Reborn As a Snake, I Can Absorb Fear

Chapter 12 Digital GamesAs eleven o’clock arrived, the lights in the entire dormitory building suddenly went out, and darkness instantly enveloped it.

”Hehehe!”

Jiang Feng’s spirit jolted. He poked his snake head out from Su Ling’s chest; all four people in the dormitory were still playing on their phones.

No, it wasn’t time yet. It was best not to be disturbed when he released the Evil Snake Domain.

Seeing the snake head poking out, Su Ling hurriedly reached out and pressed it back in.

Jiang Feng was speechless.

By nearly twelve o’clock, everyone had gone to sleep one after another.

Only Chen Qian was still chatting with her boyfriend, though it was unclear what they were talking about.

Su Ling also closed her eyes, but she used her arm to tightly clamp onto Jiang Feng’s snake body.

Whenever Jiang Feng moved, Su Ling would grab him with both hands to keep him still.

Jiang Feng felt helpless. He could break free, but it would inevitably make noise, and it might wake the others up.

Gritting his teeth, Jiang Feng decided to just use the Evil Snake Domain directly. Releasing it from his current position would be enough to envelop Chen Qian, but it obviously wouldn’t be enough to cover the beds of Jiang Wan and Yang Ping opposite them.

But he didn’t need to envelop all four of them. His current Mental Energy couldn’t maintain a domain for four people; the combined Mental Energy of the four of them already exceeded his own.

As Jiang Feng released the Evil Snake Domain, the beds of Su Ling and Chen Qian instantly vanished from sight.

If Jiang Wan and Yang Ping were to look across at that moment, they would see nothing but pitch darkness before them.

Jiang Feng’s spirit had completely twisted that space, and light could not penetrate it.

At this moment, Jiang Feng felt like the master of this space. As long as he thought it, this world would change according to his will, though the greater the change to the environment, the more Mental Energy it consumed.

Next, it was time to play a game with these two!

With a thought, Jiang Feng moved into mid-air. He looked at the surrounding scene; apart from the two beds, it was pitch black outside.

One could not see into the domain from the outside, and one could not see out from within the domain either.

No, this wasn’t scary at all.

Make the area beneath Su Ling and Chen Qian’s beds turn into nothingness.

Soon, the area beneath their beds turned into a void, and the bed frames vanished into thin air.

Still didn’t seem scary enough.

I want their beds to be suspended by a rope. Consequently, two ropes appeared out of thin air in the sky, each suspending one of their beds.

I want the beds to sway with the ropes.

As the beds swayed left and right, the two people on them finally sensed something was wrong.

Chen Qian put down her phone, which had suddenly lost signal. She had just been chatting passionately with her boyfriend but hadn’t received a reply for a while, making her anxious. Then she realized her phone had lost signal, and immediately after, the bed began to sway.

”What’s going on?”

Chen Qian panicked. She shone her phone light and discovered a rope inexplicably hanging above the bed.

”Ah!”

[fear points + 10]

Chen Qian’s scream also gave Su Ling a sudden shock; she realized the little white snake in her arms was gone.

Jiang Feng, in mid-air, hurriedly turned himself into a clown mask.

”I need some light.”

With a thought from Jiang Feng, the space suddenly brightened.

Su Ling and Chen Qian finally saw the surrounding scene clearly. They saw their beds floating in a void, each suspended by a rope hanging from thin air.

Whenever they moved, the beds would sway with the ropes.

What terrified them even more was a clown-like mask floating in the air.

”Ah!”

”Ah!”

Both of them screamed at the same time.

[fear points + 50]

[fear points + 50]

”Ladies, welcome to the Evil God World.”

”Who are you? Why did you bring us here?” Chen Qian asked in terror.

”Who I am is not important. What’s important is whether you want to leave this place.”

”Yes.”

”And you?” Jiang Feng looked at Su Ling.

Su Ling nodded in terror.

He finally got to see this girl looking scared. Actually, if the two of them gathered the courage to jump off their beds and run out of the domain’s range, they could return to reality.

The domain only twisted people’s perception and did not physically alter the real world in any substantial way.

Jiang Feng’s current Mental Energy could only change the surrounding environment to this extent; it was his limit. Therefore, to avoid revealing any flaws, he had to choose a simple game to collect as many fear points from the two as possible.

”Hehehe, next, let’s play a number game.” Jiang Feng let out an evil laugh and conjured a card out of thin air.

”There is a number on the card in front of me, a number between 0 and 100. You two will take turns saying a number. Based on the numbers you say, I will narrow down the range the number belongs to. Whoever says the number first...” Jiang Feng paused deliberately, then revealed an evil grin.

”Hehehe, then I will use scissors to cut the rope on her bed and let her fall.”

As Jiang Feng finished speaking, the scissors on Chen Qian’s bed flew through the air to Jiang Feng, and in the process, they automatically snipped in the air a few times.

Witnessing this eerie display, the two became even more terrified.

[fear points + 20]

[fear points + 20]

In fact, Jiang Feng didn’t need to play a game; he could just cut the ropes on their beds to generate fear points.

But that kind of fear only lasted for an instant, because they would soon realize that nothing happened after the ropes were cut.

”Then what happens to the person who doesn’t guess it right?” Su Ling asked weakly.

”Kekeke.”

Jiang Feng let out a deliberate, strange laugh. ”After the game ends, you leave here, of course! Understand?”

”Yes.” The two nodded hurriedly; at least they both had a fifty-fifty chance of survival.

”Good, then let’s start with you! Student Su Ling, say a number.” Jiang Feng pointed at Su Ling.

Su Ling tried hard to calm herself down. If the mask in front of them wasn’t toying with them, then only one of her and Chen Qian could survive.

She didn’t know what number was on the card in the air, so she could only grit her teeth and say a number, ”50.”

[fear points + 20]

”Hehe, Student Su Ling.” Jiang Feng gave an evil smile, making Su Ling shudder.

[fear points + 20]

Chen Qian felt a surge of joy. Could it be that Su Ling guessed it right on the first try? Wouldn’t that mean she was safe?

”You didn’t guess it! Next, Student Chen Qian, please say a number between 0 and 50.”

Jiang Feng’s next words made Su Ling breathe a sigh of relief, but also made Chen Qian’s heart tighten.

[fear points + 30]

Chen Qian gritted her teeth. Clearly, the later it got, the higher the probability of guessing the number on the card, because the range would narrow every time they said a number.

”20.” Chen Qian said a number nervously.

[fear points + 20]

”Hehe, congratulations, Student Chen Qian, you didn’t guess it! Next, Su Ling, please continue by saying a number between 0 and 20.”

Had it already narrowed down to within 20?

Su Ling became increasingly nervous. Between 0 and 20, the probability of each number was one in twenty.

”5.”

[fear points + 30]

”Hehe, you didn’t guess it right! Next, Student Chen Qian, please say a number between 5 and 20.”

Chen Qian was already trembling a little by now.
