What if your Honkai Star Rail was like this?

Chapter 347: Chapter 347 Kafka PV: Failed Man

The scene shifted, and the view returned to the Palace of Astrum.

[Jing Yuan: I just remembered, this is the time when the Astral Express crew first visited the Luofu. I should have been the one to receive them, but right now I’m just an ordinary person here. It looks like it’s time for ”General Fu Xuan” to appear next.]

[Fu Xuan: Cough cough... General, although this seat does indeed have such intentions, it’s still too early to say that. What if the general who appears later isn’t me? That would be embarrassing.]

Hehe, even Fu Xuan herself didn’t believe what she just said.

In reality, there was indeed no one in the entire Luofu more suitable for the position of General than Fu Xuan. In terms of ability, although Fu Xuan occasionally couldn’t keep her cool, only Yukong at the Helm Master of the Sky-Faring Commission and Lingsha at the Alchemy Commission could compare.

However, Yukong didn’t have many years left and had no intention of taking the position, nor was she familiar with the related work. Lingsha had just taken over the Alchemy Commission and still lacked seniority... Neither was a better choice.

Not to mention the term ”shorty General” that had just been mentioned.

Although Fu Xuan usually hated people talking about her height, at this critical moment, height didn’t seem so important anymore. The only thing that mattered was the position of ”General.” If she could become General, what did it matter if she was a bit short?

This was what Fu Xuan had pursued her entire life.

[Qingque: Divination Commissioner is truly too modest. Everyone in the Luofu knows about your wild ambitions... ah pfft, your deep scheming and great... pfft! Your great ambition! In a parallel universe, the position of General is definitely yours!]

[Qingque: If you ask me, seeing this livestream today is actually a good thing. Divination Commissioner, just treat it as getting familiar with the workflow in advance and cultivating some General aura!]

[Fu Xuan: Cough cough— Qingque, you know this seat doesn’t like flattery...]

[Qingque: Ai ya, Divination Commissioner, how could I not know? But your subordinate is only telling the truth. That should be fine, right?]

[Fu Xuan: ...Hmph, you do have good insight.]

Whoosh—

At this moment, a holographic projection suddenly appeared in the scene, projecting a petite figure. Accompanied by a smiling voice: ”This seat is the Divine Strategist General. Welcome, honored guests who have come from afar to the Luofu.”

”Qingque is here to see the two of you.”

”Divine Strategist General” smiled gently at the two and cupped her hands in greeting.

[Fu Xuan: ...???]

[Qingque: ???]

[Fu Xuan: Qing-Qingque, did I mishear just now? What is the name of the General in there?]

[Qingque: I-I was distracted and didn’t hear clearly either...]

[Stelle: Eh? Even in there, Divination Commissioner didn’t become General? Qingque actually took the position?]

[March 7th: So tragic... Divination Commissioner, are you okay?]

[Fu Xuan: Aaaaah... Hmph! It’s just a fictional film after all. You really think it can disturb this seat’s mind? Ridiculous!]

[Qingque: S-See! I told you! How could Divination Commissioner be the type to be petty? Ahahaha...]

[Fu Xuan: @Qingque Come to my room tonight. This seat will personally assign you work!]

[Qingque: Ah?! Why?]

[Fu Xuan: Did you step into the Divination Commission with your left foot first today? Hmm?!]

[Qingque: Emmm... Divination Commissioner, is it okay if I don’t go?]

[Fu Xuan: Not going? Hehehe, Qingque, you wouldn’t want to never be able to slack off again, right? Hmm? Hehehehehe...]

Inside the Palace of Astrum, Qingque said leisurely: ”I hope the Astral Express crew can assist us in capturing the Stellaron Hunter ’Kafka’ and bringing her to justice. Of course, all the bounty afterward will belong to you. The Luofu will not take even a single credit.”

”Kafka... she actually appeared on the Xianzhou?” Himeko’s eyes flickered slightly. ”Do you have any relevant information on her?”

Qingque nodded: ”Of course. According to the scouts’ reports, this person is skilled in a type of mind control technique called [Spirit Whisper] and is proficient with various weapons. She often uses spider webs as support during combat.”

”Oh right, seeing is believing. I have a video she personally sent over. You can take a look.”

”Please watch the VCR—”

[Silver Wolf: Oh? The summary of Kafka is pretty accurate, but how can you be sure this is all her information?]

[Kafka: Baby, don’t be anxious. Just treat it as watching a movie. Why care so much about the details? Too many words will lead to slip-ups~]

[Silver Wolf: You think I’m worried about you? I’m worried that if I really become a loli in here, what should I do!]

[Silver Wolf: I, the greatest hacker in the galaxy, what if I get jealously edited? So far I quite like this fan creation. You have to give me a good ending!]

[Big Herta: Yo~ little girl, still holding onto such unrealistic fantasies? Haven’t you noticed that in this film, everyone has become the version they want to be in their hearts?]

[Big Herta: Take a good look. Himeko wants the power to protect her companions, the Luofu General wants a peaceful life, the little Xianzhou girl wants to become strong, the unknown Xianzhou loli wants to be General... Isn’t it obvious?]

[Screwllum: Disagree; Logic: This pattern cannot cover all individuals, such as Miss Fu Xuan who did not obtain the General position in this film.]

[Big Herta: ...Screwllum, can’t you tell I said that on purpose?]

[Screwllum: ...Then I apologize.]

[Silver Wolf: Tch, what does an old hag pretending to be young know? If you ask me, you’d at most be a loli in there too.]

[Big Herta: Heh, little girl, did you get your account back? You dare leave comments so openly online. Aren’t you afraid I’ll ban a few more of your accounts?]

[Silver Wolf: You... Just you wait!]

[Kafka: Alright, alright. Wolfie, stop making a fuss. Let’s watch the main video seriously and not ruin the mood.]

...

This was a video Qingque opened. At the beginning of the video was a dimly lit corridor.

The lighting in the corridor was somewhat dim, but the defense was extremely tight. A fully armed company employee stood every three meters, monitoring every inch of the area 24/7 without blind spots, as if guarding against someone.

—”Attention all units! Target has appeared! Target has appeared! She’s coming! Alert, alert!”

The serious voice of the captain came from the company employees’ internal communicators, putting everyone on high tension. They all knew who the enemy they were facing this time was.

The Stellaron Hunter with a bounty of 10.8 billion credits — Kafka!

[Kafka: Hmm... This is the location of a mission I once carried out. This film actually recorded it? Heh... It seems the host’s identity is not simple. They even managed to get this ’memory.’]

[Silver Wolf: Speaking of which, you never kept a low profile on missions anyway. Otherwise how could your bounty have risen so high?]

[Kafka: Can it compare to SAM’s high profile?]

[Kafka: ...Hmm?]

At this moment, Kafka suddenly felt something was off. Although the location and people in this footage were exactly the same as the mission she had once carried out...

She fell silent.

[Silver Wolf: ???]

[Blade: ...?]

[SAM: ???]

[Elio: ???]

[Stelle: ???]

In the footage, ”Kafka” was climbing on the ceiling of the corridor with all four limbs. Her bangs hung down, making her look like she had a big back hairstyle. Her face still carried the clear innocence unique to a young girl.

Just like that, like a real spider, she leisurely crawled across the ceiling in a way that defied the laws of physics, smoothly avoiding the guards and silently infiltrating inside.

At the same time, the BGM of the video became stirring. The elegant violin piece suddenly reached the climax of its variation. The image of ”Kafka crawling on the ceiling” froze at this moment, perfectly delivering a three-turn-two close-up, accompanied by artistic text with her name: Kafka.

”...”

Outside the screen, Kafka stared silently for a long time, then turned to look at her own black cat and smiled gently:

”I think I can have a new mission.”
