Chapter 240: Chapter 240: Firefly Captures March, Sunday in the Rear

Seeing Firefly suddenly jump down from the ceiling, a drop of cold sweat slowly slid down Robin’s forehead: As the saying goes, the mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind. Good thing she hadn’t rushed out just now; otherwise, the ”mantis” at this moment would have been her.

In the darkness, March 7th sneaked up to Stelle’s bedroom door, her hand just about to grasp the doorknob when her occiput suffered a heavy blow. She didn’t even let out a muffled grunt before collapsing straight down on the spot.

Firefly timely dragged March 7th from behind.

Firefly didn’t care at all if March 7th would hit the ground; mainly, falling straight down would make noise, and if it alerted the prey, it wouldn’t be fun, heh heh heh.

After gently placing March 7th on the ground, Firefly withdrew her hands and carefully recalled the feel from just now. After comparing it to herself, she let out a light hum: ”Little one.”

The pink-haired girl should go back and eat more papaya to supplement before trying to compete with her.

Time to move!

Robin, hiding on the side, witnessed the entire process with her own eyes, but this was actually good for her—because now, she was undoubtedly the oriole.

As long as she took down this ”mantis” Firefly······

Tap.

No!

Robin used the cover of her all-black outfit to hide into the darkness, her gaze fixed dead on the direction of the door. Her intuition warned her once again—someone else!

Who? And what was this guy’s purpose?!

A few seconds later, a black silhouette appeared behind Firefly, and Robin also got a clear look at the other’s face, her pupils immediately quaking!

It was actually······ Sunday!

Why?

When she recognized that face, Robin’s mind was left only with three words: Whether it was the time, the location, or this bizarre behavior, nothing added up!

As for why Sunday was here, that had to go back twenty minutes.

Twenty minutes ago.

Stelle lay on the bed, blanket draped over her head, eyes unblinking as she played her game. As the saying goes, youth and vigor; how could young people be young without staying up late? At this hour, March 7th and Firefly were both asleep, but she was different.

She usually needed two hours of phone time before she could sleep.

But as she played, Stelle suddenly felt so hungry, so she ordered some late-night food on the delivery platform and specially noted: Handle with care; someone is sleeping.

And this delivery notification was learned by Sunday (because he was now monitoring Stelle’s social info, including deliveries, 24/7).

Thus, Sunday intercepted the delivery guy midway and personally came to deliver.

Sunday’s inner thoughts: Heh heh heh, in a bit, I’ll get to see the gentle, cute, innocent, kind, clear, pure, wise, beautiful Miss Stelle who’s a hundred billion times better than Robin.

So exciting~ So thrilling~ So happy~

So he carried the delivery to the room’s exterior. Just as he was straightening his clothes, he suddenly felt something off—the room had a problem!

His intuition told Sunday that the atmosphere in this room was extremely tense, as if a great battle was about to erupt at any moment. Thus, out of excessive concern for Stelle’s safety, Sunday quietly opened the door and stealthily slipped inside.

And right as he entered, he saw Firefly wielding an iron rod to ”strike mercilessly” at March 7th.

This only further confirmed Sunday’s inner suspicions: As expected, something was wrong here!

He’d long felt that Firefly’s gaze on Miss Stelle was off; look, she really did harbor ill intentions, planning to take advantage of this moonless, windy night to plot against Miss Stelle.

But no worries—since he was here, he absolutely wouldn’t allow such a thing to happen!

As the saying goes, the mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind. This Miss Firefly was merely a ”mantis”; he, Sunday, was the final ”oriole”!

Sunday casually felt for a steel pipe, raising it high to charge his swing while tiptoeing forward, silently arriving behind Firefly.

Sunday’s inner thoughts: Tonight is the time to achieve merit and establish a career! Protect the king, earn the merit of founding dragons! Miss Stelle is mine!

No doubt, once Miss Stelle wakes up, she’ll surely praise me, heh heh heh heh······

Duang!

Just as Firefly’s hand touched the doorknob, Sunday’s merciless iron rod came crashing down, striking her occiput. Firefly let out a muffled hum and collapsed in shock.

Before losing consciousness, Firefly’s heart was filled with unwillingness, anger, and confusion.

Why? Clearly··· just a little more··· and she could have—

Firefly: X__X

Success, hahaha!

Sunday’s inner ecstasy was momentarily hard to contain. He casually tossed the steel pipe aside, pulled out the delivery, and thought: Miss Stelle, I’m here!

You ask why delivering food requires entering the room? Isn’t this upholding justice?

You ask why delivering food requires entering the bedroom? Isn’t this because Miss Stelle noted ”handle with care, someone sleeping”?

And how could a delivery person not hand the item directly to the customer?

·····

Robin’s face on the side had already turned completely dark.

This brother of hers was truly selfish.

He’d clearly promised her before.

Just this afternoon, he’d said things like ”we’re just ordinary friends; we were only playing a game.”

But··· sneaking into a young girl’s bedroom in the dead of night—there was no good explanation for that, right?

Robin also casually felt for a steel pipe, her eyes resolute. Don’t worry, brother; I’ll soon find out why you like Miss Stelle, and then, you’ll like me just as much as you like her.

But before that, you’d still have to endure a bit of necessary pain.

Robin tiptoed forward, but just then, the passive ”Little Bird Sense” triggered again. She looked stunned toward the room door’s position and hid back into the darkness.

There was actually someone behind! Was there no end to this?!

A few seconds later, the latecomer’s appearance entered Robin’s view: a man with long golden hair, bearing a face full of ill intent and utterly untrustworthy.

It was Shush.

As for why Shush was here, that had to start from five minutes ago.

Five minutes ago.

Sunday strode in proudly, carrying the delivery into The Reverie Grand Hotel. But right at the entrance, he was stopped by the hotel doorman-cum-security, Mila.

Mila’s face was stern: ”Sorry, we don’t allow delivery inside here. Just leave it; we’ll have someone send it up later.”

Sunday’s expression was blank. ”I’m not a delivery guy; I’m delivering food.”

”Same difference. No entry means no entry; it’s the rules from above.”

Sunday: ”Take a good look at who I am? You don’t recognize me just a few days after I stepped down? Let me tell you, a security guard of your level doesn’t have the qualifications to stop me!”

Mila took a close look: ”Ah? Mr. Sunday, sorry, I didn’t see the golden powder effects earlier; I didn’t react.”

Sunday snorted coldly. ”Good that you recognize me.”

Mila stepped aside to let him pass, then casually asked: ”Mr. Sunday, by the way, who’s the recipient that you’d personally deliver food for?”

At this mention, Sunday haughtily raised his head: ”Strictly speaking, a doorman-security doesn’t qualify to know, but considering you’re one of Mikhail’s incarnations, I’ll reluctantly tell you.”

”Of course, it’s the gentle, cute, innocent, kind, clear, pure, wise, beautiful Miss Stelle who’s a hundred billion times better than Robin.”

”······ What?”

Shush, passing by, looked over here, a big ”?” appearing above his head.
