Reborn As a Snake, I Can Absorb Fear

Chapter 143 Rocky Mountains”Mr. President, there is good news,” Obama said excitedly.

President Trump’s spirit jolted. ”Is there news about the giant beasts?”

”Yes.” Obama nodded.

”Quickly, where are they? How was the communication?” President Trump stared at Obama impatiently.

”Our Intelligence Agency recruited a woman named Alice. She has befriended a giant Kong beast, and that Kong has a giant beast friend named Godzilla. Alice has already convinced Kong, and Kong has agreed to call upon Godzilla to deal with the Big White Snake together.”

Obama’s face was full of excitement, clearly very optimistic about the two giant beasts.

After all, Kong and Godzilla were very famous, and they were giant beasts friendly to humans.

”How strong are those two giant beasts? Can they handle the Big White Snake?” President Trump asked hurriedly.

”Rest assured, Mr. President. I have already seen that giant Kong beast; it is over a hundred meters tall with an astonishing aura. It’s suffocating just looking at it through a screen.”

”Only a hundred-plus meters tall? The Big White Snake back in Los Angeles was already a thousand meters long.” President Trump’s face immediately fell.

”Rest assured, Mr. President. Kong is a power-type giant beast. Although it’s only a hundred-plus meters tall, its body mass isn’t actually that much smaller than the white snake’s. Furthermore, there is also the giant beast Godzilla, though I haven’t seen that one yet.”

”But according to Alice, Godzilla is no weaker than Kong—if not stronger. With the two giant beasts working together, even if they can’t kill the Big White Snake, defeating and driving it away will certainly be no problem.”

Obama’s explanation allowed President Trump to set aside the worries in his heart, and his expression immediately improved.

”Good, Obama. You’ve done very well this time.”

”Thank you, Mr. President. This is what I should do.”

”Where are those two giant beasts now?”

”They happen to be dwelling in the Rocky Mountains, but our people have discovered two other giant beasts as well.”

”What kind of giant beasts? Have we made contact?”

”One is a bird called the Thunderbird, and the other is a wolf, a Coyote. Both of these giant beasts killed the people we sent to communicate. To avoid provoking them, we haven’t sent anyone else.”

”Is that so? It would have been great if these two giant beasts could help deal with the Big White Snake. Under the siege of four giant beasts, the Big White Snake would surely die.” President Trump felt it was a pity.

”Rest assured, Mr. President. That Thunderbird dwells at the peak of the Rocky Mountains. If the Big White Snake wants to cross the Rocky Mountains, it will definitely encounter the Thunderbird. With the Thunderbird’s arrogant nature, it will surely try to drive the Big White Snake away. When the two fight, no matter who wins, it will be a pyrrhic victory, which is very advantageous for us.”

”Then has the Big White Snake’s trail been found?” President Trump asked again.

”The Big White Snake disappeared near the Rocky Mountains a few hours ago. It must have used some method to hide.”

”Good. Keep a constant eye on this. This time, we must kill the Big White Snake, otherwise, we won’t be able to give an account to the citizens who died.”

Not finding the Big White Snake didn’t bother President Trump too much; as long as the Big White Snake dared to go to the Rocky Mountains, it would encounter the Thunderbird.

If the Big White Snake didn’t go to the Rocky Mountains, then for the USA, there would be no need to worry about the safety of the east.

”Rest assured, President. We will definitely slay the Big White Snake and transport its corpse back to the capital for a public parade.”

Obama vowed solemnly. With the Big White Snake rampaging through the USA, his responsibility as the Director of the Intelligence Agency ranked among the top few, so only by personally slaying the Big White Snake could he redeem himself.

The Secretary immediately came over to congratulate President Trump.

President Trump’s tense mood completely relaxed at once. Humming a tune happily, he pulled the Secretary and began to perform a demonic dance.

A night passed quietly.

On a certain mountain peak on the western side of the Rocky Mountains, the elevation of this mountain wasn’t high, about two thousand meters or so.

At this moment, the mountain suddenly writhed.

Then, the rocks on the mountainside began to bulge, and after a short while, a long, strip-shaped object coiled around the mountainside.

That object was round and thick, encircling half the mountainside.

Immediately after, the object suddenly detached from the mountainside and transformed into a white snake.

It was exactly Jiang Feng.

Jiang Feng straightened his body and stretched lazily.

This sleep was very comfortable, like a baby sleeping in its mother’s embrace.

He hadn’t expected the Earth Spirit Body to have such an effect.

Jiang Feng recalled that while asleep, he felt as if he had merged with the entire earth, and his vision suddenly became incredibly vast.

It was as if he had become a planet, looking out beyond the starry sky, feeling the sense of loneliness within the cosmos.

But soon he heard the bustle within the starry sky; there seemed to be countless planetary consciousnesses communicating in the universe, sometimes laughing, sometimes crying.

The entire universe was like a wet market, with various voices intertwining.

This continued until Jiang Feng saw the sun. The sun was smiling at him, and then he woke up.

”I wonder if that was actually a dream?”

Jiang Feng was doubtful because that feeling had been too vivid.

The sun had just risen, peeking out from the high mountain ranges to the east.

Jiang Feng looked toward the east; he knew that was the main peak group of the Rocky Mountains.

The Rocky Mountains were not only over four thousand kilometers long but also a thousand kilometers wide.

Jiang Feng crawled toward the center of the Rocky Mountains. His body, over three thousand meters long, was like a moving small hill.

In an instant, giant rocks rolled, pines and cypresses collapsed, and the mountain terrain for dozens of kilometers around was trembling.

The wild beasts in the mountains were thrown into a panic, as if they felt the end of the world approaching.

Jiang Feng didn’t know if the USA had discovered him yet; he had long since left the densely populated areas.

There was no sign of human life for hundreds of miles around. The USA was already a country with vast land and a sparse population, and ninety percent of its people were concentrated in the east.

The western mountain regions were mostly vast deserts.

Dropping a few nukes would have absolutely no impact.

Jiang Feng was actually somewhat looking forward to the USA dropping a nuke now; he wanted to test if he could withstand a nuclear bomb.

Of course, he certainly wouldn’t test it in the center of the nuclear explosion zone.

If he misjudged, a ’test’ would become ’deceased’.

He only needed to run a certain distance away when he saw the nuke coming.

That’s right, just run away, without using the Star Escape Technique.

Running away in the time between seeing the nuke and it hitting the ground, running several kilometers away with his speed would be no problem at all.

That would put him just outside the central area of the nuclear blast.

Outside this range, the chance of him being blown to death was pitifully small. If he could remain completely unharmed in an area near the center, then he wouldn’t be blown to death even in the very center.

Sigh! What a pity, when I want a nuke, it doesn’t come.

Jiang Feng lamented all the way as he traveled blatantly through the mountain forests.

As long as one observed carefully, it would be very easy to discover a target like him, but the USA seemed to have stopped paying attention to him altogether.

An hour later, Jiang Feng reached an altitude of four thousand meters.

There was little green left here, replaced by patches of snowy scenery.

The tops of the mountain ranges were covered in glacial snow.

Although Jiang Feng, this snake, was a cold-blooded animal, his current Physique had long since adapted to any temperature, except for absolute zero and high temperatures above ten thousand degrees.

After all, absolute zero can insta-kill everything; existence itself loses meaning.

As for high temperatures, although Jiang Feng had the Fire Spirit Body, he also had a temperature endurance limit. He wouldn’t be able to withstand temperatures exceeding ten thousand degrees for a long time.

Of course, this ten thousand degrees refers to the overall environment, not a localized ten thousand degrees, just as a human can touch an object at sixty or seventy degrees but cannot survive in an environment above forty degrees.

If Jiang Feng wanted to improve his temperature endurance, he either had to upgrade the level of his Fire Spirit Body or improve his Physique to increase the heat resistance of his scales.
