Livestream Conflict-solver: The Whole Internet Begs Me for Justice!

22: Identity - Top InvestigatorThird Middle School, Principal’s Office.

Principal Wang, with a receding hairline, gold-rimmed glasses, and a modest beer belly, was holding a cup of goji berries and monk fruit, savoring his freshly practiced calligraphy—”Thick Virtue Carries All Things.”

He was very satisfied with this piece of work; the brushstrokes were vigorous and powerful, showing a master’s touch. He had already decided to have it framed tomorrow and hung in the most prominent position in his office, to display his cultural depth and educational philosophy as a school principal.

Just then, there was a ”knock, knock, knock” at the office door.

”Come in,” Principal Wang said without lifting his head, slowly blowing on the hot tea in his cup.

Director Liu, the dean of students, pushed the door open with a worried expression, holding a mobile phone in his hand.

”Principal Wang, this is bad, something has happened!”

Principal Wang disliked nothing more than his subordinates acting as if the sky was falling. He put down his teacup and frowned unhappily: ”Panicking like this, what kind of decorum is that? What could be more important than our city-level outstanding model school evaluation next month?”

Director Liu didn’t care about being reprimanded. He took quick steps to the desk and handed his phone screen to Principal Wang.

”Principal, look! It’s this, an internet celebrity called ’Brother Pingshi’ posted a video on Note, saying... saying he’s coming to our school to investigate some campus bullying incident, and he even specifically named our Senior Class (2)!”

Principal Wang adjusted his glasses and squinted as he leaned in.

In the video, Zhang Ze’s handsome but cold face filled the entire screen, and his declaration, ”Tomorrow at nine in the morning, in my livestream, we’ll see each other there,” was delivered with resounding clarity.

The comment section had already accumulated tens of thousands of replies, with an alarming level of popularity.

”What is this nonsense?” Principal Wang finished watching the video, scoffed, and leaned back in his spacious executive chair, his face full of disdain and contempt.

”An internet celebrity? These young people nowadays will do anything to get famous.

Campus bullying? How could he even think of that! This kind of script is being pinned on our Third Middle School?”

Director Liu was so anxious that sweat beaded on his forehead: ”But Principal, this video has too much influence. Now many people are leaving comments on our school’s official account, and the phones are almost ringing off the hook, all asking about this matter. What if he really comes tomorrow, bringing a large group of people to block the school gate? That scene...”

”So what if he comes?” Principal Wang impatiently waved his hand, picked up his teacup, and resumed his composed demeanor, ”He’s just a lowly internet celebrity, what kind of trouble can he cause? You, you just haven’t seen enough of the world.”

He took a sip of tea and calmly analyzed: ”This is one hundred percent hype! A script! Understand? First, find an excuse, use our school as a backdrop to attract attention. Tomorrow, at most, he’ll just wander around the school gate, shoot some footage, then post a video saying our school wouldn’t let him in, then play the victim to gain sympathy, and isn’t that how he gets traffic? It’s all a routine!”

”As for the Senior Class (2) he mentioned... Hmph, he probably found an accomplice himself, one willing to be hit and the other willing to hit, putting on a show for us. If you go investigating in a big way now, you’ll fall into his trap, and it’ll be like helping him promote for free!”

Director Liu was stunned, feeling like there was some truth to this.

”Then... then what do we do? Just wait like this?”

”There’s nothing to do,” Principal Wang waved his hand confidently, ”Notify the security team to strengthen patrols at the school gate tomorrow, don’t let those messy fans disrupt the school’s normal teaching order. If that ’Brother Pingshi’ really dares to come, just politely ask him to leave. If he dares to force his way in, call the police directly and accuse him of picking quarrels and provoking trouble!”

”Remember, we are a place for educating people. A righteous person fears no slander. Don’t be led by the nose by a clown who’s desperate for fame.”

”Yes, yes, yes, Principal, you are far-sighted!” Director Liu nodded repeatedly, the stone in his heart finally settling.

Principal Wang’s words made him completely believe that this was nothing more than a boring farce. An internet celebrity, what kind of waves could he stir up?

At the same time, Zhang Ze’s fan group had completely erupted.

”Everyone, look at me! I have an announcement! Tomorrow at nine in the morning, we’re marching on Third Middle School! I’ve even thought of a slogan!”

”What slogan?”

”Brother Ze’s expedition, leaving no blade of grass! Kicking Nanshan Nursing Home, punching Beihai Kindergarten! All Third Middle School bullies, taken down!”

”Upstairs, why does your slogan sound like it’s for a villain?”

”Hahaha, never mind! I’ve already taken leave! I’m going to the scene tomorrow to cheer on Brother Ze! No one can stop me!”

”Brothers who can’t make it to the scene, gather in the livestream! Shower him with gifts, we can’t lose our momentum! Let the leaders of Third Middle School see the might of our Ze Family Army!”

And at the center of all this storm, Zhang Ze himself, was unusually calm.

He turned off the noisy comments and private messages on his phone and opened the system panel.

A line of golden text lay quietly on the panel. Zhang Ze gently tapped it with his mind, and a well-made electronic work ID appeared before him. The photo was his own, with a righteous gaze, exuding integrity. Name, number, position, steel stamp, everything was complete.

Friday, early morning.

Zhang Ze stood in front of the mirror, carefully adjusting his attire.

Instead of his usual casual T-shirt for livestreams, he had changed into a completely different outfit today. A crisp white shirt, buttoned to the very top, covered by a thin dark blue jacket. On the left chest of the jacket was an inconspicuous badge embroidered with golden wheat ears and a shield. His trousers were straight black dress pants, paired with a pair of shiny black leather shoes.

This outfit was the [Special Investigator] exclusive uniform he had exchanged with fan favor value from the system store overnight yesterday. It looked understated, but those in the know could immediately see the unmistakable official aura.

He pulled a serious expression at himself in the mirror and nodded in satisfaction. Now, who would dare to say he was just a troublesome internet celebrity loafer?

”System, start livestream,” he murmured in his mind.

The next second, a virtual livestream interface, visible only to him, unfolded before his eyes. He had changed the livestream title to ten large characters: [In the Name of Justice, Act with Thunderous Force].

As soon as the livestream started, tens of thousands of viewers poured in instantly, and the bullet comments flowed like a flood.

”They’re here, they’re here! Damn, why is Brother Ze dressed like an old cadre today?”

”This outfit is too handsome! The abstinent male god! Brother Ze, how many more surprises do you have that we don’t know about?”

”Don’t be fooled by appearances, this is a battle uniform! Understand? Put on the battle uniform, prepare for battle!”

”Coordinates have been sent to the group. Brothers are already in position at the entrance of Third Middle School. They say the security guards are watching the school gate like thieves, the atmosphere is very tense!”
