Reborn As a Snake, I Can Absorb Fear

Chapter 7 Eating Dog FoodJiang Feng looked at his harvest this time; he had gained a full 800 fear points.

This could be exchanged for 40 attribute points. For now, his Strength and Agility were sufficient.

His current method of scaring people relied primarily on the disgust girls felt toward creatures like snakes, rather than using physical force to intimidate them.

”My main priority right now is survival, and Camouflage is an excellent survival skill.”

”But Camouflage requires strong Mental Energy to maintain, so I need to increase my Mental Energy. With enough Mental Energy, I can use Camouflage at any time as long as my Mental Energy isn’t depleted.”

Jiang Feng immediately spent 400 fear points to exchange for 20 points of Mental Energy, causing his Mental Energy to leap to 30 points, far exceeding that of an average human several times over.

With 400 fear points remaining, Jiang Feng chose not to exchange them for now. He didn’t know what crises he might encounter tomorrow, so he had to save some for emergencies.

Su Ling had unknowingly fallen asleep, tightly clutching Jiang Feng’s serpentine body.

Jiang Feng didn’t bother to break free and fell asleep nestled in Su Ling’s arms; sleeping on a human cushion was actually quite comfortable.

The next day, the four roommates woke up in a daze, with the other three looking visibly shaken.

”Did you guys encounter a snake last night?” Chen Qian was the first to speak.

She wasn’t sure if last night had been a dream or if it was real.

”Yes,” Jiang Wan and Yang Ping nodded frantically.

The memories of last night were too vivid for them; it couldn’t possibly have been a dream.

Then the three of them looked at Su Ling. Su Ling quietly hid the snake in her arms and shook her head.

”Su Ling, was it you playing a prank?” Chen Qian questioned.

All three of them were harassed by a snake except for Su Ling; it was just too coincidental.

”I...” Su Ling wanted to defend herself, but suddenly remembered that Little White also seemed to have intended to harass her last night, though she didn’t consider it harassment.

”Cat got your tongue! You have a guilty conscience. You saw that I didn’t buy you milk tea yesterday, so you wanted to get back at me.”

”Chen Qian, don’t be so full of yourself. I didn’t want your milk tea at all. Besides, what evidence do you have that I did it?”

”You secretly hid a snake yesterday, doesn’t that prove it? Maybe that snake just listens to you.”

”So that’s how it is. Su Ling, you’re too wicked! I didn’t even offend you, why would you let a snake scare me?”

Jiang Wan fully agreed with Chen Qian’s words and immediately began to accuse Su Ling.

”Wait, the snake I saw last night was very big. It didn’t look like that Little White Snake from yesterday during the day,” Yang Ping suddenly realized something was off.

”Simple, Su Ling must be keeping more than one snake,” Chen Qian speculated from the side.

”Oh please, your imaginations are really something. Why don’t you just say I’m the Snake God?” Su Ling rolled her eyes speechlessly.

”Su Ling, don’t get cocky. I’m going to tell the Class Counselor that you’re keeping more than one snake.”

”Then go ahead and report it!”

After the three left, Su Ling quietly went to Jiang Feng’s side and whispered, ”Little White, I’m going to class now. Stay hidden in the dorm and don’t run around.”

Jiang Feng’s heart stirred; he wanted to follow Su Ling out.

However, going out was a bit dangerous for him. His current size was somewhat large, and he couldn’t stay hidden on Su Ling’s body at all.

What should he do? Was he really going to stay in the dorm all day?

No, wasting a whole day would be a waste of his life as a snake. He had to obtain more fear points as quickly as possible. That bitch Chen Qian had been wanting to kill him; she might even bring someone to get him today.

Jiang Feng quickly climbed onto Su Ling and wrapped himself around her waist.

Su Ling tried to pull Jiang Feng off but found she couldn’t budge him; the more she pulled, the tighter Jiang Feng squeezed.

”Little White, loosen up a bit, I’m about to be choked breathless by you,” Su Ling gasped.

Seeing this, Jiang Feng loosened his grip slightly, but as soon as Su Ling tried to pull him off, he tightened his body again.

Su Ling was helpless and had to put on a jacket to cover Jiang Feng.

Along the way, Su Ling was looked at strangely by other students. It was a very hot day, and Su Ling wearing a jacket was particularly eye-catching.

Su Ling couldn’t take it anymore, so she went to a secluded patch of grass and stroked Jiang Feng at her waist. ”Little White, you stay in this grass. I’ll come back to get you after class, okay?”

Jiang Feng thought for a moment and felt that following Su Ling to the classroom for lectures was even more boring and a waste of time. Staying in the grass was fine, so he immediately climbed off Su Ling and ducked into the brush.

Su Ling finally breathed a sigh of relief; she would have been very nervous taking such a large snake to class.

Not long after Su Ling left, a young couple arrived at the grass and sat close together, acting all lovey-dovey.

They didn’t notice a pair of snake eyes staring intently at them from not far away.

Damn, even after turning into a snake, I still have to eat dog food here.

No way, I can’t let them be so happy.

Jiang Feng slowly crawled toward the girl. The two were still talking intimately, completely unaware.

The girl was wearing a short-sleeved shirt, and when she sat down, a bit of skin on her back was exposed.

Jiang Feng didn’t hold back and slipped into the short-sleeved shirt along the girl’s back.

The girl’s body trembled slightly. She thought it was the boy next to her being handsy, so she tried to push his hand away.

Then she grabbed Jiang Feng’s serpentine body. The tactile sensation of a long, tubular creature transmitted through her hand, and in that instant, the girl’s brain completely short-circuited.

”Who am I? Where am I? What is this thing in my hand?”

In terror, the girl brought the object in her hand before her eyes. A snake’s head with a flickering tongue was staring back at her with cold eyes.

”Ah!”

The girl was scared out of her wits and immediately flung her hand out.

[fear points +20]

Unfortunately, Jiang Feng had anticipated this and quickly wrapped himself around the girl’s arm, so he wasn’t thrown off.

”Ah! Snake, a snake!”

[fear points +20]

[fear points +50]

The girl flailed her arm while watching Jiang Feng crawl toward her head in terror.

The boy next to her also saw the snake on the girl’s arm. He was so scared that he hurriedly ran away, having no intention of helping the girl drive the snake off.

Jiang Feng opened his snake mouth and, under the girl’s terrified gaze, lunged toward her face. The girl’s eyes rolled back, and she fainted directly.

[fear points +100]

[fear points +10]

The boy not far away looked at the girl collapsed on the grass, still shaken, and didn’t dare to step forward to check on her for a while.

After the girl was scared unconscious, Jiang Feng took the opportunity to leave. He hadn’t actually bitten the girl just now; it was a deliberate move just to scare her.

Jiang Feng knew he couldn’t stay in this place for now. Since he had scared someone unconscious, security personnel would definitely come by in a bit.

Damn, being a scary snake is really hard. There isn’t even a safe place for him to scare people properly.

He had gained two hundred fear points from that last wave, and Jiang Feng exchanged them for 5 points of Strength and 5 points of Agility.

After his Agility reached 10 points, his speed increased significantly, to the point where a normal person couldn’t catch him.
