Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1794: Chapter 1788: Be Careful Not to Get Rheumatism

“As long as the beans and water don’t touch oil, they generally won’t go bad. Don’t worry, don’t be afraid. Since at first you might not handle the details well, you can start small. Once you get the hang of it, you can increase production.

We’re just about to leave, so we don’t have time to teach you at home, but we’ll tell you the method and let you try it yourselves. If you’re still unsure, you can write to us.” Qin Xue thought there’s no need to attempt too much early on, otherwise it would be a shame if things went wrong.

“Yeah, that’s right. Right now, no one in the village is growing bean sprouts. You can go collect some soybeans, or once you start this business, the price of beans will definitely increase.

Of course, it’s not just soybeans that can become bean sprouts; mung beans can too. Personally, I think mung bean sprouts are tastier. Haha, everyone’s taste varies, so if you have mung beans, you can also collect some.

But don’t tell others what you plan to do with them, or they’ll charge you a high price.

No matter if they raise the price or not, anyway, you can first collect cheap beans now, right?” Qin Xue thought if they told others their plans, the prices might rise, and even then, who knows if they’d sell to them.

“That’s true. Alright, we’ll go back and collect the beans.” Qin Gang had already planned this, and hearing Qin Xue’s advice made him feel even more committed.

Actually, Aunt Qin was worried about not doing it well, so she didn’t plan to collect beans. But after listening to Qin Xue, she agreed with Qin Xue; some villagers were envious, always making snide comments when others were doing well.

Now that they finally have a way to make a living, they can’t let it fail, otherwise, they’d be embarrassed to ask Qin Xue for help again.

Even if they collect too many beans and can’t turn them into sprouts, they could still use them to feed the chickens and ducks. They’re not allowed to feed pigs now, so their family doesn’t have any.

Actually, Qin Xue wanted to teach them to make tofu, but since someone in the village already sells it, she skipped that and taught them to grow bean sprouts instead.

“Aunt, Qin Gang, since growing bean sprouts involves frequent contact with water, you’re aware that people who frequently touch water easily get rheumatism. So after growing bean sprouts each day, take a sip of white wine before bed; just one or two sips are enough. It helps to dispel wind and dampness, preventing illness, got it?” Qin Xue recalled the hidden risks of this task.

In later times, many people made money growing bean sprouts, but they also easily got rheumatism. So their families always had medicinal wine, or at least white wine, to prevent rheumatism.

Right now, Qin Xue didn’t know what medicinal wine to prescribe for them, so it’s better for them to drink some white wine, to avoid spending extra money on medicine.

“Hmm, alright, thank you, Qin Xue.” Aunt Qin and Qin Gang were very grateful to Qin Xue and Nangong Beiying. These things are technical skills rarely taught by others.

Though they didn’t know how Qin Xue learned them, it was generous of her to teach their family, a favor indeed. They have to do their best and not disappoint Qin Xue’s efforts.

“No need to thank her; if your family does well, we’re happy too.” Nangong Shulan replied with a smile. She initially wondered why her daughter invited Aunt Qin and her family; it turned out to be to help them. Apparently, her daughter was mindful of their family’s past help. Otherwise, with her daughter’s temperament, she wouldn’t do such things, as she disliked trouble. Truly, it takes a mother to understand her daughter best.
