Chapter 244: Chapter 244: Firefly’s Second “Death”

Stellaron Hunters’ group chat.

Blade: @Firefly Kafka and I have arrived at Penacony. Where are you? Come pick us up.

Blade: @Firefly Elio mentioned that the ’three deaths’ you’ll encounter this time are dangerous, but not insurmountable hurdles. Especially since Kafka and I have come to Penacony to help you—there basically won’t be any major issues.

Blade: @Firefly To be honest, I can’t imagine how you’d die with both me and Kafka here, especially in a dream. If you really encounter a deadly threat, just log off.

Blade: @Firefly But whatever, since it’s something Elio said, no matter how absurd, it’ll happen. So for your safety, hurry and come find me and Kafka.

Blade: @Firefly We’ve just checked into the room and entered the dream. Where are you? Penacony has twelve moments—it’s too troublesome. If you can’t describe it, send us a location; we’ll come find you ourselves.

Blade: @Firefly Never mind, never mind. I’m not familiar with this place, so you come pick us up. We’re at The Reverie Hotel—oh right, in the dream. I’m in the hotel’s VIP reception room. Come quick.

Blade: @Firefly No good, better not come here yet. The people around are looking at me and Kafka a bit strangely. We’ll change locations; contact later.

Silver Wolf: ?

Boothill: ?

Silver Wolf: What’s this guy muttering to himself again? @Blade Why not just call Firefly? She probably blocked you ages ago.

Boothill: [Elio Emoji · Smile]

Boothill: Ah Blade is a bit naggy, but we’re all family—blocking and such is too hurtful.

Silver Wolf: [Elio Emoji · Eating Melon]

Silver Wolf: Mm, someone’s looking for me; logging off first.

·····

Firefly looked at the pile of messages from Blade @ing her in the group chat, nodded slightly, read but no reply.

The so-called ”three deaths” was a warning Elio gave her using his ability to foresee fate.

This meant she would experience the feeling of ”death” three times in Penacony. Obviously, the first two ”deaths” wouldn’t truly be fatal; otherwise, the third death wouldn’t hold.

And she had only ”died” once during ”entering the dream” so far—this was undoubtedly good news; there was still one layer of safety net.

Due to Firefly’s constitution, she wouldn’t dream, which also meant entering Penacony required unconventional means··· In short, that feeling was painful, but it also let her experience the taste of dreaming.

”Three deaths, huh······”

Firefly murmured, the corners of her mouth curling into an arc: Now that she had entered the dream, with the dream’s protection mechanisms and her own combat power, even with two deaths remaining, they might not pose any substantial threat to her.

No need to worry!

—”Ah? You’ve arrived? That’s great; I’ll bring friends to find you right now!”

On the side, March 7th hung up the phone with a smile on her lips, leisurely walking behind Firefly, gently patting her back, and unusually without sarcasm, smilingly said: ”Miss Firefly, do you have time now?”

”Of course, is there something?”

March 7th blinked, extending a finger: ”Oh, two friends of mine and Stelle’s have also come to Penacony. Stelle and I are going to pick them up—want to come along?”

”Hmm?”

Hearing this, Firefly was slightly stunned: What did this mean?

Hadn’t she always been guarding against her everywhere, trying to kick her out? Why was she suddenly so kind today?

If it were normal, this guy would definitely say ”These are Stelle and my friends—what are you coming for?” But now she was actively inviting her?

”Since Miss March 7th said so, how could I refuse?”

Though puzzled inside, Firefly remained unchanged on the surface, calmly agreeing.

Seeing Firefly agree, March 7th smiled—smiled very happily. She picked up Stelle, who was lying on the bed playing games, and gently said: ”Stelle, stop playing for now. Important friends are coming today; come with me to pick them up.”

Stelle: ”Ah? What friends are coming? How come I don’t know?”

March 7th: ”It’s Asta and a little friend coming.”

Stelle: ”Asta and a little friend? Who? Herta? She does count as little······”

”No.” March 7th interrupted her. ”It’s a little friend we picked up on the Luofu who looks like you.”

Stelle: !!!

”Nani?!”

Stelle jolted upright from the bed, directly surrendering her game. Wasn’t this talking about Little Stellaron? How did this kid follow too?

Asta, March 7th, Asta, March 7th······

These two pink hairs’ names kept switching in Stelle’s mind, making her realize a terrifying fact—pink hairs! None of them were as simple as they seemed!

Careless—this was the struggle between women? Though silent, it was more terrifying than a real fight with knives and guns!

Stelle knew that if Firefly saw Little Stellaron, whether she’d fight March 7th was uncertain, but she’d definitely find a chance to fight her too.

With that thought, Stelle grabbed March 7th’s shoulder, her gaze sincere: ”March, leave this to me. You··· you got hit with a muffled strike yesterday and probably didn’t rest well. Stay here and rest, okay?”

March 7th pushed Stelle’s hand away: ”It’s fine. Anyway, Asta and the others have already entered the dream; they’re probably downstairs by now?”

”I’ll take Firefly down to say hi, then come back to rest—it’s not too late, right?”

Stelle wanted to say more, but saw the upper half of March 7th’s face suddenly darken, smiling: ”You, say, right?”

Stelle: /(ㄒoㄒ)/~~

Downstairs.

Asta and Little Stellaron sat in the VIP reception room, leisurely sipping the nine-figure valued ”Supreme SoulGlad,” when she heard footsteps from behind, immediately smiling slightly.

Actually, coming to Penacony this time was purely her personal vacation. She had originally planned to bring Herta out to relax, so she bought double tickets, but unexpectedly, something came up suddenly—Herta went to meet her online romance partner.

The extra spot for the vacation, Asta was too lazy to refund—after all, the interest from the time she’d spend refunding had already earned it back. It was also at this moment that, during a phone chat with March 7th, she learned a very interesting story.

It was about a gray-haired girl who encountered a silver-haired girl falling from the sky.

After hearing the story, Asta waved her little hand and immediately said, March 7th, don’t be afraid—have you forgotten you still have a trump card?

March 7th was first stunned, then under Asta’s hint, she remembered.

Thus, Little Stellaron took Herta’s spot and followed Asta to Penacony.

And now······

Asta elegantly set down her SoulGlad, looking up at the three approaching from behind, smiling: ”Hello there.”

·····

At the same time, Stellaron Hunters’ group chat.

Elio: @Blade @Kafka Firefly’s second death is imminent; you two remember to help.

Blade: ? It’s finally coming? No problem—I’ll be there. Firefly, don’t worry; Kafka and I will be at the location you sent right away! About five minutes··· no, three minutes—one minute!
