Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2459: Chapter 2453: You Should Rest More

Chu Molin wanted to be angry with her, but as soon as she got in the car she felt sick and vomited, and just barely managed to get better, only to start neglecting her health again. It really made him feel ashamed as a husband—was it because he didn’t do enough that she felt compelled to push herself like this?

Yet Qin Xue didn’t know Chu Molin was thinking this way. If she did, she’d realize he was overthinking it. She was just bored and wanted to keep herself occupied, but it was certainly not because of Chu Molin that she pressured herself this much; she simply wanted a career, a mental refuge.

She wasn’t the kind of woman who needed to rely on a man to live. If she didn’t do something, she’d feel uneasy, so she busied herself doing the things she wanted to do, that’s all.

”Hehe, maybe you haven’t seen me work like this for a while, so you’re not used to it anymore.” Qin Xue turned to embrace the man next to her. For him, it had been a long time since they’d spent this much time together, perhaps he wasn’t sure how to adapt to her lifestyle anymore.

”It’s not that, it’s just you’re a pregnant woman now. Don’t you think your task should be to rest more?” Chu Molin lowered his gaze at the woman who tried to appease him. Was she attempting to use her charms on him?

”I saw you guys chatting so lively over there, I felt bored to death sitting alone, and then thought perhaps there were no design drawings left in S Province, so I wanted to find something to do. Who knew once I started drawing, I couldn’t stop.” Qin Xue was simply sketching styles she had seen in the future according to the images in her mind, so the process was quick. Of course, she made some modifications, since people of this era weren’t as open-minded as in later generations. She wore a one-shoulder outfit and people said it was too avant-garde. They wanted it but feared others’ opinions. So, she thought perhaps she could design more—once enough people wore them, no one would say anything anymore. Then Qin Xue remembered the latest moneymaking idea. While the hoop skirts sold well over there, they were rare in the Imperial Capital and could be developed here, but now with autumn and the weather getting colder, this plan could only be implemented next year.

Meanwhile, other ideas needed to get started. Qin Xue designed several Tang costume wedding dresses, adding modern elements to the ancient phoenix gown styles, giving them a more contemporary feel.

”I know, I’m just worried you’re not taking care of your health. If your health fails, what’s the point of earning more money?” Chu Molin understood her thoughts very well, which is why he never restricted her actions or did anything to hinder her pursuits. Sometimes he just wanted her to be well; work and money could be earned slowly, but health shouldn’t be ruined, or everything would become empty.

”I understand, I won’t joke around with my health. You’re back now, and tomorrow you have to report to the office—have you thought about how to write your report?” Qin Xue knew after being away for so many days, he’d have to write a report. And since Chu Molin was still here talking to her about these things, he probably hadn’t written it yet, as she hadn’t seen him working in the room.

”I’ll write it now. You go freshen up and then head to bed to rest,” Chu Molin said decisively, settling Qin Xue’s next activities in one line.

”Okay, I understand. You sit here and write, I’ll freshen up.” Qin Xue stood up, letting him sit at the desk to write, making it more convenient for him to work.
