Reborn As a Snake, I Can Absorb Fear

Chapter 28 Wang Hai’s FingersIn the darkness, Jiang Feng stared intently at the three flames in the center, with two more flames in separate corners.

The moment the light went out, Jiang Feng leaped down from the lamp, slammed into Wang Hai, and took advantage of the chaos to strangle him unconscious and drag him into a corner.

Although he somewhat hated them, he could not kill them right now.

Killing them would not only force him to live as a fugitive, but Su Ling would also be implicated.

Scaring Su Ling was one thing, but he could not bring himself to frame her; after all, he was a person who had turned into a snake, not a snake that had developed consciousness.

Time passed slowly, and in a dark, enclosed room, one’s fear would be magnified infinitely.

”Are we just going to stay here like this?”

”What else can we do?”

”I’m so hungry.”

”I’m hungry too, and thirsty.”

”Does anyone have any food on them?”

”If we had food, we would have eaten it already; why would we keep it?”

”Where do you think that snake went?”

”I don’t know.”

”Do you think it might have swallowed Wang Hai and is currently digesting him?” Su Ling smiled eerily in the darkness, uttering a sentence that made the others’ hair stand on end.

”Su Ling, isn’t that snake yours? Why are you saying things like that?” Jiang Huaian and the others seemed to sense something was wrong; why would Su Ling talk about her snake like that?

”I’m just guessing! How else do you explain why both the snake and Wang Hai have disappeared?”

”Su Ling, stop guessing wildly. It’s possible that both the snake and Wang Hai are just unconscious.” Jiang Huaian quickly stopped Su Ling’s wild speculation.

”What’s the matter, Teacher Jiang? Are you afraid? You were just about to kill Little White, remember!”

”Enough, Su Ling! We’re in this situation, and you’re still trying to scare us? Do you have any conscience left?”

”Hmph, I have no conscience? Did you have a conscience when you were trying to kill my Little White? None of you will escape; just wait to be swallowed by Little White one by one!” Su Ling’s words echoed in the ears of the three like a ghost.

”Su Ling, if you keep spouting nonsense, do you believe we’ll kick you out?”

Su Ling snorted coldly and said nothing more.

After a while, a crisp chewing sound came from the darkness.

”Who is eating?”

”It’s me.”

”Su Ling? If you have food, why aren’t you sharing it?”

”Yeah! Su Ling, you’re too selfish. We’re starving to death; hurry up and share some with us.”

”Why should I share with you? You were trying to kill my Little White earlier.”

”Su Ling, we should be uniting right now. Is there any point in dwelling on what happened before?”

”You want food? Fine! I need you to compensate me and Little White for our emotional distress.”

”Su Ling, you’re hilarious. What time do you think it is? You’re still asking for compensation.”

”Just tell me, are you going to compensate me or not?”

”Su Ling, don’t push your luck. If you push us too far, it won’t end well for you. Hurry up and bring out the food.” Jiang Hao grabbed Su Ling’s clothes and threatened her.

”Fine! I’ll give it to you, but let go of me first.”

”Hurry up.” Jiang Hao released Su Ling.

”I just ate two, and there are only three left. Each of you take one!” Su Ling said, handing one to each of the three.

”Su Ling, what is this thing you gave us?” Chen Qian felt the object Su Ling gave her in her hand, and a bad premonition welled up in her heart.

”Yeah! Why does this feel like a finger?” Jiang Hao frowned, and a sense of fear similarly welled up in his heart.

Jiang Huaian silently and quickly withdrew the item Su Ling had given him, which he had been about to put into his mouth.

”Food, obviously! Little White just gave it to me.” Su Ling said unhurriedly.

”Little White gave it to you? That snake?” The three exclaimed simultaneously. Then, connecting it to the shape of the food in their hands, an extremely terrifying thought was born in their minds.

”Su Ling, did you even know what it was before you ate it?” Chen Qian said with a trembling voice.

”Of course it’s food if Little White gave it to me! It’s delicious. If you don’t believe me, why don’t you try eating it?”

Could it be that I’m overthinking it?

Looking at Su Ling, who seemed completely oblivious, Chen Qian was doubtful, but the texture in her hand was just too similar.

”Su Ling, don’t you think this thing looks a lot like a finger? Couldn’t you tell when you were eating it?” Jiang Hao asked, suppressing the nausea in his heart.

”What? You were just trying to snatch my food, and now that I’ve finally given you some, you won’t eat it and you’re being picky?” Su Ling mocked.

”You two, stop questioning it. If Su Ling can eat it, why can’t we?” Jiang Huaian felt that no matter how eccentric Su Ling was, it was impossible for her not to be able to tell the difference between a finger and food; it must be food that just happened to look like a finger.

Jiang Hao and Chen Qian heard this and thought it made some sense; Su Ling shouldn’t be perverted to that extent.

So, the three of them put the food in their hands into their mouths. A moment later, Chen Qian was the first to let out a scream: ”Ah! This is clearly a finger.”

The other two quickly spat it out, retching uncontrollably.

”Is it a finger? I really didn’t know! Could it be Wang Hai’s finger?” Su Ling exclaimed, causing the three, who were still retching, to feel a fresh wave of horror and nausea.

”Su Ling, you are a devil! How could you do this?” Jiang Huaian pointed trembling at Su Ling in the darkness.

”Oh my! You were the ones who insisted on eating it; I didn’t force you to eat it. Isn’t that right, Jiang Hao?”

”Don’t, don’t come over! Su Ling, I was wrong. I will never dare to be fierce to you again.” Jiang Hao felt Su Ling approaching and quickly dodged away.

”Su Ling, I was wrong too. Can you let your Little White spare us?” Chen Qian, who was nearby, also started crying and begging for mercy.

In her heart, Su Ling had already transformed into a devil; she actually ate people, it was too terrifying!

”Hehehehe! Don’t you think it’s too late to beg for mercy now? You will all become food for my Little White.” Su Ling let out an eerie, strange laugh that made the three shudder.

”Su Ling, please spare us. We were wrong. For the sake of being classmates, please don’t eat us, okay?”

”Su Ling, I know your grandfather. When you made a mistake last time, it was me who reported it to the principal, and that’s why the principal came to save you. I did you a favor; you can’t let the white snake eat me.”

Jiang Huaian was also terrified. That finger just now was real; it was Wang Hai’s finger. The white snake really had swallowed Wang Hai and even bitten off his finger to give to Su Ling as food. Good heavens, what kind of pervert was this?
