All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 156 Nature of LawsIn the Void Realm beneath the temple, tens of thousands of Third-Tier Deities simultaneously raised the Tickets in their hands.

Those Tickets transformed into golden ropes that soared into the sky, precisely lassoing the Divine Thrones on the lowest level of the temple. The ropes tightened and pulled down forcefully.

One Divine Throne was dragged down.

Then another.

And another.

The ropes were dense, like golden rain flowing upward.

The first to be dragged down were the holders of weak divine offices—Murloc, Moss, Tide, Streaming Light... These divine offices were usually ignored, but now they became the easiest targets to pull.

The figures on those Divine Thrones had ashen faces, yet they were powerless to resist the rules.

Then came the stronger ones.

War, Hunting, Forging, Poetry, Harvest—the holders of these Divine Thrones struggled, yet they were still forcibly pulled down by countless ropes.

Finally, even the top-tier divine offices were moved.

The being on the Sun God throne opened his eyes, his body erupting with brilliant light, but the ropes ignored the light, dragging him down inch by inch. Moon, Death, Dream, Wisdom—one by one, these beings who were usually high and mighty were all dragged down from the temple.

Tens of thousands of ropes retracted, carrying those five hundred Divine Thrones and suspending them in the Void Realm.

The deities in the temple had various expressions.

Some were sneering, watching those unlucky souls being dragged down; some looked worried, their eyes flickering; some were expressionless, making it impossible to tell what they were thinking; and some held their heads high, full of confidence, not fearing the upcoming challenge in the slightest.

Five hundred divine offices.

This was the number to be contested.

Just when everyone thought the dust had settled, the Tickets suddenly lit up again.

A message was transmitted into the consciousness of all deities simultaneously—

”The ten thousand divine offices are full. To accommodate new divine offices, the Pantheon has decided to initiate divine office optimization. Weak divine offices will be forcibly cast into the God-Forsaken Land.”

”Those who create their own divine offices this time must sacrifice a complete divine office with similar Laws to obtain a divine office recognized by the Pantheon.”

As soon as the words fell, the lowest level of the Pantheon shattered with a boom.

Hundreds of Divine Thrones fell directly from the fracture. The figures sitting on them panicked; some tried to stabilize themselves, some desperately flew upward, and some simply closed their eyes and waited to fall.

The number of divine offices above the God-Forsaken Land began to skyrocket.

Five hundred... six hundred... seven hundred... eight hundred... nine hundred...

One thousand.

The number of divine offices froze at one thousand.

Those fallen Divine Thrones hovered in the Void Realm, lined up alongside the five hundred that had been dragged down earlier. Exactly one thousand Divine Thrones, one thousand divine offices, waiting to be contested.

The information from the Tickets continued.

”In this God-Forsaken Land, only three hundred complete divine offices will ultimately be born. The remaining divine offices will turn into nutrients to strengthen the victors’ divine offices.”

Tens of thousands of Third-Tier Deities and those who had fallen to the third tier would compete for three hundred divine offices.

In the God-Forsaken Land, failure does not mean Death; it only means the loss of a divine thought projection or the loss of a divine office.

This also meant there were no concerns.

This would be a hearty and thorough slaughter.

The time had come.

Those one thousand Divine Thrones exploded simultaneously. The divine offices shattered into countless fragments, turning into streaming light and plunging into the gray world below.

At the same moment, the Divine Thought Clones of tens of thousands of deities flew out simultaneously, turning into countless streaks of light, following those fragments and rushing into the God-Forsaken Land.

Zhou Zheng was among them.

He felt himself passing through the planar barrier, through that layer of gray clouds, his body constantly falling.

With every breath he fell, his power weakened. The outline of the Divine Thought Clone became more and more blurred and faint, finally dissipating completely—

Leaving only a seed.

A Divine Thought Seed.

It fell from high altitude, passing through clouds, through mist, through the coal-smoke-shrouded sky of a city, and dropped into that noisy world.

...

Meanwhile, the rules of this God-Forsaken Land appeared in the consciousness of all participants simultaneously.

[Rules for This Season’s God-Forsaken Land]

[Shattered divine authority fragments are scattered throughout the God-Forsaken Land. They contain the Laws from when the divine offices were forged, but their appearance is no different from ordinary items.

Only when a follower of a god who possesses the corresponding Law touches a divine authority fragment will it be activated. Once activated, it will emit the aura of a divine authority fragment within a certain period and area.]

[By collecting a complete set of divine authority fragments, a divine office can be synthesized. When you possess a complete divine office, you may choose to hold, transfer, or sacrifice it.]

[When only three hundred complete divine offices remain and there are no more divine authority fragments, the God-Forsaken Land Plane will conclude. The victors may take away the collected divine offices, their followers from this Plane, and their corresponding share of world source energy.]

In addition to the rules for winning in the God-Forsaken Land, there was also an introduction to the unique properties of divine offices and Laws in this Plane.

[The Three Major Properties of divine offices and Laws]

[1. Law Indestructibility: The Laws contained within divine authority fragments will not decrease or disappear. However, they can flow between different carriers.]

[2. Law Conservation: The sum of Laws contained in similar divine authority fragments is constant.]

[Gods can carry Laws and authorize their use for their followers to increase their strength. However, the total number of Laws is conserved. If more Laws are centrally authorized to one high-level follower, the portion shared with other followers will decrease.]

[The total amount of Laws in one’s own divine office can be increased by sacrificing similar divine authority fragments.]

[3. Divine Office Aggregation: If the followers of two different gods obtain fragments of the same divine office, their followers will intermittently and unconsciously be attracted to meet each other. divine authority fragments have a tendency to aggregate together.]

[The Law of Aggregation also exists between fragments of similar divine offices. The more the contained Laws overlap, the more similar the divine offices are.]
