Livestream Conflict-solver: The Whole Internet Begs Me for Justice!

13: When you see injustice, draw your sword to help!Watching the girl’s serious expression, Zhang Ze ”reluctantly” nodded: ”Alright, since you’re so insistent... However, I get to pick the place.”

”Okay!” Sera immediately beamed, as if afraid he would change his mind.

Zhang Ze didn’t take her to any high-end Western restaurant. Instead, he led her through several turns and into an old alley full of local life.

At the end of the alley was an ”Old Li’s Dumpling House,” with a signboard that was a bit faded.

”This is it,” Zhang Ze introduced with a smile. ”Don’t let the small shop fool you; their Three Delicacies Dumplings are absolutely superb.”

Sera curiously observed the simple little shop, which was a stark contrast to the opulent ”Yayun Tea House” from earlier. But for some reason, she felt more at ease here.

As soon as they sat down, the enthusiastic proprietress brought over two cups of hot tea: ”Oh, Little Zhang, brought a friend today? This girl is really pretty!”

As the proprietress spoke, Zhang Ze’s mind was calm, without the slightest prickling sensation.

Lie Recognition told him that the proprietress was genuinely complimenting her.

Zhang Ze felt pleased, but humbly said, ”Aunt Li, this is my friend; she’s from abroad. We’ll have two servings of Three Delicacies Dumplings, and a plate of braised beef.”

”Coming right up!”

The steaming hot dumplings quickly arrived, with thin skins, generous fillings, and an inviting aroma.

Sera picked up her chopsticks but struggled. She tried to imitate Zhang Ze, clumsily attempting to pick up a dumpling for a long time, but couldn’t successfully get a single one into her mouth.

”Haha, don’t rush,” Zhang Ze said with a laugh, reaching over and holding her hand, adjusting her chopstick grip. ”Like this, use the top one to move, and keep the bottom one still.”

Zhang Ze’s palm was broad and warm. Sera’s face instantly flushed, her heart rate quickened again, and she could barely hold onto the chopsticks in her hand. She couldn’t hear any of the instructions.

The audience in the live stream had gone wild.

”Ahhhhh! Holding hands! Hand-in-hand teaching!”

”Blood sugar soaring! Someone save me!”

”Brother Ze, you beast! Let go of that girl, let me do it!”

With Zhang Ze’s help, Sera finally managed to pick up a dumpling. She cautiously took a bite, and her eyes instantly lit up: ”Delicious! So delicious! Much better than the Michelin restaurants back home!”

Watching her satisfied expression, Zhang Ze also smiled.

”Zhang,” Sera asked curiously while eating, ”Are you really... Brother Pingshi? You know, someone who specifically helps others and fights injustice?”

”More or less,” Zhang Ze took a sip of tea. ”To draw a sword when one sees injustice on the road. This is a tradition of our Chinese xia ke.”

”Xia ke...” Sera chewed on the word, and the admiration in her eyes deepened a few shades. ”You’re so cool!”

The meal ended in a pleasant atmosphere. When it was time to pay, Sera rushed to pay, but Zhang Ze smilingly stopped her.

”I said I’d pick the place, so of course, I’m treating,” Zhang Ze paid with a scan code without further discussion. ”Consider it a welcome to our beautiful city.”

Sera looked at him, her lips moved, but she ultimately didn’t argue further, simply taking his kindness to heart.

After walking Sera to her international student apartment building, she reluctantly said goodbye to Zhang Ze and proactively asked for his contact information.

”Zhang, today was really... thank you very, very much!” Sera gathered her courage, quickly kissed Zhang Ze on the cheek, then blushed and ran into the apartment building.

Zhang Ze touched his cheek, stunned in place, then smiled.

This trip was worth it.

He turned off the live stream and said contentedly to the air, ”Brothers, that’s all for today. Brother Ze will be live streaming from home tonight, so don’t miss it.”

Almost simultaneously, the system’s notification sound rang in his mind.

”Ding! Urgent mission: The Trap of the Sky-High Tea, perfectly completed!”

”Mission evaluation: Perfect! The Host, with Chinese Kung Fu, defended the wallets and dignity of international friends, displayed the demeanor of a great nation, promoted positive energy, and incidentally received a fragrant kiss from a foreign fan. Both social impact and personal charm are abundant!”

”Mission rewards issued: 15000 fan favor value! Skill [Vehicle Driving (Mastery)] has been issued!”

”Current fan favor value: 15000”

”Vehicle Driving (Mastery): From bicycles to heavy trucks, from jet skis to small yachts, as long as it’s a common civilian vehicle, you can instantly pick it up and achieve the proficiency of a veteran driver.”

Zhang Ze’s eyes lit up.

This is great! From now on, when handling matters, he wouldn’t need to take taxis anymore! Whether chasing people by car or by boat, he could show off some moves!

It was another fruitful night.

Back in his rented room, Zhang Ze still felt a bit lightheaded.

He touched the cheek Sera had kissed, as if he could still feel the soft touch and faint fragrance.

”Bringing glory to the country is an inescapable duty,” Zhang Ze posed what he considered a very handsome posture to himself in the mirror, admiring himself for a good while.

After calming down, he sat on the edge of the bed and began to plan his future.

The identity of Brother Pingshi was now firmly established.

He had fans, he had popularity, and his skills were becoming more and more comprehensive.

But looking at his bare-walled rented room, he always felt something was missing.

To do a good job, one must first sharpen one’s tools.

His gaze fell on the ”meritorious” old computer in the corner.

This computer had accompanied him through countless nights spent on instant noodles and games, and it had also witnessed the beginning of his live streaming career.

But now, it couldn’t keep up with Brother Pingshi’s progress.

Its startup speed was slower than a snail’s pace, and opening a few programs at once made it lag like a slideshow.

During yesterday’s live stream, he was even worried that the screen would suddenly freeze, affecting the viewing experience of his esteemed audience.

What if the live stream froze during his highlight moment of freestyling and slapping a bad guy? How much of a buzzkill would that be?

What if, due to lag, a rich sister missed out on sending a rocket? The loss would be huge!

”No, it must be replaced!” Zhang Ze made up his mind.

He pulled out his phone and checked his bank balance again.

He had spent dozens of yuan treating Sera to dumplings, and some on taxi fares back and forth. Now he had over six thousand yuan left in his card.

In the past, he would definitely save it for a rainy day.

But now, he was Brother Pingshi, with a hundred thousand fans (it had grown again last night), so his perspective was different.

Saving this money in the bank wouldn’t even earn enough interest for a good meal in a year. But if he invested it in live streaming equipment, that would be investing in the future!

”Money is a bastard; you spend it and you can earn it again!” Zhang Ze cheered himself on, and that simple consumer philosophy of ”if you have money, you should spend it” once again took over.

Without another word, he grabbed his jacket and headed straight for the city’s largest digital market.
