Chapter 2384: Chapter 2378: Discovering Ye Xuan’s Peculiarity

When the team members reached the mountain top, Ye Xuan was nowhere to be found, and there were plenty of signs of struggle left behind. The vice captain squatted down to look at those marks, and his heart skipped a beat. These were wolf tracks; the captain had encountered a wolf.

”Be careful, everyone. The captain ran into wolves, so pay attention. See if there’s any useful clues left?” After examining the scene, the vice captain instructed the others. This place wasn’t like down below; from the looks of it, there might be other wolves around. If they did encounter them, they would be in danger.

Moreover, their current situation clearly showed that there had been a prolonged fight. From the moment they noticed something was wrong with Ye Xuan, he had encountered wolves, which is why he made defensive moves. By the time they got up here and spent so much time, it was imaginable that during this period they truly experienced a fierce battle.

But now they hadn’t seen Ye Xuan, nor had they seen any wolves, and even the snowdrops on Ye Xuan’s body were nowhere to be found. Where exactly had they gone? After speaking to them, the vice captain looked around again. His sense of doubt grew deeper, as did his sense of unease. Ye Xuan’s situation clearly seemed dire.

”Vice captain, there’s a discovery here.” Just as the vice captain was thinking of the worst possibility, someone on the other side called out to him.

”Let me take a look.” The vice captain walked over to the teammate who called him, looking in the direction he pointed. Here was a cliff, even steeper than where the snowdrops grew earlier. Yet there were marks of something having rolled down the edge. Could this be...

The vice captain thought one thing, but seeing the marks at the scene with his own eyes was entirely different. What should they do now? Should they go down to search or go down the mountain to find people to search for a rescue?

”Vice captain, what do we do now?” The team members saw everything and understood. Everyone was unhappy, deeply repressed. Taking in this scene, they all knew what had happened to Ye Xuan.

”The captain will certainly be fine. Let’s go down and find him. He’s definitely waiting for us to rescue him somewhere. Let’s hurry, or if we’re late, he might...” The one who was supposed to pick the snowdrops, the one Ye Xuan had stopped from going up, started crying at the vice captain’s words. He was supposed to go up, but the captain didn’t allow it. Otherwise, the one in danger would have been him. But now he couldn’t feel happy because it was Ye Xuan who replaced him, and the one who would have died would have been him. Although he kept saying that Ye Xuan would be fine and waiting for him, looking at such a high and steep cliff, he didn’t even believe his own words, let alone anyone else. Falling here might mean no trace left of a person, let alone surviving, which was impossible.

”You know it’s impossible. Even if we’re to search, it’s not now. We should find more professional people to help us. We only trained for such scenarios, but we’re not familiar with this terrain. Searching blindly would not be rescuing but putting ourselves in danger, which would be unfavorable to everyone,” said the vice captain, preventing them from searching without a clue, which would only burden others more.
