Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1795: Chapter 1789 Don’t Overwork Yourself

“Look at what you’re saying, the child is willing to help our family, and we should thank her properly. How come when it comes to your side, there’s no need to thank?” Aunt Qin Wu chided Nangong Shulan.

If it were as she said, the child would feel awful. After all, she helped someone, and not even a word of thanks was given, which would surely make the helper uncomfortable.

“What I mean is, what’s the difference between our families? We’ve also received a lot of help from your family. If it’s like you said, we wouldn’t even know how to thank you.” When the kids aren’t at home, their family and Aunt Qin Wu’s family are close. They often rely on them to keep an eye on the house, otherwise, it would be hard on the in-laws alone.

“Alright, let’s stop thanking back and forth. No matter what, Aunt Wu, do you and Qin Gang still have anything you don’t understand?” Qin Xue just wanted to know if they understood everything, so they wouldn’t have no one to consult once they left.

“I think we got it mostly. Can Lele’s notes be given to us?” Qin Gang was worried that if they didn’t get something, they could still refer to them.

“Sure, I had her write them down for you in case you didn’t remember. Just take them with you.” Qin Xue didn’t plan on having her parents do this either, so keeping them was useless.

Growing bean sprouts is really exhausting. You have to get up around three in the morning to rinse, wash, and soak them. Once you get busy, it’s more than half a day. After that, you have to go sell them when it’s dawn, and when you get back in the afternoon, you still have to water them several times. It’s truly tiring, and most people can’t handle this kind of hard work.

Initially, running the breakfast shop was already exhausting for her parents. Asking them to do this as well would be overwhelming.

“Mom, after Aunt Wu makes the bean sprouts, you can buy some and make a cold salad to give with the congee at the shop. Business will undoubtedly be good.” Qin Xue knew that in the future, some delicatessens also served cold bean sprout salads, and they were priced the same as other cold vegetarian dishes. Although they were sold at a high price, they were in hot demand.

So Qin Xue thought that if her mother sold them in the breakfast shop, they would sell well because they were crispy and tasted great with congee. Qin Xue herself loved eating them this way.

“Alright, once your Aunt Wu makes them, I’ll try it out.” Right now, as long as she could make money, Nangong Shulan was willing to try anything because having money gave them confidence. No one in the village would dare look down on their family now as they once did.

Even those who were envious and wanted to cause trouble didn’t dare to, since Cheng Kunmin and the others were helping out at their shop. Most people knew what they used to do, so no one wanted to mess with them. They could only watch from the side as Qiu Lei’s family made money.

“Yes, I see you and Dad working so hard. Otherwise, I’d teach you how to make a few more cold salads to sell. That’s real profit.” Qin Xue whispered in her mother’s ear, her voice low enough that Aunt Qin Wu and the others didn’t hear.

Sometimes Qin Xue didn’t disclose everything. After all, she had to keep some cards close to her chest for her own family’s sake.

“I want to do it.” Nangong Shulan thought that she hadn’t really been involved with the shop lately, so she might as well let them run it and just pay them wages. Now that her daughter mentioned another way to make money, she wanted to do it.

“Do you think your body can handle it? Don’t exhaust yourself to the point where it’s not worth it.” Qin Xue felt that her mother was pushing herself too hard. Maybe she shouldn’t have mentioned it so her mother wouldn’t be tempted to do it.
