Chapter 340: Chapter 340: Is That What You Call Running?

Seat of Divine Foresight.

Although only a few system hours had passed since Fu Xuan left her, Qingque felt an inexplicable trace of loneliness. Sitting in front of her desk, she couldn’t help recalling the time when Fu Xuan was still with her:

—”Being able to be together with Senior is the happiest thing in my life! No doubt about it!”

—”Hehe, Senior looks really cool when working seriously. I must study hard and strive to catch up to Senior’s pace soon.”

—”Senior is tired, right? Here, this is the bitter drink I made myself. It’s very refreshing. Try it?”

—”Eh? Senior likes it a lot? Then I’ll bring it for Senior every day from now on.”

”······”

Thinking of this, a helpless smile involuntarily appeared on Qingque’s face: Sigh, she really is a child who is both cute and fated to be with me. Borrowing a phrase I saw online recently: In other universes, they are probably also in this kind of superior-subordinate relationship, right?

Mm, when Fu Xuan comes back from this mission, perhaps I should find some time to properly deepen our relationship.

But... was it too dangerous to let her follow Huohuo to subdue Heliobi on such short notice?

Those Heliobi are at least part of [The Blaze], and [The Blaze] was a great Heliobus that could arm-wrestle General Teng Xiao back then. Although they didn’t win, it still showed their strength.

Should I go take a look?

It’s not impossible. I can treat it as an inspection... Mm, decided!

Thinking of this, Qingque leisurely picked up her phone and called Huohuo.

Ring—

Ring—

Ring—

”Hello? Speak quickly if you have something to say. I’m busy here.”

The phone rang several times before the other side picked up. Huohuo’s voice came through, sounding short of breath.

A question mark slowly appeared above Qingque’s head: ”What are you doing? Why does your voice sound so off?”

Huohuo: ”I-I’m running.”

This was actually the truth, because Huohuo was currently carrying Fu Xuan on the way to the medical clinic. The previous battle had consumed quite a bit of her stamina, so she was a little out of breath while speaking. Moreover, having just subdued the Furious Heliobus and been affected by it, her emotions were somewhat irritable.

Very reasonable!

Qingque hesitated for a moment and asked: ”Oh, I just wanted to ask, is Fu Xuan doing okay over there? She didn’t drag you down, right? If it’s really not working I can send you another person.”

Huohuo looked down at the girl in her arms. She knew Fu Xuan didn’t want to lose face for her in front of Qingque, so after thinking it over, she decided to put in a few good words for Fu Xuan:

”She’s performing very well here. She makes people feel very comfortable. I won’t let her leave so easily.”

Qingque: ???

Qingque: ”Hey, make yourself clear. What do you mean by ’makes people feel very comfortable’? In what way is she performing well?”

Huohuo: ”Mm... she’s just very capable. Don’t you know? No matter what she does, she puts in a lot of effort. I like this kind of young person.”

Qingque was shocked: ”Huohuo! Don’t joke around! I’ll get angry!”

Huohuo’s little face wrinkled. She spoke without any politeness: ”What joke am I making? I’m praising her.”

”······”

Qingque was silent for two seconds. A trace of relief flowed through her heart: Right, right, that’s correct. Those are indeed normal words of praise. I’m still too suspicious and sensitive. That’s right, that’s right. With Huohuo being such a little squirt, what else could she do...

At this moment, Huohuo’s voice came from the phone: ”Fu Xuan, hold on a little longer. Endure it. It’ll be over soon.”

Qingque: ???

”Hey! What are you two doing? Is Fu Xuan next to you, Huohuo?” Qingque flew into a rage and asked.

Huohuo only felt puzzled: ”Of course she is. She’s feeling very uncomfortable right now. I’m helping her solve it (taking her to the medical clinic). Is there a problem? Don’t worry, such an obedient subordinate, I will definitely cherish her well.”

”Things are a bit urgent. I won’t talk anymore. Hanging up.”

Beep beep beep—

”······”

Qingque stared blankly at the disconnected call on her phone. A thousand words gathered at her lips, but she couldn’t say anything.

No way... no way? No way!

This... it’s only been two system hours!

”No no no, little Xuanzi must have been forced. I must go save her!”

Thinking of this, Qingque hurriedly rushed out of the Seat of Divine Foresight and went to rescue her according to the location on her phone.

·····

On the other side.

Huohuo carefully carried Fu Xuan in her arms and hurriedly sent her to the medical clinic: ”Doctor, emergency! Rescue!”

The Helm Master’s name was still very well-known. Although Huohuo didn’t announce herself, there were still sharp-eyed physicians in the clinic who recognized her identity at a glance. They immediately came over with smiling faces: ”Helm Master, don’t panic. Let me take a look for you.”

With that, the physician put on a stethoscope, took a small mirror and flashlight, and began the examination:

”Mm... heartbeat normal, breathing slightly rapid, some bruises on the body. Oh—I understand. Helm Master, I’ll go prepare a medicinal soup to replenish qi and blood for you...”

Huohuo’s face darkened as she complained: ”Hey! Do I look like the one with the problem? Look at the one in my hands, you idiot!”

What did this physician mean by ignoring Fu Xuan and glaring at her?

”Oh oh oh, sorry sorry.” The physician smiled awkwardly and began examining Fu Xuan again:

”Let me see. This young lady has elevated body temperature, rapid breathing, accelerated heartbeat, dilated pupils, dazed consciousness... Hiss—why do these symptoms feel a bit familiar?” The physician scratched his head and muttered.

—”Aaah!”

At this moment, a panicked voice rang through the medical clinic, instantly drawing everyone’s attention.

”Stelle! Stelle, why are you convulsing?! Stelle, don’t scare me!”

Bailu shook the person on the hospital bed desperately, extremely worried.

”Where’s the physician? Physician! Stelle now has elevated body temperature, rapid breathing, accelerated heartbeat, dilated pupils, and dazed consciousness. Is she going to die?”

”Physician, save her. No matter how much it costs, I’ll pay for her!”

A passing physician said impatiently: ”Aiya, why are you shouting? Keep quiet inside the clinic. She just drank too many ’computer accessories.’ Her body is over-excited, that’s all. If you’re really worried, just help her solve it.”

Bailu’s crying instantly stopped. She blinked dazedly: ”Ah? What does that mean?”

”...Never mind, go home and play.”

”Ah? How... how can you do that?”

”······”

Everyone silently withdrew their gazes.

The physician said seriously: ”Ahaha, Helm Master, rest assured. We physicians have all received professional training. No matter how gossipy a patient’s privacy is, we won’t spread it... unless we can’t hold it in.”

”Miss Fu Xuan’s symptoms are lighter than that Trailblazer lady earlier, so Helm Master, you don’t need to worry. After resting for a few system hours and drinking more water to replenish, she’ll be fine. It’s nothing serious.”

”I’ll take my leave.”
