Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 847: Chapter 564: Metamorphosis, Near Completion_2

There was nothing to be done; everyone trusted the Superpower Legion far too much. That was Lu Li’s Guard Legion, after all, and they’d already racked up glorious battle achievements before.

So the moment people heard the Superpower Legion was being deployed, they immediately felt everything was in the bag.

As a result, lots of netizens started popping champagne online in advance.

“This one’s practically a sure win!”

“What do you mean ‘practically’? It’s a hundred-percent sure win, okay?”

“Exactly, once the Superpower Legion moves out, as long as Land God himself doesn’t take the field, they’re the invincible existence of the whole Cosmos.”

“I really want to see how the Superpower Legion pounds ‘Annihilation’ into the dirt.”

Just when countless people were joyfully celebrating, an off-key voice suddenly rang out.

A netizen with the username “Carolan Has Three Peaches” said, “If—and I mean if—the Superpower Legion can’t beat the iron-based lifeforms, what then?”

At those words, countless netizens froze for a moment, then burst into wild laughter.

“Hahaha! I’m dying over here!”

“Bro, are you some idiot sent by the monkey tribe?”

“Yeah, this is the Superpower Legion we’re talking about, Land God’s Divine Attendants. How could they possibly lose to iron-based lifeforms?”

“Are you some spy sent from another galaxy to the Milky Way Galaxy, who doesn’t have a clue how ferocious Land God’s Superpower Legion actually is?”

A swarm of netizens mocked him like crazy; they simply didn’t believe the Superpower Legion couldn’t handle these so-called iron-based lifeforms.

Yeah, people just had that much confidence in the Superpower Legion—so much confidence it bordered on arrogance.

…

On the other side.

Lu Li, currently in the midst of his metamorphosis, sensed Wang Yu leading ten thousand superpowered warriors rushing toward the starry battlefield.

What left him a bit speechless was that Wang Yu actually hadn’t gone to borrow the “Mountains and Rivers State Map” from Liu Kexin.

He had previously sensed the iron-based lifeforms and knew they were a powerful kind of cosmic creature, definitely not something ordinary intelligent beings could resist. But no matter how strong they were, iron-based beings were still just “living creatures” within the Cosmos’ rules. The Mountains and Rivers State Map could easily draw them in, and with a single shake, reduce them to ash.

Of course, though the Mountains and Rivers State Map was powerful, its internal “space” was limited. It could only deal with iron-based beings on the “Annihilation” level; if something any larger showed up, the Mountains and Rivers State Map wouldn’t be able to pull it in.

“It’s fine even if Wang Yu didn’t bring the Mountains and Rivers State Map; we still have the Infinity Gauntlet.”

Lu Li mused to himself, “As long as Old Wang has fully grasped how to use the Infinity Gauntlet, it might be a bit tricky, but wiping out ‘Annihilation’ won’t be a problem. As for even larger iron-based lifeforms, the Infinity Gauntlet still won’t work on them.”

The Infinity Gauntlet had one fatal flaw: it couldn’t affect any being whose “energy” was higher than its own.

Back then, Lu Li had spent the power of seventy stars condensing the Infinity Gauntlet, and the total energy contained in a ten-light-year iron-based lifeform was roughly on that level as well, so handling it was naturally no issue.

In terms of total energy, iron-based beings didn’t seem especially strong, but their bodies were bizarrely structured, giving them astonishing defense. On top of that, when they destroyed stars, it was mostly through physical collision, triggering the star’s explosion. That was why they gave off such an overwhelming sense of unstoppable destruction, like some unbeatable existence—when in reality, they weren’t that terrifying.

“The larger an iron-based lifeform’s body, the more its strength grows geometrically. For something with a thirty-light-year body, the Mountains and Rivers State Map or the Infinity Gauntlet simply wouldn’t be able to deal with it.”

Lu Li’s heart was clear as day. “Even though the Mountains and Rivers State Map and the Infinity Gauntlet can’t affect iron-based lifeforms of truly colossal size, there’s still me. Once my divine body finishes its metamorphosis, then after I wait a few days for the eighth deep evolution, I’ll just wipe all those iron-based lifeforms out.”

Right now, he really couldn’t free up any attention, since his divine body was still in the middle of transforming.

And indeed, after these past two days of metamorphosis, his divine body had undergone earthshaking changes.

First off, he had formed an “Energy Universe” within his body, able to supply himself with a massive, inexhaustible stream of energy.

The growth rate of this energy supply was about more than double what it had been before.

Hmm, even higher than Lu Li had initially expected.

Previously, he’d thought that once the “Energy Universe” formed, each new day’s energy limit would be 4.5 times that of the previous day. However, once the “Energy Universe” actually came into being, he could clearly sense that the next day’s energy limit was not just 4.5 times, but a full five times the previous day’s.

“Too bad my divine body is still in a ‘virtualized’ state right now, so the energy source hasn’t kicked in yet.”

Lu Li knew this was only temporary; once the structural “assembly” of his divine body was complete and it became corporeal, the energy source would begin to function.

To fully complete the metamorphosis of his divine body, he still had to go through two more steps.

The second step was very simple: turn every single one of his cells into “laws.”

Lu Li had already moved on to this step, and his progress was roughly at “forty percent.”

He estimated that in another two or three days, he should be able to finish this step.

This seemed to be taking longer than his earlier estimate of just two or three days total for the entire metamorphosis.

As for the third step, it was actually simpler—but you could also say more difficult.

The “simpler” part was that, once Lu Li finished the “assembly,” he only needed to turn his body from “illusory” into “solid.”

The difficult part was that transforming his body from “virtual” to “real” might require an unimaginably vast amount of energy.

The reason was that countless laws were converging into his body; when his body turned “corporeal,” those laws would also be “actualized” from a formless, intangible state.

Lu Li currently possessed the power of sixty-five trillion stars, an absolutely immense amount of energy, but he genuinely didn’t know whether it would be enough to support the full “actualization” of all those laws.

“Let’s hope it’s enough.”

Lu Li silently prayed once, “If it’s not enough, I might have to absorb all the atoms formed from interstellar matter in the Small Magellanic Cloud, and even drain the billions of stars in the neighboring Large Magellanic Cloud, which hasn’t had any intelligent life in ages.”

You had to think everything through carefully.

Afraid that the power of sixty-five trillion stars might not suffice, Lu Li had already set his sights on the atomic matter of the Small Magellanic Cloud and on the entire Large Magellanic Cloud.

…

Deep in the endless starry sky, a Spaceship was hurtling forward at high speed.

This Spaceship was enormous, with just its underside spanning about a hundred kilometers in diameter. But anyone with a bit of know-how could tell that this was a “civilian” Spaceship not equipped with many powerful weapons.

In other words, if it ran into some serious bandits out in space, this Spaceship might very well get stopped and robbed.

Yet the surprising thing was that this civilian Spaceship, which didn’t have much real firepower, was actually charging straight toward the most dangerous Southwest Star Realm of the Milky Way Galaxy at the moment.

Bear in mind, the Southwest Star Realm of the Milky Way Galaxy right now had iron-based lifeforms wreaking havoc. Most people couldn’t run away fast enough—who would willingly go there?

And sure enough, as long as you weren’t blind, you could practically see from a huge distance away that near a certain stellar system up ahead, there was a gigantic fiery-red monster.

This monster was stirring up cosmic “seas,” its colossal body twisting and rolling, and in an instant, that stellar system was smashed into a “fire tree,” then with a fierce inhale from the creature, all matter was sucked into its belly.

Anyone who saw this scene would instantly understand that this fiery-red monster was Annihilation, that terrifying iron-based creature.

Inside the ship.

Didan stared tensely at the virtual screen displaying that boundless, horrifying monster.

He swallowed hard and said in a slightly trembling voice, “H–Honorable Wang Yu, d–do you and your Superpower Legion really have the strength to kill Annihilation?”

You couldn’t blame him for reacting this way. The Superpower Legion had been in such a rush that they hadn’t even waited for a Cosmic Battleship; they’d come directly on Didan’s Spaceship.

With no protection at all, if an iron-based creature so much as brushed against them, this Spaceship would be destroyed. How could Didan not be scared?

Wang Yu clasped his hands behind his back, carefully watched the virtual screen for a while, then said in a calm voice, “We haven’t fought it yet, so I can’t give you a guarantee. Mr. Didan, please wait here for a moment. My brothers and I will now go face the iron-based lifeform in battle!”
