Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 2064: Chapter 2058: Stolen?

”I’m asking what exactly you plan to do. Can you give me a straight answer? I have other things to handle,” Ji Yan said, as he didn’t have time to waste here; he needed to raise money to take his sister to the doctor.

”How about this: tell us what you’re thinking, and we’ll let you go?” Qin Xue looked at the struggle in his eyes. Sigh, another poor kid.

”My sister is sick, and I need to take her to the doctor, but I don’t have any money.” Ji Yan looked at the trusting gaze of Qin Xue, was silent for a moment, and finally spoke his mind.

”What illness does your sister have?” Qin Xue asked hurriedly.

”I don’t know. She just suddenly got a fever and developed a lot of blisters.” Ji Yan was frightened, so he had no choice but to do this.

”With skills like yours, you’d surely succeed stealing from others. Why target us?” Chu Molin looked at Ji Yan; others might not see how quick this kid’s hands were, but he could.

”I don’t know, I just had a feeling that I should steal from you. Who knew you looked wealthy, yet had no money in your pockets?” Ji Yan was beyond frustrated.

”Haha, so it’s our fault for not having money in our pockets for you to steal, is it?” Qin Xue chuckled. This little brat sure dared to speak. Her money was always stored in a special space; her backpack was just for disguise. It’s no wonder he couldn’t get his hands on her money. Not just the money, but others couldn’t take anything else from her either.

So when Ji Yan said that, Qin Xue wasn’t surprised at all. Even Chu Molin only raised an eyebrow.

”Miss, I didn’t mean it like that. Could you let me go first? I really need to go back and check on my sister.” Talking about his sister made Ji Yan anxious.

”Being anxious is useless; your sister might have chickenpox, and it is contagious. With proper care, she’ll be fine in a few days,” Qin Xue thought to herself. If people with chickenpox weren’t careful, it could spread, and scratching could spread it further, which was really annoying.

In severe cases, it can lead to shock, and in worse cases, it might be life-threatening. So people with chickenpox should avoid wind exposure and must be especially careful with their diet.

”Sis, do you know how to treat this illness? Please tell me. How much does it cost? I will definitely find a way to afford the treatment for my sister,” Ji Yan had been feeling despair upon hearing Qin Xue’s words, but the hope reignited in his heart when he heard the latter part.

This sister must know what to do if she’s saying this. As long as there’s hope, any difficulty can be overcome. He would definitely manage; as long as his sister gets better, what’s a little hardship?

”I do have a way, but aren’t you afraid I might be a bad person?” Qin Xue looked at the child; perhaps he trusted people too easily, which could bring trouble.

”I don’t know, but I believe you are not a bad person.” Ji Yan shook his head, thinking to himself that even if she was, he’d accept it. But he couldn’t say that out loud; what if she decided not to help his sister?

”Alright, for that trust, I can prescribe some medicine for you, but remember, you must avoid certain foods and maintain hygiene. If anything happens, it’s not on me.” Qin Xue thought that chickenpox wasn’t a terminal disease; everyone would get it at some point, either as a child or an adult. There were even some exceptions who never got it their whole lives.

”Okay, whatever you say, sis. I’ll make sure my sister abides by it.” Ji Yan nodded. As long as it could save his sister, avoiding certain foods was nothing; he’d achieve whatever it takes. Besides, they had no money, so even if they wanted to eat well, they couldn’t afford to.

However, the hygiene part stumped Ji Yan a bit. No matter how difficult, he’d find a way.
