All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 175 The Doomsday KnightIn the dark temple, the God of Sin sat on a throne built of bones.

A row of shadows knelt before him; they were his informants spread across various regions. At this moment, the last shadow was reporting:

”...The God of Metamorphosis has been hiding in his territory and won’t come out. His territory is surrounded so tightly by guards that not even a drop of water can get through; we can’t find a suitable opportunity. I’m afraid he has also sensed something is wrong.”

The God of Sin smiled.

That laughter was frenzied and piercing, echoing in the empty temple.

”A newcomer who just entered the temple is insignificant.” He waved his hand. ”Withdraw. Now is the real beginning!”

The shadow dissipated.

From deep within the temple came the heavy sound of horse hooves.

Four warhorses slowly walked out of the darkness.

The first was white, the second was red, the third was black, and the fourth was a sickly green.

A knight sat upright on each horse, a terrifying aura permeating their surroundings.

Plague. Slaughter. Famine. Death.

The Four Doomsday Knights.

The reason the evil camp had been retracting its power during this period was exactly because they were concentrating their strength to complete the doomsday conditions—the four divine offices were fully completed, and the four knights had taken their places.

”Go.” The God of Sin opened his arms. ”Let this world feel despair.”

The four knights galloped out of the temple, four beams of light soaring into the sky, shooting toward the four directions of the God-Forsaken Land.

...

The first direction: the Plague Knight.

Wherever he passed, the air became thick. People began to cough, develop fevers, and their skin began to ulcerate. Those elderly and children with weak resistance fell overnight and never rose again.

Towns became graveyards. Villages became cemeteries. Roads were littered with dead bodies that no one dared to collect for fear of infection.

The living locked themselves in their houses, afraid to go out or contact anyone. But the Plague seeped through the cracks in the doors, drifted in through the windows, and flowed in through the well water.

There was nowhere to run.

...

The second direction: the Slaughter Knight.

Wherever he passed, people began to kill each other. Brothers turned against brothers, fathers and sons became enemies, and husbands and wives killed each other. All the dissatisfaction, jealousy, and hatred accumulated in daily Life were triggered, turning into murderous intent.

In villages, neighbors turned their axes on neighbors. In towns, armies defected and attacked their own people. In castles, servants raised knives against their masters.

Blood stained the earth red. Corpses piled up in the streets.

No reason, no cause. Just killing.

...

The third direction: the Famine Knight.

Wherever he passed, the land became barren. Crops withered, fruit trees wilted, there were no fish in the rivers, and no beasts on the mountains.

People began to starve. They started eating tree bark, grass roots, and soil. They started eating the dead.

infants had no milk and starved to Death in their mothers’ arms. The elderly gave their last bite of food to their grandchildren and starved to Death in corners. Strong men would beat each other to Death for a piece of moldy bread.

The granaries had long been empty. Merchant ships no longer came. No food, no hope.

Only hunger.

...

The fourth direction: the Death Knight.

Wherever he passed, Life withered. Not because of Plague, not because of slaughter, and not because of famine—just pure Death.

The elderly died of old age, infants died in the womb, and the sick breathed their last in pain. Natural Deaths and unnatural Deaths were all accelerating.

The shadow of Death loomed over everything. Those who had just died rose from their graves, turning into the walking dead to attack the living. Those still alive watched themselves move toward Death bit by bit, powerless to do anything.

The Reaper’s scythe was harvesting everything.

...

Us Island.

Moby stood at the temple entrance, his face pale.

News came one after another. The cities to the east were gone. The villages to the west were gone. The ports to the south were gone. The places they had once done business with and exchanged supplies with disappeared one by one in the incoming reports.

”Plague... Slaughter... Famine... Death...” he murmured, his hands trembling as he held the Sunflower.

Luna walked out of the temple and stood beside him. Her expression was also grim, but she was steadier than him.

”Pray,” she said. ”The only thing we can do now is pray.”

The two turned and walked into the temple, kneeling before the divine statue.

That feathered serpent statue remained majestic, the black stones embedded in its eyes shimmering with a deep light under the candlelight.

...

Zhou Zheng’s Divine Thought hovered above the divine domain.

He saw those disasters. He saw the spread of the Plague, the expansion of slaughter, the ravaging of famine, and the omnipresence of Death.

Us Island was also being affected.

The air began to grow heavy. Some physically weak people started coughing, and small red spots appeared on their skin. Soldiers became irritable and prone to anger; a fight almost broke out yesterday. In the granaries, several bags of grain had already begun to mold.

But the situation had not yet deteriorated to the point of being out of control.

Zhou Zheng spread his wings.

A huge feathered serpent phantom rose behind him, slowly unfolding and embracing the entire Us Island.

The Authority of Evolution operated at full capacity.

The Plague Law struck, and the Life Law vibrated gently, rising to meet it. The Plague tried its best to pollute Life, but the resilience of Life far exceeded its imagination.

The Slaughter Law followed closely. The Law of Spirituality rose to confront it. Slaughter wanted to confuse people’s will and lead them into endless sinking. However, the Law of Spirituality awakened the wisdom in their eyes.

The Famine Law brought an extinction that annihilated everything. The Sun Law and Moon Law lit up simultaneously, alternating day and night, endless and unceasing, bringing a continuous supply of energy.

Finally, it was the Death Law. Within the Authority of Evolution, the Death Law moved slightly. It was one of the first Laws he had comprehended and had long since merged with him. When powers of the same origin met, there was no conflict, only a peaceful resonance. The Death Law receded.

Four beams of light spread out from Zhou Zheng, colliding with those invading Laws, canceling each other out and dissolving one another.

On Us Island, those who were coughing slowly recovered. The irritable soldiers gradually calmed down. The mold in the granaries stopped spreading.

But Zhou Zheng knew this was only temporary.

He could block the erosion of Laws, but he could not block the panic in people’s hearts.

The people on the island already knew what was happening outside. The news spread too fast to be suppressed. They looked at the sea, the sky, and every direction that might bring disaster, their eyes filled with fear.

Once fear spreads, faith wavers. Once faith wavers, the power he can exert will weaken.

Zhou Zheng withdrew his gaze, his Divine Thought landing in that temple.

Moby and Luna were still praying.

”Moby.” His voice rang in Moby’s mind.

Moby looked up.

”Call Leon and Serena,” Zhou Zheng said. ”Prepare a wedding.”

...

Three days later.

The square in front of Us Castle was crowded with people.

Those farmers who usually only worked in the fields, those workers who only moved goods at the port, and those Artisans who were only busy in workshops were all standing here now, looking at the high platform built in the center of the square.

On the platform, Leon Us wore a brand-new suit, the Uss Family emblem embroidered on his chest. He stood there with his back straight, like an unsheathed sword.

Serena Sea Serpent walked from the other side. She wore a long white dress, her red hair draped over her shoulders, looking like burning flames in the sunlight.

The two met in the center of the platform and stood face to face.

Moby and Luna walked onto the platform. They wore divine robes with the inverted ”8” embroidered on their chests.

”Witnessed by the God of Metamorphosis,” because Moby temporarily could not speak, Luna spoke on his behalf, her voice solemn and clear, ”Leon Us, Serena Sea Serpent, are you willing to become husband and wife?”

Both replied at the same time: ”I do.”

Moby nodded. He turned to face the feathered serpent statue that had been carried onto the platform.

”My God, please bless this new couple.”

The statue’s eyes suddenly lit up.

A soft golden light radiated from those black stone eyes, enveloping Leon and Serena. Within the light, the two slowly turned to face everyone in the square.

”Today,” Luna’s voice resounded through the venue, ”God grants Leon Us the power to manage this territory.”

She paused.

”God grants Serena Sea Serpent the glory of being the mistress of this territory.”

Leon and Serena knelt at the same time and bowed to the statue.

There was a moment of silence in the square.

Then, someone took the lead in cheering.

The cheers spread like a tide, quickly drowning the entire square. Those who had been terrified for days finally found something to be happy about. They laughed, shouted, and threw their hats into the sky.

Some began to sing, some began to dance, and some hugged each other and wept.

Joy dispelled the gloom hanging over the territory. That night, the entire Us Territory was brightly lit.

Wine barrels were opened, meat was roasted, and bread was distributed to everyone. Those who had originally huddled at home, afraid to go out, now took to the streets to drink and eat meat with their neighbors.

No one talked about the Plague anymore, no one mentioned the slaughter, and no one worried about famine and Death.

At least not tonight.
