Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2717: Chapter 2713: Giving Up Halfway

”No, we’ve noticed this before too, but security isn’t our responsibility, so there’s nothing we can do about it. We just have to focus on our own work. Besides, these people are from the village, so nobody really paid that much attention to the issue,” Xie Jun had heard about this before.

However, upon investigation, it turned out that they were all villagers hanging out with some riffraff. They’re doing research, not playing cops. What could they do? Even if they wanted to intervene, it wasn’t their place. So there’s nothing much they can do; otherwise, what else can he do?

”But you all need to be more cautious. I noticed a few suspicious individuals,” Chu Molin wasn’t sure if they did anything, but their behavior was certainly suspicious.

Regardless, he felt that they should raise their vigilance.

Who says villagers can’t be manipulated, right? Ultimately, it depends on how the person in charge here handles it.

Chu Molin looked at Xie Jun. As a section chief here, he couldn’t afford to make this mistake, so he reminded him, hoping he would take it seriously.

After all, being prepared is better than being caught off guard. It’s still better to assess the situation before making a decision.

At worst, if they’re prepared and nothing happens, they can just withdraw. But if they’re unprepared and something does happen, the consequences would be too much for them to handle.

Everything here is related to national security and interests, and there can’t be any room for error. It needs to be taken seriously.

This is something Chu Molin doesn’t want to see happen, so he said a few words to Xie Jun, hoping he’d keep it in mind.

”Alright, I understand. I’ll have Da Bao take another look at the situation in a bit,” Xie Jun knew that Chu Molin wouldn’t say this without reason, so after listening to him, he decided to let Li Dabao investigate further.

Moreover, Li Dabao has often handled things well, so it’s best to have him take a look.

”Okay, you guys decide for yourselves. I won’t interfere in your matters, just giving you a heads-up,” Chu Molin didn’t want to overstep his boundaries and decided to let Xie Jun make his own decisions.

As for when this issue started, he didn’t know. They’ll have to see what Xie Jun finds out through the investigation.

This is all Chu Molin knows, so that’s about all he can do. Everything depends on them now; he’s not in charge anymore.

Having said his piece about the situation here, Chu Molin paid no more heed to it, leaving the rest to them to handle.

”How’s Jing Xin doing here?” Chu Molin wondered if there was any chance of transferring to the Imperial Capital, as maintaining a long-distance relationship wasn’t ideal.

However, he didn’t have the authority to make any decisions. He could only ask around for some insight.

But how can you put this? Sometimes, things are just like this: those who want to leave can’t, and those who don’t are the ones who end up leaving.

That’s the situation now, but if Jing Xin could go, it definitely would be possible, due to the influence of The Nangongs. However, they wouldn’t intervene, so if he wanted to transfer, he’d have to rely on his own efforts.

”He’s doing quite well. If there’s a chance in the future, I’ll have him go for further training. I just don’t want him to end up like you, giving up halfway,” Xie Jun had a hard time securing a spot for Chu Molin, but he wasted it, which genuinely pains him.

But no matter how painful it is, there’s nothing to be done. No one can change what the country decides, so they can only follow orders.

So Xie Jun didn’t feel that the situation was problematic. If things can be good, they should certainly aim for good outcomes.
