Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Li Yajing’s eyes lit up with joy, ”You missed me? Really?”

Lu Li chuckled and said, ”How could it be fake? Want me to cut open my heart and show you?”

Li Yajing’s smile turned sweet, ”No need, I believe you.”

As she said this, her tone became a bit distressed, ”If I’d known you were coming tonight, I would’ve dressed up a bit more.”

Lu Li looked over and said, ”You look great already. How much prettier do you need to be?”

Tonight, Li Yajing was wearing a light blue floral dress with a cream-colored cardigan over it, and black patterned stockings perfectly showcased her curled long legs.

Maybe because she had just finished broadcasting, her face still had delicate makeup, her cheeks blushing, with eyes like rippling autumn water, truly charming and sexy.

Li Yajing widened her eyes, ”Does this really look good?”

Lu Li gently nodded, ”Mmm, you do look quite pretty.”

The two of them chatted for a while in the car.

Because of the presence of the driver.

Lu Li couldn’t reveal his identity.

So the conversation was relatively subtle.

About seven or eight minutes later.

The car stopped in front of an apartment building.

The driver turned and said, ”Beautiful lady, give me a good rating, alright?”

Li Yajing paid while saying, ”Sure, I’ll do it now.”

...

Getting off the car.

Taking the elevator to the ninth floor.

At the door, Li Yajing unlocked it with her fingerprint and pushed it open.

She reached out and turned on the light, then took out two pairs of slippers from the shoe cabinet, ”I don’t have men’s slippers here. You’ll have to make do with mine.”

Lu Li glanced at Li Yajing who was bending over with her back to him, jokingly said, ”Aren’t you afraid I’ll misbehave?”

Li Yajing, not a naive girl, naturally understood Lu Li’s insinuation.

As she stood up and put on the slippers, she smiled with pursed lips, ”Back then, when we shared a bed, you didn’t misbehave.”

Lu Li said speechlessly, ”Wasn’t it inconvenient for you at that time?”

Li Yajing had already changed into slippers, while walking inside and taking off her coat, ”Was it? I don’t remember.”

Lu Li sensed she remembered, just being contrary at the moment!

He changed into slippers, casually closed the door, and also walked towards the living room sofa, ”Forget it, I thought you could remember every moment we spent together, kinda disappointing.”

Li Yajing hung up her coat, turned around revealing her impressive figure.

She blinked and said alluringly, ”Why don’t... you help me recall that day’s events?”

Lu Li sat on the sofa, ”Alright, give me a kiss first, after all, that’s how it started that day.”

Li Yajing looked at Lu Li, pouting, ”No way.”

Lu Li slightly tilted his head and asked, ”Why not?”

Li Yajing pointed at his face and said, ”You’re wearing someone else’s face, I can’t kiss that.”

Lu Li laughed at her and wiped his face to restore his original appearance, ”How about now?”

Li Yajing stared at Lu Li’s incredibly handsome face for a while, ”Close your eyes.”

This phrase sounded so familiar.

Back when Lu Li and Li Yajing were in the hotel, she said she wanted to thank him, also asking him to close his eyes before kissing him.

Perhaps having found that old ambiguous feeling, Lu Li’s heart skipped a beat, as if he had regained a spark of life.

That spark, lost and found again, felt wonderful.

Lu Li instinctively closed his eyes.

Even blocking out all his super senses.

To see if he could experience the past.

The next moment, he felt a soft touch on his lips.

Lu Li certainly knew Li Yajing kissed him.

Just about to enjoy the moment, she pulled away.

Lu Li opened his eyes and laughed, ”Just one kiss?”

There was a sly glimmer in Li Yajing’s eyes, ”What did you think?”

The situation was exactly the same as back then.

Lu Li’s ”humanity” was awakening.

He still acted as he did then, a bit eagerly moving forward to embrace her, ”I want more.”

Li Yajing didn’t resist, but her tone sounded alarmed, ”Lu Li, what are you doing?”

Lu Li rolled his eyes and said, ”Wrong cue, it should be Brother Lu, let’s redo!”

Li Yajing burst into laughter, ”You remember so clearly.”

Lu Li reached out to stroke her hair, ”You remember quite clearly too, don’t you miss me a lot?”

Li Yajing’s face, originally with blush, became even redder.

She slightly lowered her head and softly said, ”Yes, I do miss you quite a lot, but... just...”

Lu Li reached out and hooked Li Yajing’s chin, making her look up at him slightly, ”Just what?”

Li Yajing helplessly said, ”It’s just that your social status keeps getting higher, and we interact less and less. Later, I found out you had a girlfriend, so I didn’t dare to disturb you.”

Lu Li gazed into her eyes with deep affection and said, ”You can disturb me anytime, just make sure my girlfriend doesn’t find out.”

Li Yajing’s eyes seemed a bit dreamy, ”Really?”

Lu Li pinched her chin and drew her slightly closer, ”Really.”

At this moment, their faces were just a few centimeters apart, and they could even feel each other’s breath.

Li Yajing’s gaze grew even dreamier, ”But... but...”

Lu Li leaned closer, ”But what is it now?”

Li Yajing suddenly closed her eyes, reached out, wrapped her arms around Lu Li’s neck, and then kissed him actively.

There was no answer, yet there seemed to be all the answers.

Lu Li also wrapped his arms around her waist and gently kissed her, it wasn’t a passionate kiss.

After a moment, Li Yajing slowly withdrew, reached out to caress Lu Li’s face, ”I’m afraid that once I get too carried away, you’ll stop paying attention to me...”

She left unsaid the words that when she first met Lu Li, she was deeply moved.

After the two had been ambiguous for a long time, she was already infatuated with Lu Li.

Otherwise, with her beautiful appearance and proud figure, how would she still be without a boyfriend?

For example, when she was at Vox, there were quite a few men pursuing her.

Later, when she left Vox, there was also no shortage of suitors.

In the end?

Li Yajing didn’t agree to any of them and refused them all because she had her heart set on someone, the person in front of her.

Lu Li had blocked out his soul perception, so naturally, he didn’t know what Li Yajing was thinking.

However, after that brief kiss with Li Yajing, he truly found the feeling from before.

This feeling wasn’t present now, it felt more like it resided in his very bones from the past, now it was awakened.

Lu Li, who hadn’t felt this way for a long time, cherished this revival; it provided him with a bit of joy in his lifeless life.

He continued to gaze into her eyes, ”I won’t, don’t overthink it.”

Li Yajing gently murmured an ”Mm,” then she leaned her head against Lu Li’s shoulder and softly said, ”You came to see me tonight and were so intimate with me, it’s like a beautiful dream. Honestly, I don’t know if I’m in a dream right now. If I am, I hope I never wake up.”

Lu Li held her tightly, ”It’s not a dream; everything is real.”

Li Yajing wrapped her arms around him, ”But it feels like a dream to me. You know, I’ve imagined being alone with you countless times, but ever since you went to the super base, even seeing you has become a luxury, let alone being alone together. So afterward, I kept telling myself we are people from two different worlds. You are the brightest star in the sky, while I am just a firefly.”

This confession didn’t mention the word ”love,” yet it was enough to show Li Yajing’s deep feelings.

Lu Li never imagined that there was a girl who had always been so sincere towards him.

He wasn’t without receiving true affection.

For example, Julia Giannini.

Another example is Liu Kexin.

Both of them were genuinely devoted to him.

Yet the sincerity from the three was different, and the feelings also varied.

Julia Giannini was purely won over by his sleep.

To be honest, Lu Li didn’t have much ”emotion” towards her.

As for Liu Kexin, Lu Li genuinely had a romantic relationship with her, accumulating real feelings bit by bit, without any particularly vivid emotions.

Instead, with Li Yajing, their relationship from the start was ambiguous until now, always felt incredibly intense.

That kind of thrill was intoxicating.

Lu Li couldn’t help but feel wistful.

It turns out, even as a god, he still longed for the feeling of thrill.

Now, in his bland life, he had once again regained that feeling from Li Yajing.

He felt fortunate for deciding to see Li Yajing tonight, as otherwise, he may never...

Hey!

Hold on!

What was my reason for coming here tonight?

To find someone to speak freely about things, then decide whether to gamble?

Is that right?

Is that truly what I was thinking?

Ah, I don’t remember anymore.

Let’s just enjoy this tender embrace in front of me!

Lu Li was lost in random thoughts.

Suddenly, Li Yajing slowly lifted her head with slight shyness and said, ”Lu Li, I... I can give you whatever you want...”
