Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2385: Chapter 2379: The Person Is Missing

”The deputy team leader is right, we shouldn’t continue searching like this. We should descend the mountain first and let the professionals help us with the search. We also need to inform the research institute about this matter. Don’t forget, the team leader is Mr. Ye’s son; we must let him know as soon as possible, otherwise, we can hardly answer for this,” said another team member who understood Ye Xuan’s status, feeling the unpredictable changes of fate even more deeply.

”Yes, we have to report to the research institute and see if Mr. Ye has any arrangements. Then, I will take two people with climbing experience to search,” the deputy team leader considered that not everyone could go down for the search in this situation, but he could take two people, minimizing the danger as most of the team would have descended the mountain.

”Deputy team leader, I’ll go with you,” said the person who was previously denied by Ye Xuan, volunteering first.

”I’ll go too,” the one who had been with Ye Xuan the longest also spoke up.

”Alright, then you take the others down the mountain. Remember, the first thing to do after reaching the base is to report to the police and call the research institute to inform the leaders and wait for their instructions. Understand?” The deputy team leader arranged everything before leaving.

”Understood, deputy team leader.” The person designated to lead the descent was Qiu Zhiqiang.

”Good, let’s split up and act.” The deputy team leader instructed everyone to proceed according to the plan once he saw they were ready.

”You all wait here while I make a call,” Qiu Zhiqiang took them to find a phone as soon as they descended the mountain.

”All right, we’ll wait here. You go ahead,” the others agreed, noticing a phone booth nearby.

”Hello, I’m researcher Qiu Zhiqiang. Please transfer me to Mr. Ye,” Qiu Zhiqiang called Ye Xiao before calling the police.

”Okay, please hold on,” the operator replied.

”Hello, this is Ye Xiao.” Ye Xiao had just returned to his office when the phone rang, and he picked it up instinctively.

”Mr. Ye, I have some bad news for you. Please be prepared,” Qiu Zhiqiang began in a heavy tone.

”Has something happened to Ye Xuan?” Ye Xiao’s heart sank, and he asked after a brief pause.

”Yes, he encountered a Snow Wolf while picking snowdrops. By the time we arrived, he was missing... we discovered traces at the cliff edge. What should we do now?” Qiu Zhiqiang reported their findings to Ye Xiao, waiting for his instructions.

”Traces found at the cliff edge? Are you sure?” Ye Xiao inquired.

”Yes, the signs of struggle were intense, and with the traces at the cliff edge, we suspect he fell off the cliff,” Qiu Zhiqiang reluctantly confirmed. Although difficult to accept, the evidence left them with no other conclusion.

”Have you searched?” Ye Xiao asked from the other end of the line.

”The deputy team leader took two people to search. We’ve descended and are awaiting your instructions,” Qiu Zhiqiang, unsure of what to say, understood the need to allow the other party, especially since it was their son, some psychological buffer.

”Is there any safety assurance for the search?” Ye Xiao thought for a moment before speaking, ready to call them back immediately if not.

”There’s no danger at the mountain base,” assured Qiu Zhiqiang, knowing it was safe there since there’s no snow or Snow Wolf.

They’ve descended the mountain, and there’s no danger, so Ye Xiao’s concern was unfounded.
