Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Lu Li retorted: ”How can I get the answer I want?”

Li Yajing said with intelligence: ”You have to ask your own heart, what exactly do you want.”

What do I really want?

Lu Li’s hand, which was randomly touching Li Yajing’s back, suddenly stopped, and he fell into deep thought.

In the past, when he had nothing, he only wanted to make more money, buy a house, buy a car, then find a girlfriend, and finally get married and have children, living a happy life.

Indeed, this thought persisted for a long time even after his gene unlock.

During that time, he constantly used his superpowers to earn money, just to improve his quality of life.

And the reason for becoming intimate partners with Julia Giannini and Liu Kexin was also due to such pursuits.

Humans cannot change overnight.

Just like someone who gets rich overnight, they might become inflated, might engage in revengeful spending, but they cannot become aristocrats instantly and will not immediately possess that kind of aura.

This is also why Lu Li, despite being able to avoid eating beef, remained obsessed with money.

As time passed and his strength grew stronger, things he used to not dare to aspire to could now be easily obtained.

It seems that the idea of improving life, getting married, and having children has become unimportant.

He gradually started to want to explore the mysteries of the universe and life, to understand the structure of the entire world.

This was his pursuit after the fifth deep evolution.

After the sixth and seventh deep evolutions, Lu Li witnessed more things and gained higher status and more powerful strength, naturally changing his perspective.

On one hand, he wanted to maintain his humanity and passion.

On the other hand, he wanted to become a supreme existence like the ”Great Will.”

The two inherently have some conflicts and achieving both seems difficult.

Wanting to become a ”supreme” existence definitely involves enduring loneliness.

Keeping humanity, seemingly with elevated status and mostly divinity, seems hard to maintain as well.

It is precisely because of this that Lu Li felt a sense of ”loneliness.”

He couldn’t help but ask himself whether to continue maintaining humanity or to uncover all secrets.

Initially, Lu Li truly felt conflicted, unable to decide.

Gradually, through thinking, he seemed to have some vague answers.

”In some sense... or in a certain period, uncovering the world’s secrets and maintaining humanity might not conflict.”

Lu Li thought to himself: ”For example, now, I’m not yet strong enough to fully uncover the world’s secrets, I can still establish various interactions on Earth with family and friends, maintaining some pitiful remnants of humanity, but in the future, when I am strong to a certain level, I will definitely pursue becoming a supreme existence, rather than humanity.”

In other words, becoming ”supreme” is his only choice.

Lu Li suddenly understood.

Since ”supreme” is his only choice, then why bother being conflicted?

This step is undoubtedly extremely difficult, but it is his lifelong pursuit.

So, to explore more secrets, he knew he must absorb fifth-dimensional energy.

Only by doing this can he evolve faster, obtain stronger energy to explore higher dimensions.

Lu Li suddenly opened his mouth to ask: ”Yajing, if... I mean if one day I’m gone...”

Li Yajing immediately reached out a finger to block his lips, ”I won’t allow you to say that.”

Lu Li helplessly chuckled, withdrew one hand to hold her hand, and continued, saying: ”Let me finish.”

Li Yajing gently nodded, ”Mm, go on.”

Lu Li said: ”I’m saying, if one day I truly disappear, do you think the entire Earth, or even the entire Milky Way Galaxy, and the universe would do anything bad to the people close to me?”

Li Yajing once again seriously contemplated and cautiously replied: ”Hard to say, even though you’ve saved Earth and repelled the invading Eternal Motion Race in the Milky Way Galaxy, it seems like great achievements, enough for everyone to be grateful, but while doing these things, you’ve inevitably offended some people invisibly, and others might be filled with fear of your power. While you’re here, no one dares to do anything; once you’re gone, others might do something terrifying.”

Lu Li considered these words reasonable.

If he were gone, both Julia Giannini and Liu Kexin being pregnant with his children, others might harm them fearing another ”Supreme Emperor” above them.

Also, Lu Li’s ability to ”unlock genes” might make others think there’s some hidden superior gene in his parents or entire family circle, prompting them to capture his family for a series of experiments.

Hence, he cannot be absent.

Once absent, it would absolutely be a disaster for family and friends.

Lu Li thought clearly that if he wanted to take risks to absorb fifth-dimensional energy, there must be a crucial premise, which is arranging his family and friends properly.

Ensuring that even if he doesn’t exist in this universe anymore, no one would harm them.

Achieving this is simple.

He just needs to find a relatively secret paradise in the cosmos.

Actually, not doing this wouldn’t be a big issue; previously, he used Divine Power to gather many treasures from the Fantasy World, not only allowing relatives and friends to become immortal but also enabling some ”tools” to exhibit god-like powers.

He just needs to confirm one thing, that even if he perishes, these ”tools” obtained from the Fantasy World would continue to exist.

Doing an experiment on this later would basically reveal the result.

Li Yajing watched Lu Li immersed in thought and obediently stayed silent, waiting quietly for him to finish thinking.

About a few minutes later, Lu Li awoke from his contemplation, smiled, and asked: ”Yajing, do you have any wishes? I can help you realize them.”

Li Yajing said: ”My wish is for you to have more time to accompany me, and also... don’t call me naughty, but I haven’t had that for a long time, can you...”

Lu Li laughed loudly: ”It’s possible, but not right now.”

Li Yajing was puzzled: ”Don’t you have time now?”

Lu Li said: ”I have more important things to do later, may not be able to accompany you much right now, but I’ll try my best to fulfill your wish to accompany you more, after I deal with this period, I should have time.”

Speaking of which, he asked again: ”I’m talking about material wishes, superpowers too, like how much money you need, or what kind of superpower you want, you can tell me, I’ll try to fulfill them for you.”

Li Yajing shook her head: ”The money I earn may not be much to you, but it’s enough for my life; I have no needs financially. As for superpowers... I ate the peach you gave me, and I seem to have acquired the ability to retain youth, so I don’t seem to have any needs either.”

She said this and suddenly ”giggled” laughing out loud, ”Why do I feel like your tone is trying to keep me as a mistress?”

Lu Li laughed heartily: ”No, no, just want you to have a better life.”

Li Yajing said: ”Then that’s good, I don’t want to be kept as a mistress.”

Lu Li touched her cheek, ”Kiss me, I have to go work.”

Li Yajing said reluctantly: ”So soon?”

Lu Li said: ”Mm, it’s urgent.”

Li Yajing didn’t say anything else, leaned over to give him a kiss, and then stood up willingly.

Lu Li stood up afterwards, saying: ”Take a bath, go to bed early, once I’ve dealt with things, I’ll come accompany you.”

Li Yajing’s eyes showed reluctance but gave a firm answer: ”Okay, I’ll wait for you.”

Lu Li waved his hand, his figure disappeared right before Li Yajing.

After the conversation with Li Yajing, his mindset had completely shifted.

Since he wants to pursue becoming a ”supreme” existence, how could he not take risks?

Just like a poem written by Wang Guozhen, where one line goes:

Who can say clearly.

What is sweet.

What is bitter.

Just knowing, once determined, move forward without hesitation;

If you must lose, lose to pursuit;

If marry, marry happiness.

If pursuing faster evolution results in loss, it’s still a loss to pursuit.

His life has been exciting enough.

Even if he falls, there will be no regrets!

Yes, Lu Li is that determined.

Determined enough that even if this adventure might cost his life, he still proceeds without hesitation!
