and fled frantically. The city was already in chaos, and it was impossible to drive out.

”What are the top brass of the USA doing? Why didn’t they stop the Big White Snake? Why didn’t they evacuate us in advance?” Niu Jinshan couldn’t help but complain.

At this moment, his perception of the USA’s top brass dropped to an all-time low.

However, he hadn’t completely lost hope yet. He took out his phone and made calls while running.

He knew some politicians in the USA and wanted to seek help. Unfortunately, the calls wouldn’t go through, or if they did, the other party would hang up immediately.

”Dad, look! That big snake is falling!” his son shouted in terror from the side.

Niu Jinshan looked back instinctively, his face instantly turning blank with shock.

He saw the snake body, previously standing over a thousand meters tall, falling toward them like Mount Tai pressing down. The massive figure blotted out half the sky.

At this moment, only one thought remained in Niu Jinshan’s mind: It’s over!

The sky had collapsed; his immense wealth and glorious second half of his life were saying goodbye right then and there!

Before death, the father and son held each other’s hands tightly.

The Big White Snake did not leave them any time to say goodbye, instantly smashing the father and son into molecular structures with the force of a million tons.

Boom! Whether it was a building dozens of stories high or a three-story villa, under the body of the Big White Snake, everything was reduced to powder.

As the smoke cleared, a zone of ruins over a thousand meters long and nearly a hundred meters wide slowly appeared in the city.

As the Big White Snake’s body moved away, it looked like ground that had been bombed by hundreds of missiles.

It was a massive scar in the city where the ground had collapsed, leaving a scene of devastation with not a single trace of an intact building.

With this slam, Jiang Feng didn’t know how many people he had crushed to death.

Anyway, he had completely lost the concept of how many people he killed. It was just like stepping on a group of ants; who would know how many were crushed? He just had to kill.

Jiang Feng’s snake body began to rampage through the city; wherever he passed, high-rise buildings were toppled, and low-rise buildings were pressed into the ground.

His snake head was like a massive battering ram; skyscrapers were easily snapped in half as he swept through everything in the city.

This time, Jiang Feng destroyed things more thoroughly than the last time. When he was in San Francisco, his size was far smaller than it was now, and many places escaped destruction.

This time, his massive size made Jiang Feng’s speed of destruction several times faster. High-rise buildings fell like chopsticks, and the ground rolled like a mountain spring.

If, the last time, Jiang Feng had beaten San Francisco back from modern society to the Stone Age, then this time, he was directly returning a modern metropolis to a primitive state.

Concrete was ground into powder, and steel bars were pressed into iron sheets. After more than an hour, Jiang Feng had wiped half the city off the map, including the hundreds of thousands of people buried within it.

Although they had received news in advance and most people had already fled, not everyone could make the decision to abandon everything, and many still held onto hope.

Of course, more people simply didn’t have time to escape. Jiang Feng’s fear points had long since exceeded one hundred million; these were fear points stained with blood.

But Jiang Feng was very excited; blood-stained fear points were more satisfying to use, and it felt more like a villain.
