What if your Honkai Star Rail was like this?

Chapter 238: Chapter 238: Robin: I’m Just Conducting an Experiment

Robin: I think this should be something within your power, right?

Photos and three measurements—those are indeed very ordinary things.

After a brief moment of thought, March 7th didn’t refuse and sent a folder over six GB in size to the group chat. It contained most of the photos she had taken with Stelle over the time they’d known each other.

As for the few more private ones, those naturally couldn’t be shared—after all, the best things were meant to be enjoyed alone.

Robin: Received. I’ll contact you after I finish researching.

·····

In a dimly lit room.

Robin’s gaze was fixed intently on the computer screen. She maneuvered the mouse, opening and zooming in on every photo in the folder to examine every detail.

Just where exactly did she differ from this girl?

After observing for a long time, Robin finally reached her first conclusion: clarity.

Although Stelle appeared in a state of sleep in most of the photos here, it wasn’t hard to tell that this was a remarkably pure, straightforward, and defenseless person.

One could see it from how unguarded she was even while sleeping, with her doors wide open.

”Could it be that my brother likes someone a bit silly?” Robin murmured to herself.

But this idea was quickly dismissed by Robin.

Because in their previous work, Sunday not only didn’t like fools but absolutely detested such people. Simply put, he loathed stupidity—and strictly speaking, most people loathed stupidity because it raised their blood pressure.

So it wasn’t liking silliness; it was liking that ”clarity.”

Robin had to admit that while she definitely wouldn’t lose to Stelle in terms of looks, she was indeed slightly inferior in this aspect. Even just looking at the photos, she thought this girl was so cute.

No wonder both March 7th and Miss Firefly liked orbiting around her—it wasn’t entirely incomprehensible.

Let’s keep looking.

After patiently browsing through all of Stelle’s photos, Robin turned to the provided three measurements. When she saw the bust number, her pupils immediately dilated in shock!

Wait... this must be a mistake, right? How could it... how could it be bigger than hers?

It didn’t look that way at all, okay?!

With that thought, Robin immediately sent a message: @March 7th, did you send the wrong measurements? From what I can tell, Miss Stelle’s bust... doesn’t seem that large.

A few seconds later, March 7th replied: Nope, I measured it myself. It’s just that her clothes are too loose; it’s normal not to notice.

Robin: Measured with what?

March 7th: Of course with my hands? What else?

Firefly: ???

Firefly: @March 7th, come to my room. Let’s have a fair duel?!

March 7th: Bring it!

·····

Robin looked at the messages on her phone and fell silent. Was this a joke? Or just the literal meaning?

No... that’s not the point. The point is: another discrepancy between herself and Miss Stelle.

Could it be that her brother liked girls with good figures?

This idea was quickly dismissed as well.

The reason was simple: due to Stelle’s clothing, it wasn’t apparent at all in daily life. Unless Sunday had personally measured it, he wouldn’t even realize.

Stepping back, if Sunday really had measured it personally, then she might as well skip the experiments here and directly activate the contingency plan: ”If I can’t have it, I’ll destroy it so no one else can.”

It probably wasn’t the figure either.

Robin scratched her head in annoyance and casually picked up a copy of Little Bird Care Guidelines from beside her, trying to find clues in it.

—How should little birds deal with external threats?

No.

—In a big family, how should relationships between little birds be handled?

Useless.

—Do little birds engage in inbreeding?

Read it; next.

·····

She had only meant it as a casual way to relax and pass the time, but unexpectedly, one line she glimpsed by chance actually gave her a bold idea—

—In nature, fledglings primarily rely on scent to identify their closest kin; to them, ”scent” = ”family (identity)”

Scent?

Robin fell into thought. It did seem like a major direction.

Take the simplest example: in Penacony, the galaxy’s largest den of extravagance, perfume had been a top luxury item for ten Amber Eras.

From packaging, bottles, colors, scents, brands, usage atmospheres, suitable age groups, and added effects, the Family could create millions of combinations, launching a new perfume every week.

And the scent of perfume could make people feel fondness, draw them closer, provide emotional support······ anyway, it had many seemingly useful effects.

If thought of that way, it wasn’t impossible that Sunday had been drawn to Stelle’s scent.

After all, in Robin’s eyes, Sunday had always been a fledgling that needed to be cradled in the palm and kept in a birdcage.

”Mm, then let’s start with scent.”

Robin quickly settled on the next direction, but problems with this research avenue followed immediately.

That was, how exactly should she research it?

After pondering for a moment, Robin dialed a number from her contacts.

Beep—

”...Hello? Is that Robin dear?”

A gentle voice rang out: ”What a coincidence~ I just finished Sunday dear’s project two days ago, and now Robin dear is here~ Is there something you need my help with?”

”Ms. Ruan Mei, you’re a cutting-edge figure in biotechnology. I’d like you to help with something: research the biological dependency on others’ scents.”

”Mm-hmm, that’s easy enough. Just need a scent sample.”

”A scent sample? Alright, I’ll get it as soon as possible.”

”Mm-hmm, goodbye, dear~”

After hanging up, Robin began thinking about how to obtain the scent sample that Ruan Mei needed.

Go personally to Miss Stelle for close contact? Leaving aside whether Miss Stelle herself would agree, her two ”allies” might not.

Mm······ Got it.

Robin picked up her phone and sent this message in the group chat: @March 7th @Firefly, do you have any old clothes of Miss Stelle’s that she doesn’t want? I’m offering a high price to buy them.

A few seconds later.

March 7th: ······

Firefly: Miss Robin, may I ask what you plan to do with Stelle’s clothes? Hmm~

Robin: For research; I just need a little clothing, that’s all.

Firefly: For your own safety, maybe don’t do the research.

Robin: ······

Robin: @March 7th, what about you then?

March 7th: No can do; I don’t have enough for myself. Sorry, I refuse.

Robin: I’ll pay for it.

March 7th: Our Train Crew isn’t short on cash right now.

Robin: ······

After several rounds of back-and-forth, Robin helplessly leaned back in her chair. She could see it now—the two of them guarded their food fiercely; it wasn’t very possible to resolve this through simple communication.

She’d have to find another way, like······

Sneak into Stelle’s room and take... no, not take—this couldn’t be called stealing. At most, it was a forced transaction.

Worst case... worst case, she’d leave a bit more money behind.

That’s the plan; move tonight.
