Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1757: Chapter 1751: Boasting Exaggeratedly

“Alright, I agree. Then pack your things. I’ll go talk to your aunt downstairs.” After Ye Li got the answer he wanted, he went downstairs.

Who knows what Ye Li said to her mother, but when Ye Zishu went down, her mother agreed to her request without saying a word.

In this regard, Ye Zishu felt her mother was truly biased. When Ye Li spoke, she listened; whenever Zishu spoke, no matter how much she promised, it was useless. She often felt like she was the one adopted, while Ye Li was the biological child.

“Xiao Li, do you think Shushu can really make it into the top 15 in her grade, like you said?” Yin Sujin didn’t want her daughter to muddle through when it came to academics, so she was always strict with her. She also knew her daughter resented this, but she couldn’t let her own dissatisfaction deter her from being firm.

“Aunt, rest assured. They’re going to study together, not mess around. Besides, didn’t Shushu say she’d work hard to get into Imperial Academy? So don’t you think she deserves a chance to improve?” Ye Li persuaded Yin Sujin.

To be honest, if Ye Li hadn’t visited Qin Jiale’s house, he wouldn’t have spoken to his aunt this way. Because most of the time, he didn’t want Ye Zishu running around outside either.

“Xiao Li is right. Don’t worry. Their family is good people. Letting Shushu spend more time with them will do her good.” Ye Junhua had just returned home and overheard his wife and nephew talking. Thinking back to what his daughter said at the door earlier, he immediately knew what they were discussing.

“Fine, I can’t out-argue the two of you, so I’ll drop it and go read.” Yin Sujin had no choice. With just three people in the house, the other two were in agreement, leaving her as the lone dissenting voice. What more was there to say?

“Alright, I’ll call you when the meal’s ready.” Ye Junhua nodded. In their home, he’s always been the one cooking. His wife didn’t know how to cook, so from the start of their marriage, that duty fell to him.

In their household, there was no such thing as “gentlemen stay away from the kitchen.” His own mother didn’t know how to cook either, so it was his father who handled the meals. Naturally, Junhua learned to cook from an early age.

However, his cooking skills weren’t particularly great, so meals at their house were limited to simple, everyday dishes. Things like vibrant colors, enticing aromas, or rich flavors? They didn’t have those.

“Uncle, do you think Shushu might not want to come back after going there this time?” Ye Li wasn’t worried about anything else; what concerned him was whether Ye Zishu might cling to her stay at the Qin house and refuse to return.

“No problem. If she doesn’t come back, we’ll just send more gifts to their family as a token of thanks for hosting her,” Ye Junhua said with a lighthearted tone. The reason he could say this so casually was because he’d gone through his daughter’s test papers and noticed her significant improvement. He had also investigated and found that this change began only after she started spending time with Qin Jiale.

In other words, his daughter formed better study habits and got rid of her previous bad ones after being with Qin Jiale. Because of this, he was happy to see his daughter build a good relationship with the Qins.

Little did Qin Xue know what Ye Junhua was thinking. Otherwise, she’d have said, isn’t this just like the “Metamorphosis” trope?

The idea being that many city boys and girls, due to being spoiled at home, became unruly and unwilling to study. They’d spend their days gaming or getting into trouble. Then they’d be sent to remote mountain villages to endure hardship, experience tough conditions, and learn what a hard life truly meant. Through this, they’d come to cherish their current happy lives and turn over a new leaf.
