All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 167 White Shark PiratesThe first ship of the White Shark Pirate Crew slowly sailed out of the Sea Serpent Family’s port.

The banner with the giant-mouthed fish at the bow snapped in the sea breeze.

On the deck, Tom stood by the helm, gripping the steering handle nervously.

This was his first time commanding a real warship, and his palms were slick with sweat.

The Gluttonous One lay in a bucket beside him, lazily basking in the sun.

”I say, Tom, why are you shaking?”

”I’m not shaking.”

”You are shaking. I can see it.”

”How can you see anything, you’re a fish?”

”Of course I can see; I have eyes.”

Tom took a deep breath, too tired to argue with it.

His gaze swept past the bow, looking toward the horizon where the sea met the sky.

There, a black dot was slowly growing larger.

That was their first target.

The KO Pirate Crew.

This stretch of sea was nominally under the jurisdiction of the Water Snake Family, but in reality, these pirates were the ones who truly called the shots.

Whenever the Water Snake Family’s merchant ships set sail, they had to obediently pay protection money.

If they didn’t? They shouldn’t expect the ship to return.

The leader of the KO Pirate Crew was called Old K, and he was an official knight.

His Fish Breathing Technique was said to be ancestral, allowing him to be as comfortable as a fish in water, walking on waves, and fighting on the surface.

If they were on land, none of the three major Families would fear him.

Unfortunately, this was at sea.

On the water, he was the king.

Tom gripped the steering handle, then loosened his grip, afraid that the Gluttonous One would see him shaking.

”Don’t be afraid,” the Gluttonous One said. ”I’m here.”

”What can you do, a fish?”

”I can eat.”

Tom: ”...”

...

On the KO Pirate Crew’s ship, Old K lowered his binoculars, a contemptuous smile appearing at the corners of his mouth.

”A bunch of greenhorns.” He tossed the binoculars to his lieutenant beside him. ”Look at that ship, it’s a converted merchant vessel; you can still see the marks of the cargo hold on the hull. And look at that flag, what is that painted on it? A fish? What kind of nonsense is that?”

The lieutenant leaned in. ”Boss, should we attack them directly?”

”What’s the rush?” Old K leaned against the gunwale, speaking slowly. ”Let them get closer, wait for them to deliver themselves to our doorstep. When we board them later, I’ll do it myself and teach these youngsters how to be pirates properly.”

He narrowed his eyes, watching the ship that was getting closer and closer.

”Robbing me? They’ve got guts.”

Just then—

Boom!

A cannonball descended from the sky, landing less than five meters next to the KO Pirate Crew’s ship, splashing a towering column of water.

Old K stood up straight abruptly, his expression changing.

”Damn it! From that far away, how could they possibly hit it!”

He grabbed his binoculars and looked at that ship. There were indeed ballistae mounted on the ship, but he knew their effective range very well, and they were still at least two hundred meters out.

How could they be so accurate?

”Accelerate! Full speed ahead!” he roared. ”Once we get close, they won’t be able to hit us!”

...

On the White Shark Pirate Crew’s ship.

In the cannon deck at the bottom, Moby stood with intense focus.

In front of him was a small window, offering an unobstructed view of the sea outside. But in his field of vision, he saw far more than that.

A standard parabola appeared before his eyes. The starting point was the cannon position at his feet, and the end point was that ship in the distance.

Numbers flickered—distance, wind speed, gravity, and even the weight of the cannonball and the thrust of the gunpowder. All the information was clear, as if someone had drawn a perfect math problem on a blackboard.

”Three degrees to the left,” he said.

The gunner beside him adjusted the angle.

”Fire.”

Boom!

The cannonball whistled out.

Moby stared at the parabola, watching it arc across the sea and land precisely on the deck of that ship.

Boom!

This time, it hit.

People on the deck fled in all directions; some were blown away, others fell into the sea.

”Reload,” Moby said, his voice as calm as if he were reading a book.

...

The KO Pirate Crew’s ship charged at full speed.

Old K stood at the bow, his face ashen. His ship was faster than the opponent’s; as long as he got close and boarded their ship, those ballistae would be useless.

Closer.

Even closer.

One hundred meters left.

Fifty meters.

Thirty meters.

Old K kicked off with both legs, and his entire body leaped from the bow. He traced an arc in the air, landing toward the sea—not into the water, but onto the surface.

His feet stepped onto the water surface, standing steadily as if he were on solid ground.

Fish Breathing Technique.

He walked on the waves, rushing to the side of the opponent’s ship in a few steps, grabbing the gunwale, and vaulting onto the deck.

On the deck, a group of greenhorns were looking at him in terror.

Old K scanned them and laughed.

Not a single official knight.

Is that it?

He raised his sword and walked toward the navigator at the bow. The navigator was wrapped in a wide robe, with the hood pulled very low, obscuring the face. Old K couldn’t be bothered to care who it was and slashed with his sword.

The navigator dodged to the side, and the robe was slashed open, revealing a head of long red hair.

Old K froze.

Although she had applied makeup and changed her appearance, that pitiable aura was hard to conceal.

Serena Sea Serpent.

The head of the Sea Serpent Family, that woman who only knew how to use the Charm Breathing Technique. How could she be here?

Serena was also looking at him. There was no fear in those eyes, only something he couldn’t understand.

Old K’s expression changed, turning from surprise to greed. He looked Serena up and down, his gaze wandering over her body.

”Head of the Family Serena, long time no see.” He licked his lips. ”I couldn’t touch you on land, but I didn’t expect you to deliver yourself to my doorstep. On this sea, I’m the one who calls the shots.”

Serena didn’t speak.

She simply drew two swords from her waist. The blades were long and thin, curved like snakes, with edges flashing with a cold light.

Snake-shaped swords.

Old K paused for a moment, then laughed out loud: ”You, a woman who only knows the Charm Breathing Technique, still want to fight me?”

Serena didn’t answer.

She simply raised her swords and assumed a starting stance.

Serena moved.

Her figure left an afterimage in place, and the two snake-shaped swords struck out like venomous snakes leaving their den, aiming straight for Old K’s throat and heart.

Old K retreated abruptly, swinging his sword to parry. The swords collided, emitting a harsh grating sound. His arm trembled, and he was shocked—

This strength, something is wrong!

He used all his strength to deflect Serena’s swords, stumbling back a few steps, staring at her with wide eyes.

”You... your breathing technique...”

Serena didn’t answer.

She simply continued to attack.

One strike, two strikes, three strikes, four strikes—every strike was treacherous and vicious, every strike concealed murderous intent.

Her footwork was as agile as a snake, her sword techniques unpredictable, making it impossible to fathom where the next strike would come from.

Old K grew more and more alarmed as he fought.

This is definitely not the Water Snake Breathing Technique!

The Water Snake Breathing Technique has no combat ability at all; this is something all nobles know. The Sea Serpent Family is able to establish a foothold on the island by relying on mercenaries, not the head of the Family.

But this woman before him—

The strength of this breathing technique is absolutely top-tier!

How could he possibly defeat a top-tier expert?

Serena’s swords became faster and more ruthless. Old K retreated steadily, and several wounds had already been slashed onto his body.

Finally, she unleashed a technique.

That technique was breathtakingly beautiful. Her figure spun, red hair flying, and the two snake-shaped swords traced two graceful arcs in the air, like a dance.

But within those arcs, murderous intent was hidden.

Old K’s eyes widened as he watched the two swords thrusting from both directions simultaneously. He wanted to dodge, but couldn’t. He wanted to block, but couldn’t.

The sword tips pierced his body.

One sword pierced his heart, the other sealed his throat.

Old K’s body stiffened. He opened his mouth, but nothing came out, and he fell straight down.

Serena sheathed her swords, bent down, grabbed his hair, and held his head high.

Fresh blood dripped onto the deck.

”Old K is dead!” she shouted loudly, her voice carrying across the entire sea area. ”Those who surrender will be spared!”

On the opposite ship of the KO Pirate Crew, those pirates stared blankly at this scene. Their boss, that invincible knight of the sea, the man who had allowed them to run rampant in this sea area for over a decade—

Was dead?

Killed by a woman?

On the deck, the White Shark Pirate Crew’s greenhorns had already charged forward. They were howling, brandishing their weapons, and beating those still-dazed pirates to a pulp.

Originally, the strength of both sides was similar, and the fight was back and forth. But now that the boss was dead, who had the heart to fight?

The morale of the KO Pirate Crew collapsed. Some threw down their weapons and surrendered, some jumped into the sea to flee, and some knelt on the ground shivering.

A quarter of an hour later, the battle ended.

Tom stood by the helm, staring blankly at everything.

The Gluttonous One poked its head out of the bucket and whistled—although it was strange for a fish to whistle.

”Not bad, that redhead.”

Tom swallowed his saliva.

Of course he recognized that red-haired woman. She was the head of the Sea Serpent Family, who was still their prisoner yesterday. Now—

He looked toward the figure standing at the bow in the distance, still holding Old K’s head in her hand.

The sunlight fell upon her, and that red hair looked like burning flames.

A glorious victory.

...

Serena tossed the head to the sailor beside her, her gaze falling on the distant horizon.

She remembered that night, the person who had suddenly appeared in the dungeon. Mobi Us, that blind young master, holding that pot of sunflowers, standing before her.

”Do you want to live?” he asked.

She wanted to live.

”Do you want to obtain power?”

She did.

”Do you want to make those who look down on you kneel before you?”

She did. She wanted it so much.

That pot of sunflowers swayed gently.

A brand-new breathing technique flooded into her mind.

Zhou Zheng could improve Leon’s Eagle Breathing Technique, so of course he could improve Serena’s Water Snake Breathing Technique!

This time he referenced the magic flow of the Elemental Naga, and while inheriting the original snake-like flexibility and treacherous footwork, it also gained a rudimentary ability to manipulate water.

It could be said that this was the true Water Snake Breathing Technique!
