Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2357: Chapter 2351: Silly or Not

Ye Li didn’t know what Qin Jiale’s habits were. When he found a piping hot cup of water in his hand, he looked confused at the person who gave him the water.

”Weren’t you going to drink water? Why are you staring at me? Drink it.” Qin Jiale picked up another cup of water and started sipping it slowly. She glanced at the empty cup on the table. She remembered she hadn’t drunk that cold water, so why was it gone?

”In such hot weather, you want me to drink hot water?” Ye Li glanced down at the water cup in his hand. Did this girl even know what time it was to be drinking hot water in this kind of weather? Was she doing this on purpose?

”Isn’t this what you said? I thought I’d give you whatever’s good. See, I’m drinking hot water too.” Qin Jiale put her half-empty cup in front of Ye Li to show him.

”You can drink hot water so fast? Or is your water cooler than mine, not as scorching as mine?” Ye Li looked at Qin Jiale. Is she a devil? She could drink such hot water so quickly—is she even normal?

”I drink this kind of water all year round; it’s already a habit. To me, there’s nothing ’hot’ about it. I’ve been drinking it since I was young, so I’m used to its temperature. For those who aren’t used to it, wait until it cools a bit before drinking, lest you scald your stomach lining.” Qin Jiale didn’t know what stomach lining was before, but she learned more about it over time.

It’s because she’s always drunk water at that temperature, her stomach has adapted to it without any harm. But Ye Li hasn’t drunk it before, so it’s better to wait until it cools a bit before drinking. Thinking this, she reached out to dare Ye Li’s cup.

”Hey, didn’t you give it to me? Why are you taking it back?” Ye Li wanted to snatch it back but was worried about spilling hot water on Qin Jiale, so he could only protest verbally.

”I’m afraid you can’t handle it yet, wait a bit, or maybe you could mix some cold water with it. Or I can help you mix it. I didn’t think of this earlier, sorry.” Qin Jiale put her cup aside, picked up the kettle, and prepared to pour some cold water into it for him.

”Agh!” Ye Li wanted to test if Qin Jiale’s water was the same temperature as his. As soon as the water touched his mouth, he cried out in pain; his tongue felt numb and probably was scalded.

”What are you doing? Don’t you know this water temperature isn’t suitable for you? Did everything I said earlier fall on deaf ears?” Qin Jiale hastily tried to snatch his cup away. Did she deliver a whole monologue to herself?

”I just wanted to test the temperature of your water.” Ye Li watched her drink, thinking it wouldn’t be as hot as his. Who would have thought it felt even hotter?

”Are you stupid or what? I clearly said I’m used to it, so I don’t feel it, but you’re different. My sister said that, unless it’s special personnel, regular people drinking such hot stuff will harm the stomach lining. Long-term, it can cause cancer. You should stop being so reckless.” Qin Jiale reached out to open Ye Li’s mouth and checked. Thankfully, there wasn’t any major issue—possibly because he drank so little, his skin hadn’t peeled yet, but who knows what’ll happen later.

Ye Li stiffened a bit after feeling Qin Jiale’s actions, but then relaxed again. Seeing her like this, it’s surely a reflex. If it were someone else, wouldn’t they take advantage of her? Thinking of this, Ye Li felt annoyed. Why doesn’t this girl have any sense of caution? Doesn’t she know this could be dangerous?
